The family doctor shuddered slightly, his voice falling silent. He walked quietly to the bedside and began preparing a medication to inject into Norbert. His face was etched with apology, pain, and helplessness. Who, living in this world, hasn't known suffering?

The medication continued to be administered. Norbert never regained consciousness, yet his breathing remained faintly present.

In her slumber, Morwenna found herself in a dream with Norbert Hetfield and Melvin. The two men were sitting together, playing chess, while she sat nearby, peeling an orange and watching them play.

"Norbert Hetfield, will you leave after this game?" she asked.

"Yes," Norbert replied gently, "Once this game is over, I must go. You should head home, my dear." "Then take your time," Morwenna pleaded, her voice tinged with a child's insistence.

Both Norbert and Melvin fell silent, concentrating on their game. Black and white pieces clattered softly onto the board, and Morwenna grew anxious. She wished they could play slower, fearing something ominous lay at the game's end.

Finally, the last piece was placed. Melvin and Norbert tidied the chess set with serene smiles, gazing at Morwenna. She continued to eat her orange, but suddenly, it tasted too sour, bringing tears to her eyes. Melvin waved to her with a gentle smile. "Goodbye, Wenna," Norbert said with a warm, paternal tone. As Morwenna felt a desperate urge to follow, someone grasped her hand tightly.

"Let me go!" she exclaimed.

"Morwenna! Are you trying to escape? I won't allow it; you can't leave my side!" a harsh voice spat.

Startled, Morwenna turned to see Stuart's menacing face.

"Ah!" she gasped, waking abruptly.

Disoriented, Morwenna found herself not in Norbert's room, but inside a car. Whose car was this? Where were they headed?

Confusion clouded her mind, her head throbbing from the lingering effects of alcohol, making it difficult to think clearly.

Just then, a voice next to her spoke, "Ms. Winslet, you're awake. Are you alright?"

Morwenna turned to see Claude in the car with her, her mind a whirl of chaos. Norbert Hetfield was in trouble, yet she couldn't grasp what she should do, only knowing she needed to be by his side.

In a hoarse voice, she insisted, "Take me back. I want to be with Norbert Hetfield."

Claude's voice was gentle as he tried to soothe her. "Ms. Winslet, I'm taking you somewhere safe. The Hetfield family can't harm you anymore. Phineas won't be able to threaten you again."

But Morwenna seemed not to register his words, her resolve unyielding. "Take me back. I need to stay with Norbert Hetfield."

Claude's eyes narrowed slightly. He had gone to great lengths, even bargaining with Phineas, to get Morwenna out. There was no way he would take her back.

"Ms. Winslet, Norbert is gone. There's nothing for you there. Going back will only let Phineas use you," Claude said with a stubborn edge to his voice.

Morwenna's eyes widened. She had known, deep down, what the outcome would be, yet hearing it was unbearable. How could Norbert Hetfield just be gone? He had promised they were family, that he would watch her marry and have children.

"I... I need to go back! I need to go back!" Morwenna cried out, reaching for the car door despite the vehicle still in motion.

Claude's expression shifted as he swiftly rendered Morwenna unconscious to prevent her from harming herself.
