Gu Ren had waited for the right timing to confess his feelings for Ye Zhi, and he had a hunch today was the day.

On the way home, Gu Ren was a little nervous. He wondered if Ye Zhi would like the gift.

In the face of such important and nerve-wracking moments, Gu Ren would rub his well-defined thumb along his knuckles lightly.

The black Rolls Royce rolled into the villa. Gu Ren glanced at the gift box and wondered what Ye Zhi was doing at the moment inside.

Gu Ren only realized that Ye Zhi was not home when entered the house.

Gu Ren frowned, adding a few degrees of chillness to his already cold features. He remembered that Ye Zhi did not have much on her itinerary today.

“Where is Madam?” Gu Ren glanced at the housekeeper.

The butler replied, “Madam has not come home. Her assistant has already come back to inform that she has something to do today and may come home later than planned.”

Gu Ren grunted in acknowledgement. The butler pressed on, “Young Master, do you want to have dinner already?”

“No.” Gu Ren shook his head. He walked to the sofa and put down the gift box. A thought struck him and he took off.

Gu Ren strode to the garden outside the villa, and his tall tall body cast a slender shadow on the ground. It was dusk, and the sky was not yet completely dark.

The plants around him had withered by the winter’s chill, and the air he breathed was frigid.

Gu Ren sat on the bench and looked at the door. The people in the studio would usually send Ye Zhi back. Who took her away this time?

Ye Zhi had long lost her relatives, and she did not have many friends. Where could she go?

Gu Ren felt uneasy, as a bad feeling kept egging him.

Ever since Gu Ren assumed that Ye Zhi had the intention to leave, his inner anxiety grew stronger.

This was why Gu Ren had to sit here and see Yi Zhe return home with his own eyes to feel at ease. The sun gradually dimmed, and there was still no movement at the gate.

Gu Ren sent a text message to Ye Zhi but did not receive a reply after waiting for a while. Gu Ren made a few calls, but Ye Zhi did not answer either.

Gu Ren had long forgotten the Cartier bracelet in the living room, and only Ye Zhi’s whereabouts occupied his consciousness.

The bench was cold, but Gu Ren paid no attention to it. He lowered his eyes slightly, and the darkness in his eyes grew deeper and deeper.

After a long while, the sky above him had turned pitch black, and snow began to fall. Flecks of snow were swept around by the wind and floated in front of Gu Ren.

Gu Ren caught sight of the snow. Is it snowing?

Night had fallen, the lights in the garden were not very bright, Gu Ren’s night blindness was kicking in again when the world before him became dark.

Gu Ren did not turn on the flashlight on his phone, but just kept sitting alone in the darkness.

After a while, a pair of car lights flashed through the darkness not far away and drew closer to him. The car stopped, and Ye Zhi got out of the car, unfolding an umbrella.

Ye Zhi walked up to Gu Ren, the umbrella shrouding his body. Ye Zhi bent down, and Gu Ren raised his head to meet her eyes.

Gu Ren’s eyes moved, and his cold features disappeared instantly.

Ye Zhi felt strange, “Why didn’t you go in?”

There was no snow under the umbrella, but the cold wind swept past them. Gu Ren looked at Ye Zhi’s face carefully, the corners of his mouth curled.
