Immortal of the Ages
Chapter 454: Murderous Fiend!

In the first level of the Primordial Pagoda, once filled with celestial puppets, now stood a grand hall enveloped in black and white radiant light.

Within the hall, numerous cultivators, enveloped in Immortal aura, gathered. Their gazes solemn, holding their breath and focusing their spirits, they silently waited.

In the deepest part, there was a snow-white lotus platform. Upon it sat a woman in meditation, her white hair cascading around her, glowing softly, competing in brilliance with her jade-like skin. She was Dean Yu.

"Sister!" At this moment, a lean man burst into the first level of the Primordial Pagoda. His expression was grave, and his shout, like thunder from a clear sky, startled many of the Immortal powerhouses present.

"What's going on Sacred Sage Feng?"

Many in white robes looked towards Feng Qingcong, their eyes filled with confusion.

Based on their understanding of this man, he was never one to raise a fuss. Such behavior indicated something significant must have happened.

"Something big has happened at the Mystic Zenith Temple!" Feng Qingcong made his way through the crowd, arriving before Dean Yu.

"What has happened?" Dean Yu slightly furrowed her brows and asked softly.

Hundreds of eyes also fell on this lean man.

Taking a deep breath, Feng Qingcong said with disbelief, "Yun Xiao went to the Mystic Zenith Temple and killed Jian Xing, Li Hongpao, all the Dharma Crowns, ten Manor Masters, and over 10,000 Black Battalion soldiers!"

Upon these words, the Primordial Pagoda was plunged into utter silence, with everyone looking at each other, speechless.

"Impossible, he's just a child."

"Did I hear that right? Over 10,000 Black Battalion cultivators?"

The people in white robes whispered among themselves, looking at Feng Qingcong with skepticism, replaceing it hard to accept this reality.

"Explain." Dean Yu opened her eyes and looked piercingly at Feng Qingcong.

After Feng Qingcong had already questioned the disciples of the Primordial Academy present, he recounted the entire incident.

"The key lies in the Sword Hearts! Those disciples said that Yun Xiao's Sword Soul could directly devour the power of the Sword Hearts, creating a lethal force that transcends ranks. He used over 100 Sword Hearts to annihilate those people and also prevented the disciples from practicing the Ascension Technique…" Feng Qingcong said, still astonished, his eyes filled with shock.

"Sword Hearts?"

Many exchanged glances. Though they had not witnessed it themselves, they believed Feng Qingcong would not joke at such a time.

"So, the incident at the Jade Immortal Tower was indeed his doing?"

This truth left them somewhat bemused. When the incident happened, all fingers pointed at Yun Xiao… Then it appeared everyone thought too highly of his abilities. And now, it turned out to be him after all?

"The most important are the ten Sword Rings, this is definitely no falsehood…"

Yun Dahe touched his bald head, his eyes wide with amazement. As a Sword Cultivator, he understood what the ten Sword Rings signified.

"The Human Zenith Sword Immortal is called the pinnacle with his eight Sword Rings reaching the heavens. So, what does that make Yun Xiao with his ten?" Yun Dahe slapped his thigh and burst into laughter, saying, "As the saying goes, one is influenced by the company one keeps. Lian Xi is truly a person of destiny, attracting a youth who seems ordinary at first but is in fact the most unparalleled sword genius since ancient times!"

"Ten Sword Rings!"

The powerhouses from the Academy Faction exchanged looks, their eyes shining with a divine light.

Not all of them belonged to the Primordial Academy; some were strong beings from across the myriad worlds, some were from ancient families of the Primordial Ruins… and now, they gathered around Lian Xi, protecting her, waiting for hope!

"What is his purpose in doing this?" They looked at each other, pondering this question.

"He wants to continue being the eye of the storm, drawing the attention of the Three Immortals to protect Lian Xi," Dean Yu suddenly said.

Everyone paused, then smiled.

"Youthful love, simple and straightforward, brave and pure, enviable indeed."

"This kid is really something, worthy of Lian Xi in every aspect."

"He took responsibility for the incidents at the Pathseeker Palace and the Jade Immortal Tower, even framing the True Devil, and now has the courage to face it alone. This fierce nature is exactly what most of us lack…"

For a moment, the youth's decisiveness left a deep impression on them.

"So, do we have an additional hope now?"

"It seems so."

"Sister, should we talk to him?" Feng Qingcong asked.

"No need, let him handle it on his own," Dean Yu said, pursing her lips.

"With such a big incident at the Mystic Zenith Temple, I'm afraid the Three Immortals might seek retaliation..." Feng Qingcong reminded.

"It doesn't matter. By convicting Lian Xi during the day, they've already torn apart centuries of tacit understanding, fundamentally changing everything," Dean Yu paused, "Yun Xiao daring to do this also means he's ready to take the responsibility upon himself."

"With this, the people of the Primordial Ruins hate him even more," Feng Qingcong sighed softly, then looked up and asked, "Do you think the minds of the people in the Ruins, those infected by the Gu, would change if they witnessed the ugliness of the Three Immortals with their own eyes?"

"I don't know." Dean Yu's gaze was distant, looking beyond the Primordial Pagoda. She knew that after the incident at the Mystic Zenith Temple, the reputation of the Primordial Academy would surely suffer another devastating blow.

This moment would surely be the lowest of the low! When could they rise again? Even if they burned everything to bring down the Three Immortals, could the beings of the Primordial Ruins ever return to how things were before? How much of their own will remained? She couldn't be certain.

"At least, the beings of the myriad worlds will be saved."

"They are the real common folk…"

As for those in the Primordial Ruins, they were the elite cultivators of the myriad worlds!

In a corner of the Primordial Academy, Yun Xiao sat cross-legged atop a high building.

The disciples of the academy were still afraid to move about due to the incident at the Mystic Zenith Temple, making the academy now sparsely populated, eerily quiet, almost deserted.

Yun Xiao held his Prison Warden Life Sigil, concentrating on drawing a small formation with a Rune Pen. Under the moon, a layer of silver moonlight draped over him. Everything seemed calm and tranquil.

However, outside the academy, as news of the Mystic Zenith Temple incident spread, the entire Primordial Ruins were already engulfed in a raging inferno. Endless fury was gathering, forming a volcanic magma momentum, pressing towards the academy!

The name of the murderous fiend trembled through the divine ark.

Yun Xiao's tranquility contrasted sharply with the outer world's frenzy, like a block of ice that never melted, surrounded by flames and molten lava.

The conflict between ice and fire was on the verge of erupting.

Just then, a weak call from a young girl sounded behind Yun Xiao.

"Immortal Yun…"

Yun Xiao continued to write, while saying, "Come closer."

"Yes." A pale-skinned girl with disheveled hair floated over like a ghost, landing on the eaves before him. Her hands clasped in front, she slightly bowed her head, her bare feet touching the eaves.

A gray mist enveloped her, within which surged resentful spirits forming faces of sea demons, emitting low, mournful shrieks.

"Such heavy resentment from the dead?" Yun Xiao stopped writing and looked up at Pale Revenant.

"The Oblivion Demon Sea is somewhat peculiar…" she whispered softly.

"Not now." Yun Xiao cut her off and gestured for her to come closer.

Pale Revenant approached, nervously saying, "I'm afraid the corpse energy on me might contaminate you."

As soon as her words fell, Yun Xiao placed the Prison Warden Life Sigil on her forehead.

HISS! Smoke rose from her body as all the malicious resentments burned off into white mist, ascending to reincarnation, leaving behind only pure energy in her body. Originally a corpse gathered from dense resentment and dead energy, the transformation by the Prison Warden Life Sigil made her akin to a living person, brimming with life.

After a while, the corpse mist dissipated, and she regained her clarity. Her skin gained some color, and she even had a heartbeat… In this state, even if she walked on the road, probably no one could immediately recognize that she was actually a deep-sea corpse demon.

"Feeling better?" Yun Xiao removed the Prison Warden Life Sigil from her forehead and pinched her cheek, asking.

"Much better, thank you." Pale Revenant felt grateful, about to kneel, but Yun Xiao gently supported her, smiling, "You were saying, the Oblivion Demon Sea is strange?"

"Yes!" Pale Revenant nodded vigorously, then said, "When I first arrived, I thought it was so beautiful. It was a sea of myriad colors, bizarre and dazzling, like a dream. All demons and beasts lived in harmony, thriving in prosperity, a joyous and perfect paradise… I quickly blended in and felt very happy until suddenly, I smelled a strong scent of corpse energy."
