172 Answering The Humanoid Demon’s Offer

Blake might have thought a lot and throughout about the humanoid demons’ offer. However, it didn’t take him a long time to get to his decision.

Before the humanoid demon repeated his offer again, Blake opened up his mouth and finally gave them his answer.

“No.” It was a very short, yet very clear answer. But Blake had a few more bits to say to the group of humanoid demons.

“You guys will only slow me down if I bring you with me.”

Blake’s statement was true. And it didn’t even need a long time of thinking to reach that conclusion. From just a simple fact that he, Robus, and Cyra could move twice or maybe even three times faster than them was already a given fact considering that Blake and Cyra would be riding on top of Robus’ back most of the time.

If Blake had to herd all those 11 humanoid demons, then he would be wasting his time walking slowly to reach the other humanoid demons’ base that Blake didn’t actually know how far because the large map didn’t have any kinds of written measurements for Blake to refer to.

And not even saying that those humanoid demons were probably only useful for hunting weaker demonic beasts or even cutting wood. They wouldn’t be able to fight tens of themselves alone and come out as a victor, which was what Blake, Robus, and Cyra would certainly do once they reached the other base and found other humanoid demons.

Blake’s and Robus’ goal was to increase their strength and get stronger while Cyra just wanted to play. And both reasons had somehow coincided with each other as Blake and Robus needed to defeat enemies and eat their souls while Cyra’s definition of ‘Playing’ was apparently quite limited to throwing her flames around, which very often led to casualties.

Taking the humanoid demons in did have some benefits, but the disadvantages far outweigh the benefits.

.....

Blake had never been a leader type before and he didn’t have any experience in that type of thing as he didn’t even get into a circle of friends back when he was still in the human world.

Let alone in formal settings where people like him who couldn’t use magic, or more precisely the human’s magic, was literally worth nothing.

Traveling together with Robus and Cyra was not a problem since he would just think of it as the three of them working together to survive, fight enemies, and get stronger together.

The three of them had the ability to take care of themselves and not a single one of them had to take care of the others for them to survive.

But the case with the humanoid demons, they were much weaker than Blake, Robus, and Cyra that even if any of the three were not in top condition and they only have half of their strength left, they would still be able to take care of all the humanoid demons in the group.

Blake wouldn’t want to be in charge of others’ lives especially when they couldn’t even take care of themselves in normal circumstances. He didn’t have any experience doing that and he wouldn’t want this to be his first time doing it.

‘Moreover, it’s not like I would really enjoy my time with them if they can’t even speak properly and we couldn’t understand each other that well...’

“However, you all still could help me a bit though.”

Blake then opened up his palm and started gathering his nether there. Cyra, without Blake saying anything, had already done the same and also created a fireball in her hand, one that had more fire elements compared to Blake.

Seeing his new friend already knew what he was trying to do, Blake smiled and nodded his head toward her.

‘Maybe she was just that violent in nature to already think about what I’m thinking before I even think about it...’ Blake thought to himself as the fire elements gathered in his hands that had also turned to a dark flame fireball began to pulse with fire elements threatening to go out of control any second Blake let loose of his control over them.

The humanoid demons had all raised their heads when they first heard Blake’s voice finally answering them.

But when they all heard Blake’s rejection and the dark flame fireballs appearing in Blake’s and Cyra’s hands, they all instantly knew what that meant.

Without even warning the others or telling them to run, the frontmost humanoid demon, the one that was in charge of the talking all this time, which was also probably the most intelligent of the group, turned his head, along with his body around and started kicking the ground as hard as he could to get away from the location.

It took the other humanoid demons about a second longer than the frontmost humanoid demon, but with the obvious clues, and the first humanoid demon’s act to run away, they all quickly followed suit and started scattering everywhere around the area.

Unfortunately, just like how Blake could finish drawing a set of runes in under a second, in just a second, he had also gathered enough fire elements in his hand to create a head-sized dark flame fireball that contained enough nether to instantly break through his darkness barrier and create an explosion big enough to catch 5 humanoid demons if he were to throw the fireball towards them.

And that was exactly what he did.

Casually throwing the bundle of fire elements, the dark flame fireball finally left Blake’s palm and flew over toward the group of humanoid demons. So did Cyra’s fireball, doing the same as Blake’s, but in the opposite direction.

The humanoid demons might have tried to scatter themselves and run away as far as possible.

But only so much could happen in a whole second, and completely separating themselves from each other to avoid being hit by an AOE – two AOE attacks were not one of them.

With Blake’s fireball to the right and Cyra’s fireball to the left, at least 8 of the poor humanoid demons turned to scorched carcasses and a few more had parts of their bodies charred black.

The unfortunate ones, or rather, the fortunate ones that had an instant death already had their souls floating above their bodies while the other ones that still had the capability to move were now really scrambling for their own survival.

But with a huge gorilla that took a second too late to realize what his best friend was trying to do, leaping into the air and coming after the stragglers, the fate of the humanoid demons was already sealed.

With the distance between Blake’s group and the humanoid demons only being a half-shouting distance away, it was short enough that a single powerful leap was all that Robus needed to reach them and tore their bodies apart.

Robus’ method might have seemed crude compared to Blake’s and Cyra’s that seemingly just waved their hands leisurely and men-slaughter level of attacks came out of their bodies, but Robus didn’t care about any of that.

Blood of the humanoid demons washed over him as their bodies were torn into two separate pieces or their bodies were mushed to half their original size. And souls came out of their bodies, which then Robus gulped up and increased his strength. That was what the huge gorilla cared about.

In just a short 10 seconds, all 11 humanoid demons had perished off of the face of the first demon realm. Well, at least their souls had all been absorbed inside three creatures’ bodies while their body remains were still there, not one of the three creatures that had done it to them had any plans to take care of that.

Blake and Cyra also had their fill of souls, the humanoid demons were not very weak and each of the three creatures had more than 10 souls worth of souls from those 10 humanoid demons.

But it was still far away from Blake’s target.

Hence why he soon departed from the humanoid demon’s base, leaving the destroyed base behind, still in a completely desolate state with all the native humanoid demons still running away to safety and avoiding the base.

With the map he saw in the wall completely memorized in his head using his photographic memory, Blake led the two other creatures that traveled along with him without fail, heading straight to the nearest humanoid demons’ base from the current one that they were currently in.

It was the closest base that he found on the map with the other ones being drawn far further in the map, and the base that they were heading to was in the same exact direction that the flying humanoid demon was flying to.

‘Guess he was heading there too to ask for his kin’s help.’

The base was located near a written landmark, which was called ‘The Forest of The Beasts’. From the drawings, and obviously from the name of it, the base was located right next to a forest, similar to the current base that Blake was in.

However, the Forest of The Beasts in the drawing was much, much bigger compared to the forest that he was currently in, comparing the two was like comparing a backyard to a football field.

However, a ginormous forest was not something that Blake and Robus were unfamiliar with. In fact, it might be the closest thing they were very familiar with on the main continent, outside of the huge island that was entirely filled with a forest of greens, which was their home.

So with a sense of adventure and a desire to get stronger filling their bodies, Blake, Robus, and Cyra made their way to the south base of the humanoid demons.
