"Ah~ just a little cut won't hurt~" I incessantly moaned as I tore the skin of my wrist, letting the gold-ish blood wreak an even more pain onto my body. "Ahahaha~!! I need to share this delight with Kuzunoha later—maybe she knows the reason behind this phenomena, hehehe~"

It was working, my Sanity didn't diminish even further, while I was utilizing most of my brain and physical prowess to endure this hell~!

And all I needed was to trick myself to enjoy the pain.

Because the pain was much more kind than the horrifying reality of this world.

The water beneath the ship churned violently—something writhing in the distance, lurking beneath the waves. It was as if the sea itself had turned against me—no longer just water, but an entity bent on swallowing me whole.

But I focused too much on my painful ecstasy while trying to bring genocide to these relentless ghouls, so I didn't realize much on what was actually happening outside of this titanic deck.

An hour passed, though they felt like minutes, and I was still as relentless as a zombie could be—ironic, since I was currently fighting a horde of them.

My arms moved as if possessed, cutting down enemy after enemy, never allowing a moment of rest. My cruel blood pounded in my ears, a constant reminder of my will to survive. Even as exhaustion clawed at me, my heart hammered louder by the pain.

It was at that moment, I realized that some of my wounds started to heal themselves.

[Valtherion's Blood (Forced Foreignization): The dormant gene of the Valtherion race fuses with the host, granting them the ability to produce an all-healing substance through their bodily liquid. This substance can heal any wound, cure illness, and even regenerate lost limbs, making the host a living source of miraculous recovery.

The genetic enhancement also fortifies the host's vitality, making them resistant to physical and psionic corruption]

The Valtherion's Blood had finally embedded itself into my DNA, as they were naturally produced from my very own bone marrow.

At the same time, Kuzunoha had probably timed a spell to make it foreign to my own body. After all, the blood couldn't heal its own host, as they serve as a miraculous panacea for others only.

"Aaaa… Aahn~!!"

I gasped, horribly. Every inch of my blood vessels were fighting the cells on my body, before healing, and damaging it, again, and again—in an endless cycle of torment.

Yes, this is definitely something that I needed to stay sane in this fight. I didn't know if Kuzunoha planned all of this, or if this was a stupid coincidence—I shall ensure that my cunning secretary will be heavily rewarded after all of this is over.

But despite my worry for my Sanity gone like the wind, I started to notice that my Consciousness started to dwindle.

Well, I will be fine!

The fight continued. But this time, I possessed little to no conscience for my own safety.

For one, I was technically cursed with immortality.

For two, I was imbued with a miraculous self-healing capability.

I had no reason to not take that ax to the skull before plunging my silent Stormhook into that sailor's whole vertical anatomy. The Soulthread Aegis might be really damaged because of this careless fighting style, but I could just make better equipment later.

I'm also fortunate that I decided to not bring my Broken Gloamkeeper's Beacon, storing it inside Kuzunoha's arcane vault. Despite its halved efficiency, it was still a very useful tool that I don't want to lose.

In my current state, I dealt more damage and destruction to the unrelenting horde like there was no tomorrow. My efficiency skyrocketed.

If my hand was dismembered, I could just grab it mid air and reattach it, while my vicious blood was doing all the work—healing it as if nothing had happened.

Sometimes, I would just chuck my own exposed wrist bone at their faces, as their roots and plague barely affect me.

And every time I severely wounded myself, I was rewarded with a cathartic view of my shining golden blood making a beautiful arc in my respite.

What even better than all of that, was the fact that my all-healing blood acted like a deadly poison to them when in contact.

Maybe because they were already dead and cursed? Or maybe there was another rule to the healing capability of the Valtherion's Blood.

Regardless, I ended up coating every inch of my Stormhooks with these beautiful and glistening golden hues. Sometimes, I cut my artery and sprayed those undead sailors with my blood like some sort of pest.

"Is this torment~!? Or is this heaven disguised as hell~!??"

Okay, that was a little dramatic of me. I didn't have much fairest of mind when I was rampaging in this moment of time.

I was still able to think clearly and efficiently, however. For one, I remembered that I had already killed the captain of the ship more than 27 times.

He was one tough bastard, but I needed him to die from time to time to reduce the intensity of the abnormal phenomenon that he cast down to overwhelm me.

Just as when I finally got comfortable with the current development, the master of this realm decided that something needed to be changed.

I caught a glimpse of movement—something different amidst the grotesque crowd. The fog thickened around the center of the deck, swirling and pulsing like a living thing, and from it emerged something more than the sailors.

The air stilled.

A figure broke through the fog, his hulking form towering above the other cursed sailors.

Waterlogged flesh clung to his bloated frame, veins pulsing with the sickly green light of corruption. Barnacles and seaweed clung to his body like armor, his eyes glowing a sickly yellow beneath a captain's hat encrusted with salt and decay.

"Hahaha… HAHAHAHAHA~!!!" Emotions swirled inside me as if I was a mere vessel for them to destroy me and torn me asunder. "Haaa… I don't know if I'm happy or wary of you now. Thankfully, I still have my sanity, so maybe a little mix of both."

The Drowned Revenant had arrived.

He loomed above me, his presence twisting the very fabric of reality around him.

Waves of dread poured off him, heavier than the sins that I possessed. The tendrils that had been harrying me retreated as if in reverence to their master.

His bloated fingers gripped an impossibly large anchor, rusted and dripping with viscous seawater that splattered onto the deck like droplets of poison.

The Revenant's hollow eyes fixed on me, filled with a hatred that had festered for centuries beneath the waves.

"Om... mani... padme... hum..." His voice reverberated through the ship like a deep, echoing moan of despair. Every syllable rippled through the air, chilling me to the bone. "I am time, the great destroyer of the world, and I have come here to engage all people.

With the exception of you, all the soldiers here on both sides will be slain."

I tightened my grip on my Stormhooks, bracing myself for the inevitable clash. But as the Revenant raised his anchor high above his head, casting an enormous shadow over me, I felt a sickening twist in the pit of my stomach, even amidst the chaotic cycle of pain and healing from my glimmering gold blood.

This... this was different. The weight of his presence wasn't just physical; it bent the very world around me, pulling me into his twisted domain. I couldn't even make myself avoid it, or even think of avoiding it—as if I was being forced to embrace it.

And for the first time in hours, I felt a flicker of something dangerously close to fear.

But I shoved it down, my lips curling into a manic grin.

"Come on, then," I muttered, raising my blades in defiance. "Let's see if your curse can handle a storm~!!"

The Revenant's anchor descended with a bone-crushing force, the air around it howling as it came crashing down.

And in that moment, the world seemed to shatter.
