Chapter 113: Ogre Okashira

~3rd Person Perspective~

Okashira the Ogre saw something.

—Two humans fighting.

—One of the two, a boy, was making godlike actions.

“Hey! Come on everyone!” (Okashira)

The ogre tells his followers to attack the humans all at once.

The one who jumped at them now was the second most powerful ogre in the village. Once he gets a hold of someone, he will not let go until their torso is separated.

“Did he do it!?” (Okashira)

Okashira exclaimed. However, the powerful ogre was dead before he had time to grapple with him, having been hit in the brain with an arrow.

A frighteningly quick move. Even Okashira, the ogre, could only see the afterimage of the boy holding up his bow and firing.

“Can’t someone do something about him!?” (Okashira)

Okashira asked, but none of his subordinates could answer. None of them could come up with a way to stop the boy.

Humans are by far inferior to ogres. They are very easy to hunt, and yet they have many excellent tools that the ogres cannot even think of.

They are easy to hunt, and they always have treasure. If they are found, you can’t help but hunt.

So, it was only natural that some of the ogres attacked the humans when they saw them from the village.

However, no one had expected that they would be attacked by humans to this extent.

This place was a perfect place to settle down. The reason was that small, cute birds would gather to rest their wings on the branches of a tree nearby.

The Ogre tribes’ purpose in life was to secretly admire these small birds.

“If we give them this place, we won’t be able to admire the little birds anymore!” (Okashira)

“““Yeah!””” (Ogres)

“You guys have to leave the little birds right!?” (Okashira)

“““We hate it!””” (Ogres)

“Then defend them to the death! If you’re an ogre, you’d better risk your lives, you bastards!” (Okashira)

“““YEAH!””” (Ogres)

“Kill the humans!” (Okashira)

“””Kill them! Kill them! Kill them!””” (Ogres)

There was a battle that could never be lost. To admire the little birds, they could never be allowed to retreat. However, the more they fight back, the more damage they receive.

Okashira came up with a desperate plan.

“—the little girl!” (Okashira)

Compared to the little boy, the little girl’s physical ability is inferior.

Moreover, she keeps on crying nonstop!

“That little girl must be truly frightened by our tribes’ prowess!” (Okashira)

If that’s the case, she can be easily overpowered if they all surround her.

“Take care of the girl first!” (Okashira)

“We can’t!” (Ogre)

“Why can’t you!?” (Okashira)

“Because we can’t!” (Ogre)

If you look, it is true that his subordinates are desperately attacking the little girl.

But the little girl was evading the attacks of the ogres—kicking in the air, gliding, and dodging in all directions.

“What, the hell, is that…” (Okashira)

It was a behavior he had never seen before. It is not possible for a human being to move like that. While Okashira was stunned, the little girl was flying through the air, and the little boy was cutting up his subordinates.

――They will be annihilated at this rate.

(Why did this happen…) (Okashira)

There are two reasons.

One was that he had messed with the humans out of curiosity.

The other is that they counter-attacked when they fought back.

If they had not touched the humans at that time. Or if they had run away instead of fighting back desperately. …Okashira’s face is distorted in shame. But it is too late to regret it now.

The only thing he can do now is to be prepared to risk his life.

“…I am going.” (Okashira)

“Okashira will go!? Then I must also go!” (Ogre)

“Hahaha! If the head comes out, the humans will be finished!” (Ogre)

“I’m going to watch over the little birds for the whole day after this battle is over!” (Ogre)

Everyone’s morale was suddenly lifted by the head’s entry into the battle.

“Gaaaa!” (Okashira)

With an enthusiastic shout, Okashira threw a huge log.

The log is approaching the boy at a speed comparable to that of volcanic rock.

Even an ogre can’t block this. However, it is not a speed that can easily be dodged.

“You’re done for!” (Okashira)

The next moment, he was sure of it.

Then the kid swung his sword with blinding speed.

-Woosh.

The huge log was sent flying back in the wrong direction!

The log plunged into the little birds’ nest—and explodes.

—Tweet-tweet-tweet-tweet.

The little birds, having escaped from the disaster, flew away from the spot all at once.

A perch, which had turned into a miserable sight, remained behind. No more little birds will visit this place…

“Grrrr… Boy, you made a terrible mistake!” (Okashira)

“Eh, it’s Okashira’s fault just now—“ (Ogre)

“Huh!?” (Okashira)

“No, no, nothing.” (Ogre)

His subordinate’s words were silenced with a terrifying glare.

It’s not Okashira’s fault. It was the boy’s fault for not taking the log and knocking it back!

Okashira’s whole body was filled with anger, and he approached the boy.

“Well done little boy and little girl” (Okashira)

“Hmm? I feel like he’s talking to me.” (Toru)

“To-to-Toru. Isn’t that an Ogre Elite!? It’s a monster close to A-rank!” (Esther)

“Really?” (Toru)

“Runaway now!” (Esther)

Okashira did not understand the human’s words, but he sensed an atmosphere of agitation.

(Kukuku. You’re frightened after seeing me…!) (Okashira)

Okashira’s lips curved as he put strength into his fist and said in a loud voice,

“Take a good look at my power! Regret that you destroyed the little birds’ home! And die—” (Okashira)

“Good one.” (Toru)

“Huh?” (Okashira)

He thought he saw the afterimage of the little boy.

The next moment, his vision shifted to the side.

“Little… birds… please… be safe…” (Okashira)

His vision moved closer to the ground, and Okashira’s consciousness disappeared into the dark abyss.
