The serpents hissed in agony as their health bars dropped rapidly. Their attacks grew sluggish until they fell to the ground, lifeless.

The man paused for a moment, glancing down the long corridor before him.

His deep and calm voice broke the silence.

"The Fruit of Sin... I must make sure it doesn't fall into the hands of anyone."

With that, he moved forward, letting the red glow of his Doomblade light the way.

The hundredth floor of the Ancient Swordking's Dungeon loomed ominously as August and the others stepped into its massive, cathedral-like chamber.

The walls shimmered faintly with the glow of embedded mana crystals, and the air was thick with an oppressive aura of ancient power.

Ahead of them stood a battalion of knights clad in glowing black armor. Their swords radiated an eerie white glow.

Aria stepped forward, gripping her staff tightly. "Be careful. Those aren't ordinary swords. That glow… it's sword intent."

Torin groaned. "Sword intent? You mean the stuff that slices through anything? Great. Just when I thought this couldn't get any worse."

The knights didn't wait for pleasantries. As soon as they detected the group's presence, the first wave charged forward with terrifying speed.

"Here they come!" Drask roared while swinging his axe with both hands as the first knight lunged toward him. The clash of metal echoed throughout the chamber as the knight's glowing sword cut clean through the haft of Drask's axe.

"What the—!" Drask stumbled back, narrowly avoiding a follow-up slash. "It cut through my axe like it was paper!"

Aria reacted swiftly, casting Blazing Conflagration to create a wall of fire between them and the advancing knights. "Fall back! We need to regroup and figure out how to deal with them!"

The fire slowed the knights but didn't stop them. One stepped through the flames with its armor glowing red-hot but unyielding. It slashed its blade downward toward August.

"Not today!" August yelled while activating Dash to sidestep the attack. He countered with Hidden Strike, driving his dagger into the knight's exposed neck.

The knight staggered but didn't fall. August's eyes widened. "They're tougher than the usual ones!"

Gareth stepped in, slamming his shield into the knight's chest to knock it back. "Focus on one at a time! Don't let them surround us!"

Another knight charged forward. Its blade glowed brighter as it swung toward Viora. She raised her shield of light in defense, only for the blade to slice clean through it.

"Are you kidding me?" Viora cried out before rolling to the side as the blade narrowly missed her.

August tried using Arcane Shield, but the knight's next slash tore through it with ease, sending him sprawling to the ground. His HP bar plummeted.

"Damn it!" August gritted his teeth.

His Basic Armor was doing little to mitigate the damage. Every hit felt like a truck slamming into him.

Aria shouted, "We have to focus on evasion! Don't rely on shields or armor—they're useless here!"

Torin climbed onto a broken pillar for a better vantage point before drawing his bow. "If defense is useless, we'll just have to attack harder!" He let loose a volley of arrows, aiming for the gaps in the knights' armor.

The arrows found their marks, and one knight crumpled to the ground.

"One down!" Torin shouted.

Drask, having retrieved a backup axe from his inventory, roared and charged another knight. "Let's see you cut through this!" He swung his axe in a wide arc, cleaving through the knight's shoulder.

August joined the fray, activating Phantom Slice to keep a knight occupied with his clone while dashing behind the knight and delivering a series of rapid strikes to its exposed back.

After an intense and grueling hour of combat, the group finally defeated the last of the knights. They collapsed to the ground, panting and nursing their wounds.

August inspected the loot he received. Among it was a piece of armor called Shadow Warden's Vest.
