Chapter 23

Him standing only a few feet away from me, with no physical contact was torture. Our mate bond was getting stronger now. But I had to fight it, even if it felt like my bodg was engulfed in burning desire everytime I caught his smell. He was going to be a married man soon.

"Thank you mommy!" Zoey squealed before running ahead inside to quickly shower, since she was sweaty from practice. "Come in." I mumbled holding the door wider for him.

He nodded and stood tense by the counter. "You can have a seat Alpha." I chuckled nervously twirling a piece of my hair nervously. "Don't call me that. You're my mate." He huffed staring straight ahead.

"I'm not." I laughed shaking my head as I put the keys on the key holder and shrugged off my jacket. "Sarah has always been your girl." I added walking past him to the fridge and pulling out a smart water.

"Why are you so difficult." He groaned running his hand through his long hair. "How am I being difficult." I scoffed leaning back on the counter opposite to him. The very same counter he kissed me like I was the only girl for him. "You don't let me explain." He cried out.

"There's nothing to explain. You had a girlfriend when you showed up and asked us to be a 'family', then took me to the woods where you fucked me" I whispered making sure the twins wouldn't hear us. "Then your fiancee showed up! Your FIANCEE!" I slightly shouted before composting myself.

"We made love Ariana." He replied staring straight into my emerald eyes. "I made love to you. You screwed me over, more than once." I whispered knowing he would understand what I ment. The time he mated me then rejected me. The nights I stayed up, bawling my eyes out because of the pain in my chest. The feeling of someone lighting a fire inside my chest, like I couldn't breathe. Every single time he slept with Sarah. And for making me believe we might've made things work before rejecting me once more in public.

Lastly.... for making me fall for his charm once more.

"Ari-I'm ready!" Zoey interrupted stumbling on her feet as she ran into the kitchen. "Great. Lets go Princess." Caleb smiled clearing his throat. "Have fun baby. And no candy okay." I sniffed fixing her jacket and keeping my eyes casted down to make sure she didn't see the tears pooling in my eyes. "I promise mommy! I love you."she smiled softly kissing my cheek as she walked over to Caleb.

"Bye baby... Bye Alpha." I slightly bowed. From now on, Caleb will be my Alpha. Nothing more. Other than the twins father of course. But soon he'll have his own children he'll see grow from a fetus. He'll forget about all of us.

"Bye Ari." He replied shaking his head as he grabbed Zoe's hand and led her out the door.

As soon as he shut the door I breathed in deeply controlling the urge to run after him and beg him to take me back. To not forgot about us. But I had to be strong. I held onto my chest as the familiar pain hit me.

"Mommy are you okay?" I jumped startled to face Joey who was sadly gazing up at me. "I'm fine baby." I assured him standing up straight and pushing the pain away. "Come on let's get the living room ready. Jacob's coming over." He grinned up at me before rushing into his room to pull out blankets.

I laughed and started to push the couches until there was enough room for Joey, Jacob and me.

"Done!" Joey cheered as he laid the last Cars blanket on the floor. "No we're not." I gasped. "What we miss mommy?" He gasped looking around the room. "We have one stinky little boy and one over dressed mommy!" We both gave each other horrified looks before bursting out in a fit of giggles.

"Lets go shower and change into comfy clothes." I suggested. He quickly nodded kissing my cheek before running off to his room grabbing his cars pjs and shutting the bathroom door.

After we finished showering we put in some brownies in the oven while we were waiting for Jake.

"Honeeey I'm home!" Jake sang as he bursted through the front door. "Jake!" Joey yelled dropping his spoon with chocolate to run into Jacob's arms.

"Hey there Jo." Jake laughed hugging him back. "Hey Ari." He said putting Joey down and coming to kiss my forehead. "Hey." I smiled wrapping my arms around myself.

"Guess who brought ... Cars the movie!" He yelled pulling out a stack of movies. "Cars! Mommy he brought Cars!" He cried out jumping up and down.

"Why dont you go put it on baby." I laughed handing him the case. As soon as he got ahold of it he ran off to the living room.

"Popcorn?" I asked walking ahead to the kitchen. "Of course." He chuckled jumping on top of the counter. "With Limon and Chamoy." We both yelled out laughing. "I also brought some sour patch kids for joe and Zoey. Where is she by the way?" He frowned taking out the candy from his jacket.
