"W-what?" I ask my body beginning to shake more than it was before.

"Did you think drowning you in cold water was a torture strategy?" Jalex raises his eyebrows as he leans down in front of me. I push myself as far back as I could, keeping as much distance between us as possible. "Oh no, no. I'm just trying to keep your temperature down so you don't die on me. A shewolf's heat can be lethal, fatal even."

My jaw clenches as he pushes through my safe space. His nose brushing against the side of my temple as he dares to connect his lips to my skin.

"Tell me, is he scared?"

I release a breath I didn't know I was holding. "You should be the one who's scared. After all, he did kill your daddy."

"Yes, he did kill them and for that he will suffer an unbearable death."

"Them?" Confusion laced my tone. Who's them? Ajax only killed the man who violated him and his father who allowed such horrible events to take place.

A dark chuckle rises from his chest as he pushes his hands through my tangled hair causing me to flinch. His touch was soft at first but became rough quickly. He pulled on my hair tightly, bringing my face closer to his.

"If you know anything about that pathetic son of a bitch's battle plan, I will give you

a death more unbearable than his." He practically roared in my face. With a violently shove he releases his hold on me, my head bouncing off of the wall behind me. I clench my jaw in anger, trying not to release any painful noises. I didn't want to give these people anymore satisfaction I'm done crying like a weak child.

"You're all, fools." I sigh and rest my aching head on my knees.

"Shut up, bitch." Cynthia sneers. I don't bother to look up as a set of foot steps begin to descend the stairs.

My eyes close tiredly and my mind immediately pictures my mate. Once I feared him so greatly that I risked my life to get away from him and now I want nothing more than for him to come get me. To rescue me.

I shouldn't need him to rescue me. I am better than this. Although these silver chains don't leave me with much of a choice.

"Alpha, the warriors are lining up now as we speak and will be ready for battle in thirty minutes. There has been a wolf detected a few yards outside of the territory lines, what would you like to do." Ted's voice is taught and strict, almost scaring me. That man is too uptight for his own good.

"Great. Whomever they are, kill them. Also I want her ready for transport, grab the other chains."

"Right away, Alpha." Ted exits the basement and I lift my head just in time to see Jalex and Cynthia leave along with him.

Once the creaky old door shuts I admit to yanking at the chains once more. A small grunt escapes my lips as all the energy leaves my body, causing my limbs to fall limp. I don't know why I keep trying, each time I fail.

I rest my still aching head against the cool wall and wait. Wait for opportunity to strike.

I'm not sure how much time had

how

passed, but could feel myself become a bit warmer. It felt nice to not shiver violently and I feel a bit stronger. I'm not going to try yanking at my chains though. I search the ground for anything sharp could possibly pick the lock with but all I could replace was a small pebble. How useless is that?

More time passed and I hadn't heard a peep from the three freaks who captured me. My mind did wonder about Siren. She seemed genuinely afraid when Ted dragged her away. It was sad how badly she wanted to please Jalex. I don't know what he's promised her, but I'm sure he hasn't delivered. It seems to me he treats her like trash.

"Ted!" Someone from the first level

of the floor shouted. I could tell they were on the first floor because with these silver chains on I could here any farther than that. They must've left the door open a crack. There was a shuffling of foot steps before the creaky door swung open and two sets of foot steps could be heard descending the stairs.

Ted and some other burly looking werwolf appears before me carrying a ripped army green duffle bag. He dropped it on to the floor lazily and gave me a smile. His dark eyes and greasy hair gave me bad vibes. Who was this guy.

"Well aren't you pretty?" He chuckles as he bends down to unzip the duffle bag.

"Shut up and keep it moving. Boss wants her upstairs and out of here with the rest of us in five minutes." Ted says pulling on a thick pair of black leather gloves. Is he going to remove my chains? Is this my chance to escape?

My heart rate increased slight at the thought of getting out of here. My thoughts faltered as I imagine taking on the both of these men. Would even be able to take down ted on my own? Gosh I am the most pathetic Alpha female I've ever met. I'm sure cipher would've figured away out of this, she's a bad ass. Hell. I'm sure Cipher would never even get caught in a mess like this. Only an idiot like me could manage do something so dumb

I watch carefully ad Ted removes a lighter and smaller pair of silver chains from the duffle bag. Great, I'm really never going to escape. He gives me warning glare, almost begging me not to do anything stupid. But like I said I'm an idiot.

The moment Ted gets close I lurch forward and take a bite out if his jogger clad legs, my fangs tearing through his pants and flesh.

"What the fuck?!" He growls jumping back and nearly falling. He drops the silver chains and grasps on to the fresh wound. I spit out the metalic tasting blood and smile a little. "You fucking crazy bitch!"

The man behind him begins to cackle, nearly falling over from laughter. "Oh jeez! She got you good!" He had a bit of a southern accent which made me wonder where he's from and whats he doing way out here in the east.
