I've Become the King of Villains in the Game -
Chapter 36 Big Brother, Don't Kill Me
The Dolphin Opera House was located near the inner ring of the Outer City District, a few blocks away from Denton Street.
If one took the main road, it would be a longer detour.
Connie, who was familiar with the area, knew a shortcut that only took about fifteen minutes to walk.
When Floey heard that the shortcut wouldn't take long, she suggested they walk.
The two of them, one in front of the other and holding hands, slowly made their way to a secluded alley. Passing through here and turning a corner, they could see the Dolphin Opera House.
The shops on this street were all old ones selling second-hand items and clocks, and most were closed at this time. The few that still had lights on showed no signs of life.
Connie, who had previously worked nights, was used to this and wasn't scared.
She even comforted Miss Floey beside her, telling her not to worry.
"Kent did a good job," she said.
But just then, Connie suddenly heard a deep male voice in front of her.
Looking up, she immediately felt chills run down her spine.
More than ten men had surrounded them.
"Grab them! And be quick about it!"
At the command of their leader, the rest of the men rushed forward with fierce smiles.
Connie's heart raced, and a wave of fear and dread overwhelmed her.
"Miss Floey, run!"
She grabbed Floey's hand, trying to turn and escape.
But before they had taken more than a few steps, those menacing men in leather jackets blocked their way, reaching out to grab them.
"Got you, Biqi!"
The man's hand firmly grasped Connie's arm—
Crack!
Kent had just shut the door when he suddenly heard an odd noise.
He carefully observed and realized something was stuck in the door.
Glancing up along the door gap.
What met his eyes was a pitch-black gun barrel.
"!!"
Kent's heart skipped a beat, feeling as though his soul was about to leap out of his body.
Looking up further, he saw the black-haired young man who should have already gone downstairs, staring emotionless at him.
"I'll ask you once more, did you really not see them?"
The flintlock gun was pressed against Kent's forehead, the cold touch making him shiver.
"No... I didn't," he stammered.
Cold sweat streamed down his face, but Kent dared not wipe it away.
A hint of disappointment crossed the black-haired young man's face.
"Since that's the case, you're of no use to me, time to die!"
His finger lay on the trigger, ready to pull.
Thump!
Kent suddenly dropped to his knees.
"Don't! Don't kill me!! I know everything, I know it all!!"
He collapsed in a moment, crying out in agony.
Kent was truly scared; he feared being shot by the other party at any second.
The man before him seemed like a lunatic, unpredictable and mercurial.
This fear was far more intense than any threat from the Iron Fist Gang.
Chen Lun pushed the door open and then slowly closed it behind him.
He held a gun in his hand, pointing it at Kent, and casually sat down on a chair.
"Tell me everything you know," he commanded.
The seashell necklace on Chen Lun's chest emitted a faint blue light. Kent's eyes went blank, and he began to speak involuntarily.
"It was the Iron Fist Gang leader, Gary, who told me..."
Ten minutes later.
Having heard Kent's story, Chen Lun understood the causes and circumstances, as well as the despicable tricks of the Iron Fist Gang.
From the moment he had met Kent in the stairwell, he had noticed something was off about him.
After a brief exchange, he sensed that everything about the man, from his heartbeat, breathing, facial expressions, sweat secretion, to even his blood flow, indicated that Kent was hiding something.
A regular person could not deceive Chen Lun, a Transcendent.
"What... What have you done to me!?"
As Kent came to his senses, not understanding what had happened, he was suddenly filled with terror and confusion.
He didn't have time to think much, and what seemed to lay before him now was a dead end.
"Please don't kill me! The Iron Fist Gang forced me!
They scammed all my money and then demanded it back; if I didn't pay, they threatened to kill me!
I had no choice but to work for them!
I'm sorry! I repent! Please spare me..."
Kent pleaded.
But seeing Chen Lun indifferent, he seemed to think of something else. He then began trembling as he got to his feet and started frantically searching the room.
Chen Lun raised an eyebrow but didn't stop him.
What did he want to do?
Chen Lun was curious.
Soon, Kent, with a look of joy, came up to Chen Lun holding an old book.
He handed it over like presenting a treasure.
"This is a treasured heirloom of our family; my grandfather gave it to me when I left. He said it was very valuable and definitely worth a lot of money!"
Chen Lun, however, didn't even give it a glance and simply scoffed.
"If it's so valuable and expensive, why didn't you sell it to pay off your debt? Or give it directly to the Iron Fist Gang?"
Kent's smile stiffened.
He felt the last sliver of hope in his heart shatter completely.
He was not lying; this book was indeed a treasured possession of his family.
His grandfather had repeatedly told him to look through it often, saying it would be of great help to him and might even lead their family to prosperity in the future.
But he had never seen anything special in it, considering it merely a sentimental old book.
Chen Lun casually took the book, glanced at it.
"Recorder Ken Bernie's Memoirs"
His eyes slightly narrowed; a possibility flashed through his mind.
Kent suddenly noticed that the flintlock gun he had pointed at himself had been put down by the dark-haired young man.
He couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
Whew!
The cool breeze blew through the quiet street.
Carrying a pungent scent of blood.
Connie stood frozen, unbelievingly staring at the scene before her.
The man who had been holding her arm just a moment ago now lay in a pool of blood, with a gaping hole in his chest, slowly oozing blood.
Turning her head, she saw Floey holding a flintlock gun, its barrel still smoking, which had appeared out of nowhere.
"Xie Te! That bitch has a firearm!"
"Don't be afraid, she has already shot Lenny dead; she's out of bullets!"
The other men, after their initial shock, had regained their composure.
After a brief exchange, they charged again.
Bang! Bang!!
Two more gunshots rang out.
The first two men who rushed forward fell under Floey's flintlock gun.
"What!?"
The members of the Iron Fist Gang stopped in their tracks.
They never expected that the two women they thought would be easy targets were so tough to handle.
Especially the beautiful blind girl, who had pulled out a flintlock gun capable of multiple shots.
It's unheard of! How could there be a flintlock gun that can fire multiple shots!?
"Everybody, put on your Mad Hands!"
At that moment, one of the men shouted.
In a flurry of delicate metallic friction sounds, the remaining gang members from the Iron Fist Gang put on iron gloves.
"Biqi, don't think you're the only one with a firearm…"
They then each pulled out a strangely shaped firearm, short in body and flared at the muzzle like a trumpet.
Then they aimed their firearms at the two women.
"Miss Floey, what… what should we do?"
With so many firearms pointed at them, Connie felt her heart jump to her throat.
Her mind was blank, not even wondering how Miss Floey could accurately shoot and kill three men, being blind.
Floey couldn't help but frown slightly.
She wasn't afraid of dying, but she worried about Connie suffering the same fate.
"Alright… don't hurt Connie, I'll go with you."
