Chapter 53

Catalina's POV

After Gamma Lucas left Andrew and I take a seat on the couch.

"So what are we going to do until 5pm tomorrow?" I ask. Andrew looks at me a wiggles his eyebrows at me making me laugh.

"I need to preserve my energy." I say and he sighs.

"Then I'm out of ideas." He says and I laugh again. I get up and head for the door.

"Where are you going?" He asks.

"I'm going to my studio. Go get us some lunch." I say and head out the door. Andrew follows.

"Bossy lady." Andrew mumbles as he heads for the elevator. I giggle and walk to my studio. When I walk in, I can see it has been cleaned and restocked with supplies. I smile. Andrew is the sweetest man alive. I got so lucky to be with him forever. My hand touches my mark. I set up an easel and some paints. I sit there waiting for inspiration to hit me when I'm hit with something else.

"LINA WHERE ARE YOU?" Rachel really needs to work on her volume.

"I'm in my studio stop yelling." I say. I hear footsteps come to the door and she opens it laughing.

"Sorry girl I walked in your apartment and you weren't there. I didn't want to search for you. What are you painting?" She asks.

"Nothing yet." I say.

"Good then you can tell me what happened at the meeting." She has an excited look in her eyes. I smile and tell her everything that happened, about my shifting, about Jackson and the challenge, and about David.

"Wow that's a lot for one meeting. I can't believe Jackson thinks he can beat you. You literally can set him on fire." She says. And she not wrong.

"That's why I think he'll try and get to me beforehand. I'm basically stuck here until 5pm tomorrow." I tell her.

"Well I'll keep you company. Where's Andrew?" She asked.

"Getting us some food."

"Good I'll tell him to get alot." She says.

"Tell me about the Alphas, any cute ones?" This girl was too much.

"Actually yeah there was one." She smiles wide.

"Tell me!" She demands.

"He was tall, and had the most gorgeous green eyes you've ever seen. Oh and his body, don't get me started on his body." I say and she sighs. "You're talking about Andrew aren't you." I nod my head and laugh.

"No fun."

"I'm surprised you didn't bring wine." I say.

"I can't drink wine all the time. And besides we're out." She says annoyed.

"Where Murphy?" I ask.

"He's doing beta stuff. Helping with all the Alphas, since they are staying the night." She said throwing herself on the couch.

"Don't let me bother you. I will just be here reading and waiting for food." She says so dramatically I roll my eyes. I turn to my blank canvas and think about what to paint. And it hit me. I took out some paints and started painting. The image flowed from me and I was really focused. I didn't even hear Andrew enter with the food. But the smell draws my attention.

"Want to take a break and eat?" Andrew asks as he holds up the food. I smile at him and nod. Andrew got us tacos that were delicious. Rachel ate a lot and couldn't stop saying how good they were. Soon Murphy joined us and he ate a lot as always. I don't know how he eats so much. We chatted for a bit. And when I was done I went back to painting as they chatted.

Andrew's POV

I love watching Lina paint. It's been awhile since I've seen her do it. I love watching her focus on her brush strokes and the way she takes in the canvas. She's using a lot or reds, oranges, yellows, and black. I can't see what she's painting but I can see her eyes flicker across the canvas like someone reading a book. I think she feels me watching her because her eyes flick up to meet mine. She smiles at me and I feel completed by her. Im glad she is calming herself before tomorrow. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous for tomorrow. When I heard Jackson challenge her, I knew she would agree. She has grown so strong and confident, and it's only been a few months. She is not that scared girl that wouldn't even look me in the eyes. My heart aches with love and pride for my mate. Her eyes are back on her painting.

"So after the fight, when Lina wins they will vote again? How dumb. Who would vote against Lina after the a*s kicking she's going to do?" Murph says. I hear Lina laugh.

"Well honestly I'm surprised only one person challenged her, and the council was so accepting. But they are big on prophecies." I say and Murphy nods his head. Rachel yawns which makes Lina yawn.

"Looks like our mates are sleepy." Murph says with a smile.

"Actually I am pretty beat. I think I'll stop for now and we can go to bed. I need to rest is for tomorrow." Lina says putting her brushes down and walking over to me. She drapes one of her arms on my shoulder. I lean into her and she kisses my head. I love it, I love us, I love her. Murph stands up and offers a hand to Rachel. She takes it and stands.

"I'll see you guys tomorrow." Rachel says as they make their way out. Lina and I follow behind and head back to our apartment. She yawns a few more times as we make our way to the bedroom. I head to the bathroom to brush my teeth and pee. When I come out she is in bed waiting for me. She's the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She has thrown her hair up in a bun and is wearing one of my t-shirts to bed. She looks up and smiles at me.

"You just going to stand there, or are you going to join me?" She asks in her sleepy voice. Everything about her is perfect. I get undressed and crawl in next to her. I pull her in close and fall asleep with my mate.

Catalina's POV

I wake up early the next morning. I'm too nervous and excited to sleep. I get up and decide to take a hot bath. I look over at Andrew still asleep. I take in how handsome he is with his strong jaw line, his cute messy hair, his strong shoulders and arms, leaning down to his muscular body. And his abs leading to a v. He shifts drawing me out of my daydream. Sheesh maybe I need a cold shower instead. I get up without waking him and head to the bathroom. I run a warm bath and climb in. The warm water feels good and I lean back and close my eyes.

"Kayla, are we ready for this?" I ask her. I can't help my nerves.

"More than ready. And it's ok to be nervous. Only fools aren't nervous in the face of potential death. You have something to live for" Kayla says.

I think about Andrew, Rachel, Murphy, Jet, the packs, and the up coming war.

"What if I don't survive?" I ask her. She's quiet.

"Then you won't need to concern yourself with what happens next." She says.

"Everyone will die?"

"I can't see that for sure."

"Was I stupid to take this challenge?" I ask

"No! He will pay for all he has done. You are the High Alpha."

I love her attitude. Once the water was cool I get up and wrap a towel around myself and step out. I dry my hair and walk into the bed room. Andrew is still asleep. I decide to crawl back into bed, I am feeling really relaxed from my bath and manage to fall back asleep. When I wake up again the bed is empty but there is a note.

"My beautiful Lina,

I made coffee and I ran down to get some food. Just relax and I will be right back.

Yours forever Andrew"

I smile and roll over. The sun is up now, I wonder what time it is. I hear someone enter the apartment and sit up. I throw on one of Andrew's sweatshirts and head out into the kitchen. I see Andrew taking things out of a bag and he looks up at me and stares. Andrew's POV

My Goddess, she is beautiful. Her long red hair, messy from sleep, and her slender body in my oversized sweatshirt. Mark wants to take her right here. She walks over to me and looks at what I'm unpacking.

"Good morning." She says in her sleepy voice. It's enough to make me rip open the sweatshirt and pin her up against the counter. She looks up at me surprised at first but melts into a smile. I bring my face down to hers and kiss her. She wraps her arms around my neck and deepens the kiss. My hands travel up under the sweatshirt, only to replace out she isn't wearing any underwear. Mark growls in my head and I think I growl out loud because I hear her giggle. I pull her up to sit on the counter. I trail kisses down her neck as I step in between her legs.

"Andrew" her voice is breathy.

"Yeah?" I whisper on her neck. My hands pulling her hips into me. I nip at her neck and she moans. Her hands cup my face and she pulls it to meet her eyes.

"Maybe we shouldn't." Her voice is full of l**t and so are her eyes. I can smell her arousal and all I want to do is bend her over and f**k her. My hand goes to her thigh.

"But you are already so wet." I say as my hand goes to her entrance. Her eyes close and she blushes. My thumb replaces her nub and rubs it. She lets out a moan and I kiss her again. I feel her fingers on my waist band, I know she wants me. I lift the sweatshirt up and over her head. I pull her body as close to mine as possible. I kiss down to her n****es and she lets out another moan. She pulls down my shorts and underwear and her hand wraps around my d**k. She rubs it against herself.

"I thought you said we shouldn't." I tease her.

"I said maybe." She smiles.

"Then tell me what you want." I say against her b***t positioning myself at her entrance.

"I want you. I want you inside me." I cup her face and kiss her as I push myself inside her. She moans against my mouth but I hold the kiss. I pull her a** closer to the edge of the counter to give me better access to her. I leaned her back and soon I was fully inside her. I hooked my arms around her thighs and started thrusting in and out of her. She was so wet for me it drove me crazy. I was thrusting harder and harder. She was moaning with every thrust with her eyes closed.
