Human King
Chapter 97: Returning home (7)

After Karkas finished talking with Moris, he turned around and began walking towards the place where he would lead the goblins.

Although only a few minutes have passed, the advance unit of the goblins would have cleared much distance by now.

That was why it was now time for the goblins who were escorting the king to go.

After all, staying here would be more dangerous than marching on the forest where their allies have already cleared.

"King…" Karkas murmured as he saw the place where Dawn was still sleeping.

Dawn wasn't showing any signs of waking up at all despite them making a mess of things during the battle.

It was weird as Dawn's senses would be enough to wake him up if ever the slightest noises were made.

And that was why Karkas knew how bad Dawn's condition was right now.

Karkas worried about Dawn so much that he wanted to attend to Dawn's needs right now in every way possible.

He wanted to scour the forest for any possible medicines, and even kill the mightiest monsters just for Dawn's food.

He would even go outside the forest if ever there were someone who could heal Dawn.

That was how worried Karkas was right now for Dawn.

However, as if that weren't enough, the Elder also died.

If it weren't for Karkas's discipline, he would have broken down right now just because of the mental impact of the king being in that state, and the Elder being gone.

It wouldn't be weird to say that all the goblins have just been trying to prioritize the king's safety now to prevent themselves from losing to…emotions.

Right, they wanted the king to be safe as soon as possible, and for that to happen, they must concentrate on it.

They didn't have the time to mourn for the loss of one beautiful goblin.

"Hah."

Karkas shook his head as he noticed that his mind wandered again.

'This isn't the way, I must…'

Rage. Karkas thought as he closed his eyes slowly.

He then began imagining how Dawn was being driven to a corner by the Warmen.

As Karkas' brain was more advanced than any other goblin's, he could picture the scene more accurately.

The scene played out in his head every time and when he saw Dawn being pounded to death, he bit his lips.

Blood flowed out of his lips, and his palms were bleeding due to his fingers digging in roughly.

And when Karkas imagined that someone was about to pierce Dawn's stomach, he gasped.

"Hah!" Karkas opened his eyes immediately as he bent his body weirdly.

Huff. Puff.

"Those bastards…" Karkas murmured with his bloodshot eyes.

Veins could be seen bulging around his eye socket on his face, and he couldn't look any scarier than now.

However, Karkas soon regained his calm as he shook his head.

This was just his way to keep calm about things, and focus on the king!

He had to do his duties perfectly so this wouldn't ever happen again.

It was an insane way to keep his focus, but if you thought about it, one could only nod his head.

After all, Karkas was insane! There is probably no other goblin that is more insane than Karkas when it comes to the king.

"Huuuu." Karkas breathed in and out as he searched for the goblins who were staying.

Well, they were easy to see as they stood beside Dawn.

And those goblins were, Didi, Una, Hig, Dal, Ika, and Gragia.

It was clear just from their faces that they were down, but Karkas could see the determination in their eyes.

Karkas smiled a little bit as he knew that they were in the exact situation as him.

However, the fire known as the goblins couldn't be blown away by any storm.

They were monsters, and monsters live on by their instincts.

And it is no doubt that the goblin's instincts are the best among the rest.

It was then.

Karkas walked towards the group of monsters who were looking forward to returning to their village.

He spoke, but his voice wasn't that strong or powerful. It was completely the opposite of how he talked earlier.

And Karkas even had a bit of a peaceful look on his face as his eyes saw Dawn.

"Let's go home."

Let's go home. The other goblins heard this as the wind brought it to their ears.

And they didn't answer back with words, but instead with actions.

Didi and Una carried Dawn's bed as they took their position, and the other goblins also started taking their positions.

The normal goblins were surrounding Dawn's group, and when they finished everything, Karkas shouted out loud for everyone to hear.

"Go!"

It was the start of the march that would bring the goblins back home.

****

In a place where a black sun was shining over the place, there was a man sitting on a throne.

It wasn't easy to see the man and the throne as they were black too.

It was quite weird seeing as how the place was dark, and there were no lights in this place.

However, the man didn't mind it at all as his eyes opened a little bit.

He observed the place for a bit before opening his mouth wide.

"Ahhh." The man yawned as he stretched his arms.

No…did he even move? It was quite weird as he didn't move yet the cracking of his bones could be heard.

However, the man didn't care about that as he stretched his legs.

What happened with his legs was the same as what happened with how he stretched his arms. He didn't move, yet the noise of bones breaking could be heard.

It was creepy if you think about it.

It was then.

As the man finished stretching his body, he spoke as he opened his eyes.

"So he died…"

Right after saying that, something popped out in front of the man. As the place was dark, it wasn't visible.

After all, that something was dark too.

And when the man's eyes saw that something, he said as he looked down on it.

"Weak."
