Born Mine
Chapter 29

The crowd disbanded as soon as the speech was over and I practically pulled Serena as far away from the stage as I could. I was trying to avoid Darius and possibly Liam but Liam didn't seem to take the hint because he followed us all the way to the snacks table.

"Would you girls like anything?" Liam asked but I shook my head. He shrugged but still ordered some fries for all of us.

Serena just had her arms folded over her chest and was watching me with an amused look. I did not explain why I pulled her away but she had noticed that I was staying as far away from Liam as I possibly could and I could tell that she was itching to tell me 'I told you so'.

Liam had become more open with his flirting and was blatantly trying to touch me. If this was a different situation, I might have been more inclined to reciprocate his actions, he was a good-looking man and he had a well-built body but I was too busy trying to keep an eye out for Darius because I knew without a doubt that he was searching for me and I was determined to avoid him as much as possible.

"I heard there's a photo booth somewhere," Liam said out of the blue. "Would you like to check it out with me?"

I opened my mouth to protest and he must have sensed it because he delved into an explanation of why he thought it would be a good idea. I shot a panicked look at Serena, who looked like she was having a hard time hiding her laughter. She seemed content letting me deal with my problems until Liam grabbed my arm. It was like something snapped inside her and she pulled me right out of his grip. There was a small rumble that came from Liam at her abrupt action.

A look was shared between both of them and it seemed like some sort of power play was happening when Liam suddenly took a step back and held up his hands in mock surrender. There was a small smile playing on his lips as if he had gotten the reaction he wanted out of her. It felt like both of them were ticking time bombs waiting to explode.

"What's going on?" I whispered to Serena and she shook her head.

"Everything is fine," she lied then I saw her visibly relax although the tension was still emanating from her body. "Can you come with me, please? I need to use the bathroom."

She didn't give me a chance to respond before she began to pull me away and towards the bathrooms. She pushed past people without a care in the world and for the first time, I saw her looking a little unsettled. She dragged us into the bathroom and there were two women there already. They took one look at Serena, packed up their things and left. She checked the stalls to make sure we were alone then locked us inside the bathroom.

"What was that?" I asked once she had locked the door. "You're acting like a possessed person. Is everything okay?"

"Liam is a rogue," she said and I scrunched my brows at her in confusion. "He isn't a human, he is a wolf but he is a lone wolf. That's why I felt something off about him. I don't know what he is doing here but it is obvious that he has taken an interest in you."

"Let me get this straight, a lone wolf is interested in me?"

She nodded and I couldn't help but laugh. When I returned, the last thing I expected was to be roped into a supernatural world with wolves. First of all, it was Darius and I was getting used to that but now a rogue had taken interest in me. It was so amusing that it was annoying and all I could do to prevent myself from losing my mind was to laugh.

"You wolves need to learn the word no," I said once I had caught my breath. "I am not going to do this with him. Darius is enough to handle. The last thing I need is Liam coming into my business."

"I think it's too late for that.” Her voice was soft and sympathetic. "Just try to avoid him and he might grow bored of you. You did say he was leaving town soon."

I ran my hand through my hair. Judging by how many times I had done that, I wouldn't have been surprised if my curls had become loose. I took another breath to calm myself and unlocked the door. I came out to have fun and I was not going to let anyone ruin it. I pushed open the door and every thought flew out of my mind when I came face to face with Darius.

"You make replaceing you very difficult," he said as a way of greeting.

He looked even better up close and for a second, I could not form any words. The next thing I knew, he grabbed my wrist in a firm but not bruising grip and began to pull me. I glanced back at Serena in a silent cry for help but she held up her hands to show me that she could not do anything. I knew I could jerk my hand out of his grip but for some reason I allowed him to pull me.

He dragged me over to a secluded corner of the town. There was not a living soul around us and I wondered how he knew the place would be deserted. He pinned me to the wall and when I tried to move, he caged me in with his body. All the breath left me and I stared at him with the meanest look I could muster. If looks could kill then he would have been six feet under.

"Let me go," I spat but he did the exact opposite and pinned me even further into the wall.

"You are so infuriating," he growled in my ear. "First you come out looking like this then you walk around with that boy and let him drape his hands all over you. I can smell him on you and I know he's a rogue. What the hell are you doing with a rogue?" "You do not get to talk to me like that," I pushed on his body but he did not budge. "I can talk to whoever I want at whatever time I want and you have no say in it. It is my business and not yours."

"Your business is my business. I have told you so many times and I will repeat it until it gets into your head. You are mine and what you do concerns me. You will not allow men to touch what is mine."

I used my free hand to slap him. "Fuck you."

He went silent and there were no sounds in the air save for our heavy breathing. I started to wonder if I had crossed a line by hitting him. The imprint of my hand was on his cheek and my palm was stinging from how hard I had hit him. Guilt and regret hit me like a freight train and I wanted to apologize but my pride would not allow the words to leave my lips.

"Darius," I began, unsure of what to say.

I had expected him to retaliate or yell at me but he framed my cheeks with his hands and kissed me. It took me a second to realize what he was doing and I tried to push him away at first but he kissed me even deeper. He kissed exactly like I thought, with fervor and dominance and with a lot of possession. He wanted me to know that I belonged to him and there was nothing I could do about it.

Somehow my hands went from pushing him away to wrapping around his neck and I pulled him even closer. I felt him smirk and I bit down on his bottom lip so hard that I tasted blood. He let out a growl from deep in his throat and I felt his hand slide down from my cheeks to pin my hips further into the wall.

"You are so fucking frustrating," he muttered against my lips and before I could respond to him, he kissed me even deeper and slipped his tongue into my mouth.

He explored my mouth with reckless abandon and I tried to fight him for dominance but I lost the battle before it even began. All I could do was try my best to match his pace. The kiss left me feeling lightheaded and slick between my thighs. I tried to squeeze my thighs together but he forced them apart and put his knee in between them. His knee brushed against my core and I let out a moan.

Darius pulled away and we were both gasping for breath. His lips were red and swollen and I was sure mine felt the same way. His hair was a mess from where I had unknowingly tugged on it and all it would have taken was for someone to glance at us once and they would know what we were doing. Awareness began to settle on me and I tried to create some distance between us but there was nowhere to go. "Why do you keep trying to fight us?" he asked as he buried his face in my neck to leave open-mouthed kisses there. "You want this, I want this. I never pegged you as someone who doesn't take what she wants."

"I don't want you," I murmured but we both knew I was lying. He nipped my neck and

I let out a gasp and rocked my hips forward desperate for some friction.

"That doesn't seem like someone who doesn't want me," he was smirking against my skin. "What's one night? I get you and you can get that release that you desperately crave. Can't you feel it, my cock sliding in and out of you while you beg for more?" "I don't beg."

"We'll see about that," he said it like a promise; like he had plans to make sure I begged him before the night was over. "I'm asking for one time, Leindra, just to get out of each other's systems."

To emphasize his point, he rocked his hips into mine and my eyes rolled into the back of my head. He was big- that much was sure and I wanted him inside of me. I couldn't

think with the lust and desire clouding my brain.

"I have one rule. It cannot be at your house."

He stiffened and I was sure that he was going to refuse and demand to have it there

and I was prepared to argue it with him because having sex at his house felt too

intimate and I did not want to do the walk of shame from there.

"Fine," he pulled away from me without as much as an argument. "I have just the right place."
