Awakened: Evolving to Godhood
Chapter 20: Dream

Chapter 20: Dream

“For your info, I am still a virgin that hasn’t gotten deflowered in any way. If you don’t believe my words, then marry me, and you’ll know after a night together.” She said those words in a seductive voice before walking away from him.

Everyone kept on looking at Lisa and Elliot in wonderment and bewilderment.

What a shocking scene this is!

They couldn’t help but keep on looking at the boy who used to be the weakest magician and the youngest princess of the Charlotte Family.

At that moment, instructor Nina’s voice sounded in the teenagers’ ears, waking them up from their stupor.

“Ahem! Group 11, please come to take the test.” She mentioned the names of a group of students, telling them to hurry up and get assessed.

The testing began once again.

While the last group went up to face the badass Metal Golems, Theo turned towards Elliot and said, “Man, you’re great. Any other person would have accepted her hand in marriage, or at least not refuse her as coldly as you did.”

“It isn’t as simple as it seems,” Elliot said with a helpless look.

“Care to tell what I am missing?” Theo asked, a teasing smile on his face.

“Lisa is beautiful and belongs to the richest family in the magician community, but I can’t compromise my interest and priorities for her. I would have knocked her up without hesitation if my priorities weren’t more important to me than chasing after the skirt of a rich beauty to live a lavish life.” Elliot expressed his real feelings.

Lisa was among the popular girl on the campus, the dream of many young men, and the youngest and most beloved daughter of the Charlotte Family, one of the famous families in the magician community, yet Elliot was only a young magician without any merits to his name and an orphan, a child without any parents.

It was a fortune for someone like him to even survive in a war-riddled world like this.

Accepting her hand in marriage would have allowed him to live in lavish life and given him a family, a place to call home, and only he knew the willpower it took to refuse her proposal.

“Oh, what are you interested in that makes you safe from the seduction of one of the most beautiful ladies in the magician community?” Theo asked with a look of anticipation.

“I’m more interested in exploring Xavier, the settlement of the Ancient Civilization, and their inheritance trials, and in completing said trials to obtain artifacts, magic knowledge, and various treasure that’ll help me become strong, evolve, increase my lifespan and push me towards the secret of space. I don’t want my life to end witnessing the wonders of Earth and Xavier only. I want to go far beyond that.”

Elliot had such thoughts since he was a young boy, but he couldn’t act on them.

He was helpless and powerless.

His parents also died, but thanks to their contribution, the Magician Association provided for him for years. But what they gave him was too little, only enough for him to get by day by day. He didn’t obtain magic coins, the main currency of the magician community, and only by using it can a magician purchase items such as pills, medicine, and so on, that help increase a person’s magic energy.

Now, however, he had obtained a godly artifact belonging to the Northern Duke of Dark Starlight.

He could use it to evolve endlessly.

He wanted to travel across the starry skies.

If Hell and Heaven mentioned in the myths exist, then he wanted to go to those places, possibly even revive his parents.

“Hahahahahaha!” Theo laughed out loud, unable to stop himself.

The glow surrounding Elliot has thickened by saying mere words, and it made him realize what a joke his eyes that could determine fate and destiny with a single look was before him.

“You think my dreams are something to laugh about?” Elliot’s eyebrows raised, expressing slight displeasure.

“Ah, no. Don’t misunderstand me.” Theo shook his head in a hurry, worried that the only human he could feel alive interacting with will turn away from him.

“Really? Then tell me about your dream?!” Elliot said, looking at Theo with a look that said, since I have told you about my dreams, you better tell me about yours, too.

“It’s the same as yours but not nearly as grand,” Theo replied, a lost in thoughts look on his face.

“Hmm?” Elliot hummed as he looked at him in anticipation.

“I want to stop the invasion of beasts that is taking place on Earth so that the people living behind walls made out of energy will one day regain their freedom and breathe under the blue skies without worries,” Theo replied, telling Elliot about his dreams.

Elliot didn’t have the heart to laugh at his dream, so he didn’t.

“It’s a good dream.” He said, a smile stretching across his face. “I hope you don’t mind me chasing after it too.”

“The more, the merrier,” Theo said jovially.

After a few moments, Elliot said, “I wonder how long it will take for the examination to finish.”

“Won’t be too long. Maybe five minutes or so.”

A lot of examinees tried to do their best in the last assessment, and some did better than the others, but their attempts to impress others seemed too desperate and ugly compared to Elliot.

A few minutes later, once all the examinees had cleared the last assessments, instructor Nina walked up to stand before them and said, “Congratulation on getting through the entrance examination. You’re now officially students of the magician academy. It’s time for you to get settled in the academy. Please step up the stone-caved path and head to the reception hall. There are many signs along the way that will help guide you to that place. The receptionists of the Reception Hall will hand you your uniforms, student ID cards, give you keys to your living quarters, and other stuff.”

“Ma’am, what about our rewards?” A student asked as the rest of them stood up to leave the room.

Nina looked at him and said, “The receptionist will hand it over to you.”

“Ah, okay, thanks.”

Several minutes later, once Elliot walked up the stone caved path, climbed stairs, followed the signs on green boards protruding out of the slightly curved slopes, and reached the Reception Hall, he saw a line of many stretching behind the counters.

“This is gonna take a while.”

He stood behind the 28th newly enlisted student, waiting for his turn, which came after several minutes of waiting.

“Name.” The receptionist, a short beauty with curly brown hair, asked as she looked at him.

“Elliot Vincent.” He gave her a reply.

“Okay, wait for a moment.” She said, tapping away at the keyboard.

A few moments later, after she stood up to get Elliot’s things from the cupboard and handed it over to him, she said, pointing at the things in his hand, “These are your academy’s uniform and key to your living quarters, and this is your Quantum Card. Out of the three of them, you must never let this card get damaged. The uses of this card are endless. It can hold your money for you, allow you to transfer money online remotely, and let you access different places in and outside the academy.”

“I will make sure to not lose it,”

Elliot said before storing the things in his spatial bracelet, stepping out of the Reception Hall, and making his way towards his new home, the place where he will be staying for two years.

Ring, Ring.

He had just reached halfway towards his destination when a voice rang out from his black spatial bracelet.

He pressed his thumb on the scanner in the middle of the bracelet.

A holographic screen showing the insides of the bracelet appeared in front of him.

He took a look at it and found out that the ringing voice was coming out from the quantum card.

“Huh? A message?” He said, confused by the message that has popped up in the front of his Quantum card the size of his hand.

He touched the white envelope shown on the front of the Quantum card with his thumb.

The message opened.

And what he saw widened his eyes in surprise!
