Awakened: Evolving to Godhood
Chapter 251 - God Of Gambling Is Back (c)

Elliot knew what the old robot was thinking. In his eyes, Robert was like an open book. He smiled, moved his gaze from him so slowly that Robert felt as if Elliot had all the time in the world. Then, he started whistling while admiring the artificial environment. He was impressed by the high-end technology of the soul race. Everything here, from the sky to the hovering traits of land, was managed by towering pieces of technology surrounding them from all sides.

"Ah~what a wonderful place."

Old Robert felt as if it was dreaming. It rubbed its eyes and then stared at him again, but he was still admiring the surrounding.

'What the fuck was going on?'

'Maybe this brat already believes that he won't win and has given up already!'

'Yes, that's very much likely to be the case!'

He came to such a conclusion in merely seven seconds.

Though, I was still feeling confused.

Why would someone give up without even trying to try his luck?

Was Elliot so rich that he didn't mind wasting 20 spirit points?

"What are you doing?"

Old Robert couldn't help but ask anyway.

He was just too curious.

"Giving you a handicap, bah."

When Elliot told the old robot that he would do nothing for the first thirty seconds, Robert couldn't believe his ears. This was the first time it was hearing something like that. And when it finally managed to register and make sense of his words, his jaw opened wide loosely in disbelief.

He didn't want to show Elliot such an expression, but it was an automatic response of his system!

"You look as dumb as the type who helps count the money of the people who sell them to traffickers."

While looking at the dumbfounded expression on the old robot, Elliot laughed leisurely.

"Hmph, I don't believe an arrogant brat like you is going to win even once," the old robot snorted.

At this moment, Elliot wasn't even looking at the old robot, causing him to express a furious expression. He was staring at the digital clock, which finally hit the one-and-a-half-minute mark.

"30 seconds are up."

To warm himself up, Elliot cracked his fingers.

"It's time to play."

After bringing the ticket close to his face, he used the first five seconds to glance at the number on the ticket. He managed to memorize them with a single look. Then, he used the next minute staring at the rocks.

The old robot thought that Elliot would lose as he hadn't even picked a single stone, and only 25 seconds were left. A grin crept up to the corner of his soft and plastic lips, showing that he had already labeled Elliot as a fool that only knows how to waste spirit points, be a wasteful prodigal son, and a cash cow to vendors like him.

"Ting!"

When only fifteen seconds were left, Elliot picked up a stone and placed it on the empty iron plate attached to the gambling machine. Its backside showed the number 1, the first number on the ticket held in Elliot's free hand.

"Eh? He's too lucky."

Robert's eyes blinked, but he wasn't too surprised.

In the past, many people had managed to pick up a rock with a number matching their ticket on the very first try. Elliot wasn't the first one.

'Moreover, he had only gotten one thing right, and it's not like he can win anyway.'

'Only twelve seconds are left before the window closes, and he loses his spirit points. What can a boy who is still wet behind the ears possibly do to flip the tides of the war?'

'Absolutely Nothing!'

'Thus, there is nothing for me to worry about.'

It was at this moment that the old robot jinxed itself.

"Ting!" "Ting!" "Ting!" "Ting!"

Old Robert only saw Elliot's hand moving back and forth between the rack with the stones in it and the iron plate attached to its sides. His right hand moved so fast that they left behind blurry afterimages, and each time his hand went out, a stone would be picked and be placed outside in the open.

"I'm done." Elliot said, "Feel free to inspect."

Before Old Robert even knew it, Elliot had placed five rocks with their backs facing him on the iron plate.

The old robot lowered his eyes and looked at the numbers on the ticket and the number on the back of the rock.

A moment later, his eyes widened like saucers!

"H-how is it possible?"

Not only had Old Robert's eyes widened so much that they threatened to pop out of their sockets, but his movements also became stiff and his speech incomprehensible. It was as if it had seen the newest wonder of the universe, something so great and hard to understand that his internal system started to malfunction!

Elliot had not only gotten all the five stones correct, but he had also picked them up in the same order mentioned in the fucking ticket!

What the hell was happening?

How was that even possible?

The probability of that happening was one in a billion light-years.

No one can be so lucky as to not only win in this gambling match but also win in such an overbearing way!

It was simply impossible for something like that to happen!

"Buzz!" "Buzz!" Unable to make sense of this situation yet still performing tens of thousands of calculations, every split of a second caused poor Old Robert to explode, some of his wires snapped, and electricity buzzed all around his figure.

"Trade secret," Elliot replied.

"Bullshit! You probably cheated," Robert roared, unable to accept his win.

His shout attracted many mechanical eyes to their direction.

Elliot noticed that he had somehow become the center of attention in this place populated by robots, and he immediately showed a frown on his face.. While glaring at Old Robert, he raised his voice to shout, "You're the one eating shit and spewing bullshit out of your mouth. Old thing, listen well, from where I come from, they say one can eat whatever but not say what they want without thinking twice! Tell me, do you have any proof that I cheated? Did you see me using something fancy to cheat, huh?"
