A note sat on top of the box contents, the words practically shouting from the

page: "EVIDENCE OF JENNA WRIGHT'S CRIMES."

Everything around Elijah seemed to fade as he shakily extracted the items one by one. With each piece of evidence, his expression darkened further.

Meanwhile, at the Phillips estate, Jenna was dozing in the sunroom when her phone's sharp ring jolted her awake.

She frowned, answering without checking the caller ID. "Who is this?"

A venomous voice replied, "Becoming Mrs. Phillips made you forget me already?"

Jenna's hand stilled before she let out a cold laugh. "Forget? How could I possibly forget?"

"You're the worst hitman I've ever hired. I paid you a fortune, and you couldn't even kill one person."

"If I were you, I'd have killed myself by now."

While she argued with the caller, a dark figure appeared behind the glass doors. Not even the fresh roses could soften the intensity in Elijah's eyes.

As Jenna ended her call, he silently pushed open the door and approached.

A moment later, an agonized scream erupted from the sunroom.

"AHHH!"

Thunder crashed as lightning split the sky. In the downpour, servants frantically carried a bloody body to an ambulance.

Jenna's blood pooled on the ground, gradually washing away in the rain. Black shoes stepped through the fading trails as Elijah walked away.

The chaos at the Phillips estate didn't reach Gloria in London. Before returning to her father, she'd carefully checked that her injuries weren't visible to others. She wanted a clean break with her past life.

Gloria didn't want her father or her future fiancé worrying about what had happened. But she didn't know that two people had already investigated her past.

Her father was one of them. From the moment he'd established himself in London, he'd wanted to bring his daughter over. When she suddenly agreed after years of refusal, he found it suspicious and looked into her recent life.

When the graphic photos appeared before him, this typically composed man erupted in rage. His precious daughter, whom he'd cherished from birth, had been abused by someone he'd trusted!

And Elijah had done this for a woman with multiple murders to her name!

Fury spread through him. He'd clearly misjudged Elijah. Yes, his daughter had made mistakes, but Elijah could have called him directly to handle the situation. Instead, Elijah had not only kept silent but repeatedly endangered Gloria's life!

If not for the years Elijah had genuinely cared for Gloria, her father would have returned to confront him immediately.

After calming himself, he decided to cut ties with the Phillips family. He'd repaid tenfold any expenses Gloria had incurred while living with them.

As a "thank you" for Elijah's "guidance," he sent two identical packages of evidence about Jenna's crimes—one to Elijah and one to the police.

He'd considered discussing this with Gloria but, seeing her reluctance to mention the past, ultimately decided against it.

The other person who investigated Gloria's history was her fiancé, Lucas Hayes, CEO of Hayes Industries.

As the future husband to the future Mrs. Hayes, Lucas naturally wanted to understand his bride-to-be's character to avoid future misunderstandings.

When he discovered Gloria's treatment at the Phillips estate, he was shocked- but shock quickly gave way to compassion. In his view, everyone had the right to pursue love.

While Gloria's initial pursuit of Elijah had been intense, once she truly gave up hope, she'd done everything to avoid him. Strangely, her withdrawal hadn't made Elijah back off.

In Lucas's eyes, Elijah bore greater responsibility. Even minimal investigation would have revealed his beloved's true nature. But love had blinded him.

Lucas's gaze filled with contempt for such foolishness as he tossed the documents into a fire. He watched them burn completely, leaving no trace.

He'd learned about Gloria's past only to understand her better. He would never mention it to his fiancée or allow anyone else to reopen her wounds.
