Adelaide was a sight of bruises and vacant stares as she wrapped her arms around herself.

Her clothes were torn, and she numbly pulled on an oversized sweater from her closet.

Without bothering to clean herself up, she picked up her phone and began dialing.

She knew that wallowing in despair was useless; she was determined to drag Morwenna down with her.

She wanted Morwenna to fall into the abyss she found herself in.

Adelaide's mindset had twisted beyond recognition.

Despite everything that had happened, Morwenna wasn't truly to blame, yet Adelaide harbored the deepest hatred for her.

She believed Morwenna's arrival had disrupted her once-peaceful life.

In truth, even without Morwenna's presence, Adelaide's idyllic dream would have soon shattered.

Stuart was a cold, heartless man, and though Adelaide had once saved him, his favors were finite.

When Stuart decided he'd repaid his debt, Adelaide would mean nothing to him.

Morwenna's arrival merely hastened the inevitable.

The phone rang several times, but Phineas didn't pick up.

Adelaide, her expression blank, sent a text message: "I have information on Morwenna."

The moment she sent the message, her phone rang.

She answered.

On the other end, Phineas's urgent voice asked, "Who are you? Do you really know where Morwenna is?"

Adelaide replied icily, "Of course I know because Morwenna is right here with me. I'm just about to hand her over to Mr. Hetfield."

Phineas was elated: "That's fantastic! Get her to me right away. No, tell me where you are, and I'll come personally."

"Mr. Hetfield, don't rush. We've gone through a lot of trouble to catch Morwenna. If you want her, shouldn't you compensate us for our efforts?"

Phineas paused, regaining his calm.

"How do I know you're not tricking me? I'm not sure Morwenna is really with you."

Adelaide walked barefoot into the

room, ignoring the leering glances of the thugs, and sent a video of Morwenna to Phineas. "See for yourself, Mr. Hetfield. If you sti doubt me, I can wake her you."

"How much do you want?" Phineas's voice was now deep and serious.

"Mr. Hetfield, let's not be so grim. I've thought it over, and three hundred million should do it. That's not much for you, is it? Once the money's transferred, I'll tell you where Morwenna is."

"That's extortion!"

"Really, Mr. Hetfield? Don't be so stingy. Morwenna holds a twenty percent stake in the company. Do you know how many billions that's worth Three hundred million is hardly extortion. Besides, if you can't secure Morwenna's shares, do you think you can withstand Stuart's revenge when he returns?"

Phineas fell silent.

Adelaide waited patiently for his decision.

After a long pause, Phineas gritted his teeth and said, "Fine, I'll give you three hundred million. But I want Morwenna alive."

"Deal!"

With the money transferred, Phineas received Morwenna's location.

However, by then, a reclusive internet user had already posted her whereabouts online.

Greta spotted the post immediately and, to prevent Morwenna's captors from relocating her, quickly took down the post and contacted the poster.

Meanwhile, Stuart and his team, each bearing their own injuries, emerged from the wilderness.

They, too, received word from Brian about Morwenna's situation.
