God of Crime: Strongest Mafia Boss
Chapter 259 CH 253: WHO REALLY WON?

Adam ignored the shivering devil, frightened by the change of his eyes, and focused on the new sights and the world he was observing with renewed eyes.

Everything felt different than before. Far more different. All the colors of the world had faded, leaving an achromatic world filled with only the colors of black and white. The only source of color in this achromatic world were merely crimson lines that seemed to be covering everything in existence, be it his body or all the bodies that were present in this place.

Technically speaking, he had not become stronger in any meaningful way after his revival. His Prana rank had not increased a single bit nor did his overall stats. In fact, none of his stats or characteristics had taken a leap in the short time that he died.

But even then, Adam understood that he had taken one more step toward a world that was beyond the scope of humanity…

He looked at the scenery surrounding him and for the first time, he realized that he could observe a greater part of the world. One that he was never able to observe before.

A new power dwelled inside of him and he was able to see the world in a new light through them…

"Those eyes…"

'My eyes?'

Adam looked at Xezbeth but couldn't replace in himself the desire to speak to the devil. Right now, he wanted nothing more than to just kill him and be done with this tiresome night. He needed to rest his weary mind.

"Let's end this."

Adam moved at those words.

All he did was just take one step. A step toward his foe…

Xezbeth tried to move as well, but from Adam's perspective, he simply looked slower than a crawling snail. It felt like he was not actually moving but rather crawling his way toward him. Adam had already pushed his accelerated perception to its maximum potential and the world had thus come down to a crawl in his eyes and mind.

"How can you move so fast!?"

Xezbeth screamed out his shock but Adam only looked at him in disinterest.

"Why should I tell you?"

One needed to be an utterly stupid brute to explain the way their skills worked to their enemies. Thankfully, he was not such a person.

Whoosh~

Steam rose from Adam's body as he released a sigh from deep within; the internal heat of his body increased at a rapid pace while the air around him, the air that was in direct contact with his body, was slowly becoming colder and colder. The difference in the temperature between his body and the air was causing steam to rise from the place they made contact with each other…

His stats had not changed a single bit. That was the truth. He was simply finally able to use a technique he had been thinking of since he had fought Cecilia on that flat plain.

A mixture of more than 4 different operations of his skills…

❰Wide Gravity Increase❱ + ❰Self Gravity Decrease❱ + ❰Accelerated Perception❱

Finally, combining all of this together synthesized into a whole new technique. A technique that allowed him to move at crazy speeds.

❰Burning Blood❱

The fight between the devil and Adam started anew at full throttle. One of them was able to move fast due to their superior stats paired with the millions of years of experience they had gathered throughout their lifetimes and the other was able to enact the act by using their self-made skill that was basically a combination of many skills to accelerate their body beyond the cognition range of the devil.

Only this time, Xezbeth was the one being cornered. Not only was Adam faster than him but now he had the power that Xezbeth recognized as being the power of Death itself.

"Why is a primogenitor interfering in the affairs between humans and devils!?"

Xezbeth could not accept this outcome. What was the probability that such a being would appear in this place and be on the human side so much that he would help them thus?

In the first place, how could the abominations created by Cain even become able to use the power of Death like him? This should have been an innate power that only belonged to Cain and Cain alone as the testament of him being the First Murderer, bringer of death to the world.

'Fuck! We need to change our plans.'

Xezbeth was fighting while trying to think of the best way possible for him to succeed in this tricky situation. Now that he knew Adam could actually hurt him, this fight now had a whole new meaning and stakes attached to it. Dying in the mortal realm would be the greatest insult of his life and he couldn't allow himself to take something like that lying down. He needed to get out of this scenario at all costs.

"You leave me with no choice."

Xezbeth growled under his breath. He had been hesitant about using it since it would be a great waste of energy – energy that he did not have to spare in his current situation – but now, he was not really left with a choice in that matter.

"Very well. You are worthy of witnessing my full might."

The body of the child Xezbeth possesses starts to change in a grotesque fashion. Becoming bigger and more menacing than ever before. All possible human traits vanished from the child's body as it finally reached more than 3 meters in height.

"Roar!!"

Roaring towards the heavens Xezbeth moved his humongous body. One could have thought that in such a hulking shape his speed would drop sharply but that was not the case. Instead, he had become even faster than before and was now capable of pushing back the effects of gravity on his body that had been created by Adam's powers.

His fist was finally able to reach Adam and capitalizing on this chance, he punched him in the face, pummeling him with all the might that he was able to generate with one of his hands.

The ground of the island vibrated and threatened to sink down due to the force of his power. When he finally looked down, he realized that Adam was reduced to nothing but splatter and he was finally able to leak out a sigh of relief…

'I should seal his body somewhere.'

Now that Xezbeth knew that this man shared the same curse and power as the unholy behemoth— Cain himself… He realized that Adam was certainly not dead and the only way to deal with immortals like him, when you did not have their natural counter to suppress them, was to put them down in some sealed places indefinitely and let the people of the future deal with the incoming disaster.

"Lord Lucifer, I finally accomplished your—"

"Where are you looking at?"

Xezbeth stopped his words and looked beside him. On his right, he could see Adam crouching down and smiling maliciously. At the same time, the body of the one he had beaten slowly morphed as if the light had been taken away from him, and what was left was the disfigured body of one of the believers.

Looking at this, rather than exploding in anger, Xezbeth became noticeably calmer. He knew that in extreme situations, only a calm head could change the flow of a battle.

"Since when."

"Since the moment you crossed eyes with me."

Creating illusions was not hard for him. But plunging people into dreamlike illusions without making eye contact was pretty hard in itself.

From Adam's perspective, Xezbeth had simply been moving around and punching in space all alone before finally coming down, and grabbing one of his subordinates to punch him until death.

Adam would have wished to simply sneak in and slice his throat, and do the job. But that would be a complicated task due to how attuned with Prana people at his level were. If Adam came too close to the devil with the intent to kill, the guy would notice it and counterattack.

Beyond that, he wished to capture the devil and get some information from him. Despite his inexperience, even Adam realized that two devil summonings in less than a month were in no way possible unless there was a greater syndicate behind it.

Something was going on. Something that could stir the very foundation of the Supernatural World.

Xezbeth sighed, "Tricking the Devil of Lies and Deceit, huh? Surely this is something that had never happened before. Nor will it ever happen again…"

It was really frustrating for him. Because of his condition, he was unable to really use the power of his concepts. He was no different from a tiger without his fangs and claws.

He could still fight…

But at their level, pure physical strength was nothing more than a small bonus.

"I have lost."

Xezbeth's defeat was clear. He could feel the burning holy dagger in Adam's hand and knew that it was about to plunge into his chest any moment if he just lost focus for even a moment.

"If I was able to… No. There is no need for excuses."

If the woman had not baptized her son.

If the woman had not died here.

If, for some reason, she had not been the one to bring the awakening of this boy.

So many little ifs. But only one of them missing would have been enough to change the outcome of this fight in its entirety.

"For a Devil of Lies, you are rather straightforward."

Xezbeth chuckled at those words and stood up, showing the staggering difference in height between the two of them.

"Warrior, before dying in this worthless place let me make one thing clear."

A bloody grin formed on his face, "I did not lose to you."

He pointed in the direction where Hae-Won's corpse was.

"I lost to her."

A sense of alarm rose in Adam's mind but by the time he reacted, it was already too late. An intense light rose from Xezbeth's body and his body swelled even more before finally exploding in a blinding light.

BOOM~!!!

What was the result of the explosion of someone at such a level?

In a way, one could say that it was no different than a small atomic bomb going off and severing everything from the face of the earth.

And Adam…Was at the heart of this very explosion. Running was useless, after all, he could not outrun light itself. Not with his current capabilities at the very least.

Even as death once again colored his world, Adam could only show a bitter smile as a flurry of messages rushed into his mind.

When Adam came back to himself a few hours later as his body was recreated from scratch, he found himself alone above nothing but the sea and the barrier that was slowly vanishing in thin air.

It was as if nothing had ever existed in this place. But all Adam could do, was to look at the messages he had received just before dying with bitterness swelling in the depths of his heart.
