Human King -
Chapter 64: Count (4)
Vadu's village was the one at the foremost front within Dawn's forces.
After all, they were the ones who could be considered the most disobedient and bad goblins within Dawn's current village.
It wouldn't be bad to use them as shields against the enemy.
And since the top dog died when he battled Dawn, a new one emerged and led them.
That goblin is Garistoka.
He wasn't strong, and he wouldn't be able to serve as the pillar of this village, but he was only able to get his position because Dawn told him so.
Well, Dawn just passed the position to him because it was empty.
Anyway, That Garistoka was the first one to notice that the enemy was marching on them.
What's more, as if to ridicule them, at the same rate which their own army walks.
"These bastards! To think they would dare mock us like this!"
Garistoka was a quick-witted goblin. Ever since their village leadership changed to Dawn, he quickly jumped to his side to flatter him.
And, of course, that would mean he was ready to die for Dawn.
He was just a goblin who was faster to make decisions than any other goblin. He just accepted the fact that they lost.
Thinking about how he will serve the new village chief better, Garistoka was looking at the enemy with intense eyes.
If looks could kill, Garistoka would probably have destroyed everything in his path.
"Hmm? Something's walking towards us...3? No, 5, ah, 9!"
Garistoka muttered under his breath when he noticed that some goblins were walking towards him.
"Let's go! Accompany me!" Shouted Garistoka to his adjutants.
His adjutants were the five goblins that Dawn saw before when he was infiltrating their village.
"Yes!" Replied the five goblins.
They also saw what was happening and knew what was about to happen.
The talks about the war will happen.
"But, Garistoka, shouldn't we inform the...king about this?"
"Yeah. What if he gets angry with us? Thinking about that time makes me shudder..."
One of the goblins quivered slightly as he remembered the events that happened just earlier.
After all, Dawn massacring goblins and completely destroying Gago was a nightmare for them.
"Idiot. Why do you think the king made the formation this way? It's because he can't be bothered. If they want to talk, they just have to talk with us, his servants."
"Ohh. Now that you mention it, that would indeed be our job."
Garistoka nodded his head when he heard the goblin's reply.
And when he was about to turn his head back in front, he could now clearly see the enemy goblins.
All of them evolved at least once, and one of them emanates a pressure harder and colder than any of them.
But...
'He can't compare to the king.' Thought Garistoka as he remembered how Dawn made them kneel just with a glance.
How could a measly village chief be able to stand against the king?
Garistoka sure was confident that no one could.
"Why have you come here?!"
Garistoka shouted, hoping to get a reply from the strongest goblin. But, the one who replied wasn't him.
"Look at this goblin. Why is a weakling talking to us?"
"Where's your chief! Bring him out!"
"Should we just kill him?"
"That would certainly force the chief out."
"But, if he did that, then the chief won't be able to talk to their chief."
"AH! You're right."
They talked to Garistoka and then eventually to themselves.
'What the hell is their deal...' Garistoka thought.
"I wish to speak to your chief! I propose a fight!"
It was then.
"Ho! You propose a fight between us?!"
Shuuu! Boom!
Something landed between the two groups and made the ground tremble.
Dust rose, and the shattering of rocks could be heard.
Footsteps of a giant made the ground shake that even Garistoka and the other 9 goblins could feel with their bare feet.
Tug! Tug!
And as the figure rose from the dust, a pressure that was greater than any other embraced the goblins.
Gulp.
Their throat involuntarily gulped their saliva while their arms quaked.
Their eyes widened, and while it wasn't much, fear was visible on it.
"Is that true, chief of the fourth village!"
Whooo!
A hand wiped off the dust that gathered in the air in one go, and a shocking figure could be seen.
Even though Garistoka already knew who it was, he couldn't help but be shocked.
Dawn's appearance when he attacked his village was engrained deep on his consciousness, and now...it was overlapping.
The image of a death god!
And without him knowing it, his head was touching the ground.
"King!"
He shouted as he made himself prostate even lower than anyone.
But, of course, Dawn wasn't paying any attention to him.
"So, why did you bring those? Were you perhaps...thinking of fighting me with them?"
When Dawn turned his gaze towards the 8 goblins, they cowered in fear.
They took steps back while lowering their gazes.
'Monster...'
'The fuck is that...?!'
They had many thoughts, but they all feared the existence known as Dawn.
However, their village chief wasn't someone to cower in fear just because his opponent was a little bit stronger.
"That's right. I'm sure you were looking for thrills? How about it! If we, me and these 8 little bastards, win, I get your village! And if you win, you get ours."
The village chief spoke with a bit of leisure in his movements.
He knew that even though the 8 goblins feared the opponent right now, that doesn't matter since they'll be fighting together.
Their fear would only matter if they were fighting Dawn individually or one by one.
However, it wasn't. What the village chief proposed was a nine versus one duel!
Although it sounds ridiculous, the village chief was sure that Dawn would accept.
Otherwise, he wouldn't make his goblins spread out as if he was on parade.
Meaning, it was all a charade to smoke him, the enemy village chief out.
"Hahahaha! You are a crazy bastard!"
"How can I understand you otherwise?!"
It was then.
The village chief who was talking to Dawn disappeared all of a sudden.
He produced an afterimage from his speed, and even his 8 subordinate goblins couldn't follow his movements.
Boom!
When they heard the explosion, all of the spectators turned their heads.
They saw the village chief striking his right hand, and Dawn defended the strike by making a cross-shaped block with his arms.
"Hooo! Do you think you could keep up with me without your subordinates?!"
Dawn shouted as he pushed the village chief away.
"You bastards! Get in here!" The village chief also shouted, sensing that he was the only one moving.
The 8 goblins didn't reply, but instead, they answered with their actions.
They brandished their sword and prepared to encircle Dawn.
No matter how strong Dawn was, with their chief playing as their vanguard, the other 8 could focus on attacking.
"Now, don't you think you should be worrying a little?!!!"
The village chief intended to mock Dawn because Dawn just let them do their thing, but he became shocked when he saw a fist coming down to strike at him.
Swooosh!
A cut appeared in the village chief's cheeks even though he dodged it.
"Isn't it you who should be worrying?"
"Bastard!"
Shuuung!
A goblin appeared from Dawn's right side and used his sword to strike down at Dawn.
However, Dawn wasn't the one to sit still.
He ducked while catching the sword with his fingers before turning around to dodge the second sword coming from another goblin.
---Tsk! I missed the chance to break the sword!
Dawn thought as he retreated a few steps back. He took a glance at the right side for a second before running towards his left.
He then shrouded his left hand with his Aura before striking the nearest goblin to him.
Whooosh.
However, he wasn't able to connect. He only hit the air.
Shunggg! Whoosh!
And this time, the goblin he chose as his target was the First, the strongest out of all the 8 goblins.
He counterattacked with his sword, but what was dangerous was that it wasn't only him!
"It ends here!"
6 other blades were aiming at every part of Dawn's body.
Head, neck, arms, hand, knees, and legs. He wouldn't survive the battle if the current balance were to get out of hand because of an injury.
And what was bad was that...
"Great Force!"
The village chief shouted something while condensing his Aura in his right hand.
His knees were bent a little bit while his feet were planted deeply on the ground.
He was clearly waiting for Dawn to escape from the 7 swords coming to strike at him.
---This is bad...
And with the merciless sound of the air cutting through the air, Dawn could once again feel his life being threatened.
However, even with the dangerous situation...
"Kuhahahaha!"
Dawn laughed before the blade could pierce him.
