How the Ice King Became my Doting Billionaire Husband -
Chapter 456
Orson was there, so it was certain Morwenna was too.
Back in the Hetfield family days, Orson would follow Morwenna around like a lost puppy.
"Great job, folks! Your bonuses for this month will be doubled. Assign a few more people to guard that villa. Once I wrap up my current tasks, I'll head over myself!"
In Claude's villa...
Orson, having finished roughing someone up, was feeling a bit bored.
He was the restless sort, and when left with nothing to do, he would roam around Claude's villa, making himself at home.
"You must be Claude. My family's Ms. Winslet mentioned a clever kid she tutored, and that's you, right?"
"Claude, you're like a statue, not saying a word. Ms. Winslet always said young boys should be full of life."
"Aren't you bored? Want me to teach you how to use a slingshot? Ms. Winslet gave it to me, you know."
Every other sentence out of Orson's mouth was about Ms. Winslet.
In the past, Orson's catchphrase was "my uncle says..." because he believed his uncle was wise.
Now, it had shifted to "Ms. Winslet says..." Not because she was more insightful than his uncle, but because she gave him a slingshot, malt candy, and always included him in her fun.
Claude initially didn't want to engage, but hearing it was a gift from Ms. Winslet piqued his interest, and he got up to join Orson in the yard.
Orson was shooting with his slingshot, hitting targets with impressive accuracy, landing seven or eight out of ten shots.
"See? I'm quite the marksman! Ms. Winslet taught me herself," Orson bragged.
As he aimed and chatted, a person suddenly appeared in front of him, startling him. "Whoa, what are you doing popping up like that? I almost hit you!"
Orson didn't understand Claude's connection to the Hetfield family, so he treated Claude like any other kid under Ms. Winslet's care.
The relationship between Claude and the Hetfield family was a secret known only to the immediate family and Oswald Brown. Norbert had gone to great lengths to keep things under wraps. No one talked about Stuart, and naturally, no one talked about Claude. swnovel
Claude, with a stern expression, looked at Orson. "Why would Ms. Winslet tell you so much or teach you to use a slingshot?"
Claude was naturally suspicious and disliked outsiders. If not for Morwenna, he would have never left his house.
He didn't usually care about others, but now, he felt a twinge of jealousy towards
a bodyguard who seemed to lack common sense.
Orson replied matter-of-factly, "Because I'm Ms. Winslet's bodyguard! Norbert told me to watch over her, but then she asked me to look after Norbert, too. I guess I didn't do a good job since Norbert got really sick." sŵnovel
Orson's mood dampened as he spoke.
Norbert was gravely ill, and despite Orson watching over him every day, no one at
home had informed him. He felt he had failed Ms. Winslet.
Claude wasn't concerned with Orson's long-winded explanation.
He was surprised to replace himself envious of a mere bodyguard who had a légitimate reason to be by Ms. Winslet's side. But what about him? What was his connection? swnovel
Ms. Winslet was technically his sister-in-law, but neither he nor Stuart wanted to acknowledge that family tie.
Beyond that, there were only those two months of tutoring that linked them.
Still, he couldn't help but feel envious.
Claude took out a charming little trinket and dangled it before Orson. "Ms. Winslet gave me this too," he said, as if trying to assert some connection of his own.
