"I'm going to be gone for most of today but Jared will be at the bar," he explained. "I would tell you why but we aren't allowed to discuss business in here. I'm glad we at least got to spend the morning together."

He kissed my lips despite my protest about not having brushed and within the next hour, he was out. I wasn't disappointed because I knew it was the nature of his work but I was sad. There was always something pulling us away from each other and I was worried that someday, something would succeed.

I tried to push all those thoughts out of my brain and get ready for the day but I noticed I was extra sluggish. I couldn't tell why but my entire body just felt lazy and unmotivated. It took me twice as long to get ready and make my way down the stairs. Amy was almost done with breakfast when I got done and she looked worried for me.

I decided to finally pick up.

"It's Brandon," I rolled my eyes and was about to hang up. "Don't hang up, it is a matter of life or death."
