CHAPTER 32—AMELIA POV

His grip around my waist tightens as he leads me through the already open door of his house. We stumble in, not able to take our hands off each other as we step out of the darkness and into the lit-up house.

His house was just as grand as I remembered although I didn't have much time to look around as my back was pressed into the soft leather couch of his living room.

His gaze bore into mine as he hovered over me. In the few moments we were pulled apart, I had the time to truly appreciate his unfairly handsome features.

But this time it's not only his undeniable beauty that I see but everything he endured.

Every struggle, heartbreak, and pain he went through is so vulnerably evident on his face and my heart sinks as I finally comprehend it all.

I hold his face in both of my hands, placing small soft kisses across his face, starting at his forehead, across his temples and tracing his jaw.

Tears sting my eyes and threaten to spill. I can't believe how cruel I was to him and he's still here. Ready to be with me.

He kisses the skin under my eyes, wiping away and tears as his forehead leans against mine.

I wanted to run away, to hide and never see him again. To give him a chance with someone he truly deserved. Someone who could give him even a fraction of how much he could give them.

But I won't run away.

I won't hide, because Xavier wants me.

He deserves so much better, but he doesn't want it he wants me.

And if I can do anything, I can give Xavier what he wants. I can give in to him.

"La..." he breathes out, voice heavily laced with emotion.

My heart flutters in a way it hadn't for years. I put my arms around his neck, pulling him impossibly closer.

"I love you," I murmur quietly against him. A huge weight feels like it was removed from my chest as I finally admitted what I held in my heart for so long.

"I'm sorry it took so long." I slump my shoulders and lean against him, resting my head on his broad left shoulder.

"Don't apologize. Just promise me...that you won't leave me again because I don't know if I have the energy to do this again." He chuckles the last part.

Even though he was only joking I knew how exhausted he was emotionally and physically, waiting for me and constantly being denied.

But it's different now, I would make sure it is. I would spend the rest of our time together showing him what I can't say.

"I promise."

His tense muscles loosen at my confirmation. He turns his head, pushing the hair away from my neck and putting soft kisses there.

My body leans into him, furthering the pleasure only he could awaken in me. We swiftly switch positions so he's seated on the couch and I'm on top of him, straddling his lap as his lips work their way down my neck.

"Xavier..." I mumble, wanting to say more but unable to under the cloud of lust I'm in.

His large hands grip my waist tightly, I gasp quietly at the quickness of his movements, as his fingers press into my skin.

I move my head so his lips press onto mine. The kiss is hard, aggressive but loving. Lips fighting against mine, he swipes his tongue across my lip making me tingle.

I softly bite his bottom lip, separating him from me for a second. He groans quietly and I can feel his bulge against me.

He pulls my face close again, placing small pecks on my lips and jawline. His hands travel down to my legs, playing with the hem of my dress.

"Can I feel you?" His voice is raspy, but he looks up to me, seeking my permission. A sudden shyness overcomes me as I nod, failing to hide my blush. It's not like he hadn't seen any of me before.

My thighs, that were tightly squeezed shut, open a little, making enough space for his hand to caress the skin between my legs.

He massages and rubs my thighs with his rough hand, using the other one to pull my face closer to his and kissing me again.

His cold hand slides higher, sending a shiver down me. He's looking at my thighs as he caresses them, almost like he's admiring my body. "...So beautiful," he whispers.

I bring his lips back onto mine, trying to distract myself from what he's doing with his hand, which is now under the skirt of my dress.

I fumble with his belt buckle, eventually managing to pull his belt off and unbutton his

slacks. My hand rubs over his boxers, getting him even harder.

His middle and index finger tease my opening, swirling around it.

"Can I?" He looks at me with concern, which vanished as soon as I nod my head. My eyelids feel heavy, and he rubs his fingers on me.

Both of his fingers gradually enter me, and I grab his shoulders for stability as he slowly moves his fingers. I moan shamelessly as he quickens his pace.

I lean back against his hand, gripping his shoulders to make sure I don't fall back.

Heavy breaths and sweaty chest pressed against each other as we both pant. Silently, he picks me up, my naked skin pressed against his own and walks up to what I'm assuming is his bedroom.

The door opens with a click, and he puts me down on his bed before lying next to me.

I turn to face him, cautiously holding his face and staring into his eyes.

And we both fell asleep, contently, under the stars of the sky.
