Chapter 71

"She's staying with us." I interrupted turning around to face Caleb.

His eyes widened but he nodded quickly.

"Of course."

Reaching up I kissed his lips before making my way back outside.

"Mari!" I smiled in relief wrapping my arms around my sister as she ran to me.

Mariah came seconds later engulfing the both of us as she kissed the top of my head.

"You stupid Luna." She joked.

"Ariana." Pulling away from the girls I turned to Adrian.

His face was solemn as he shook his head. "Sunny's parents died a couple years back."

Nodding I thanked him before excusing myself.

Walking around the families I gave my condolences, helping them with anything I could.

The morning quickly went by and the sun once more began to set as pack members laid their families into their graves.

Sunny continued to sleep with small hiccups escaping her lips as we set up the funerals for our family.

When the twins woke up I showered and changed them. Zoey was wearing a maxi black dress with no shoes. Her hair untangled and let down in her natural soft waves.

Joey had his long curled hair wild and he was dressed in a black button down shirt with black jeans and no shoes as well.

Sitting them with the rest of the pack kids I kissed their cheeks.

"Mommy what's going on?" Joey asked as he looked around the woods where our members were buried.

The pack were dressed with robes as they stood around the graves.

"This is what our family does when we lose someone special baby."

Making sure they were okay I walked to Caleb's side.

Nodding at him he turned back to the pack.

"It's time."

All together we looked up to the moon taking off our robes as we changed into our wolves. Howling at the moon for our loss of our family.

Watching everybody slowly make their way back to the pack house made me feel horrible.

Everyone lost someone.

"Baby girl." Smiling at Gerardo I hugged him as he kissed my forehead and

walked in the pack house. After making sure I was okay.

Roberto, Mari, Adrian, Jackson and my mother shortly following after.

Once everyone was in, I made my way to the woods where I saw the lady disappear to.

Nobody knew who she was except for Caleb but he didn't have time to explain.

Making sure to keep my footsteps light I followed the scent until it lead me to a clearing.

"Mom you shouldn't have came."

"Oh hush Vincent. My family was in danger. As stupid as this Heath guy was. He still had enough men to overpower The Crimson Pack." She scolded.

Peeking out from the tree I saw her hug Vincent as he shook his head at her.

"You can come out now sweetheart." Pulling away she motioned me to join them.

My face heated as I walked over to them.

"Hello Luna." She smiled wrapping her arms around me.

"Uh hello ..."

"Jossie De La Rosa. Your aunt." She grinned kissing my cheek as she pulled away.

No that's impossible... you're - no." I stuttered staring into her emerald

"Yes it is possible." She laughed as she looked away to look at Vincent.

"Wait you met your mate! That's how you had Vincent. I thought once you met your mate you began to age once more?" I questioned staring at them in confusion.

"Well mom you can explain. I'm exhausted." He groaned as he sat down staring up at his mother like a child.

"Okay. Well I'm sure you heard how we were practically thrown out of town." I nodded

"Well when we came back Dominic met his mate. And he began to age. But I, I didn't. I couldn't replace him. I searched all over this earth. But no luck." She frowned running her fingers through her brown hair.

"So I just stayed with my brother watching as his kids grew. Then I met him. The silly, goofy human that made me fall so stupidly in love." She laughed her eyes brightening at the memory.

"I knew it wouldn't work out. I wasn't aging and he was. But I loved him so damn much. He made me feel normal. Even though he knew what I was."Her fingers began to shake as she spoke. And I could hear the soft beat of her heart quickening.

"We got married." She laughed shaking her head. "Some idiots we were."

"That night when we consummated our marriage I ended up pregnant. With Vincent."

Vince smiled up at his mom before turning to me and nodding as to confirm the story.

"What happened to your husband?" I asked softly sitting next to Vince.

"Word got around that I was a hybrid and I was married with a human. The council- they... they tried to get to me. But Vinny was home alone that day, my husband. They killed him and left him as a warning. It was like I was six all over again. She breathed in as she clutched onto the end of her shirt.

"So I left Vincent with Dominic and

endangering them all. And I guess my baby here mostly got the vampire gene like me since he hasn't aged after eighteen." She sadly smiled running her fingers through Vincent's black hair.
