Leveling Up With My Pet
Chapter 187 Finally Out!

The salvage ship sprang into action, gradually tightening dozens of steel cables and slowly lifting the submerged aircraft to the surface.

As the vessel worked diligently, the nearby light warships remained still, and their naval officers watched intently, one even using a telescope to observe every detail.

"Can you believe there's a C-17 transport plane down there?"

Remarked one naval officer.

"I hope that our country can develop a transport aircraft that's equivalent to the C-17 as soon as possible," another officer added.

Clearly, the military officers were filled with hope and an urgent need for advanced military transport aircraft.

Meanwhile, Sun Jian appeared calm on the surface, but he was the fairest of all, brimming with excitement, expectation, and other emotions.

Finally, after ten long minutes, the first part of the aircraft's body gradually emerged from the water. The crowd breathed a sigh of relief and cheers as they marvelled at the enormous size of the airframe, confirming that it was indeed a C-17 military transport aircraft.

"Haha, I see it, I've seen it!" exclaimed one person.

"Finally got out of the water smoothly, so excited!" exclaimed another.

"Really the airframe of a C-17 military transport aircraft. So big!" a third person added.

The joy and excitement on the previously quiet boat were palpable as the people celebrated the successful retrieval of the aircraft.

Sun Jian clenched his fists, unnoticed by anyone around him. His heart was in a state of high agitation as he gazed at the C-17 transport plane he had long dreamt of. Finally, it was right in front of him!

Having this aircraft was crucial for them to understand the transport aircraft technology used by the M country. It would also inspire their technical team to develop new ideas based on the technology used in the C-17.

As the salvage ship gradually hoisted the aircraft's wreckage, more of its body was exposed above the water's surface.

The colossal machine rose higher and higher until it was lifted more than ten meters above sea level, revealing itself in its entirety.

The sight was incredible, and everyone present was thrilled.

"This is the first time I'm seeing a C-17 transport plane up close!" exclaimed one person in awe.

"Look, the body is still relatively intact," another person said.

Sun Jian remained fixed on the aircraft. His excitement was clearly visible on his once-calm face, which was now flushed.

He held onto Liu Yong's hand tightly with gratitude and exclaimed,

"Mr Liu, thank you, thank you so much. This is beyond my dreams! To think that one day we would have a C-17 transport plane, even if it's just a wreck and still well preserved. It's of great value."

Liu Yong, being humble, replied, "We were just lucky to have discovered the wreckage of the C-17 aircraft on the seabed."

As a large transport ship approached, the section of the aircraft's body was hoisted onto it and was soon escorted away by a light warship and a gunboat.

The salvage operation went smoothly, and both sections of the machine's body were transported away for disassembly and further study.

Sun Jian was the happiest and most excited of them all. He repeatedly squeezed Liu Yong's hand, expressing his gratitude over and over again.

Liu Yong's excitement grew as he examined both fuselage sections' avionics systems, instruments, and engines. Seeing that they were all primarily intact, his anticipation reached new heights. With the mission now completed, he felt a sense of relief wash over him, knowing that he had done his part.

He was confident that he would soon be rewarded for his efforts and didn't need to worry about it any longer.

Bawang had travelled farther this time, swimming more than 2,000 nautical miles and passing Guam. As a foodie, he was no longer satisfied with seafood in the East China Sea.

In the distance, he saw a big fish weighing hundreds of catties. This kind of big fish had never been seen before, and Bawang knew it was a big tropical fish and couldn't let it go quickly.

"There's a big fish over there, I have to catch it," Bawang said.

He swam quickly towards the big fish, passing it in one sprint, and bit it in one bite.

"Mmm, it's delicious," Bawang said after eating the fish, full of satisfaction.

"What's in the depths of the sea?" Bawang wondered and decided to swim deeper.

The light was acceptable at a depth of 100 meters, but as he went down, it became dimmer until it was completely dark at 400 to 500 meters.

Bawang's keen perception was excellent, everything within a radius of 500 meters was clear, and any marine life swimming couldn't escape his perception.

" I want to go down," Bawang said as he continued to swim downwards.

After reaching about 2,000 meters, Bawang reached the bottom of the sea. This was a large seabed plain, flat, and of course, dark and silent, with only some sporadic light spots: some marine fish that could emit light by themselves.

Suddenly, Bawang felt a big thing approaching quickly.

"What's that?" Bawang said.

"That's a giant octopus. King Squid!" he exclaimed.

The giant octopus was the overlord of the deep sea at the top of the food chain. It found Bawang, and it probably regarded him as food. After coming over quickly, it waved its tens of meters long arms and legs to entangle him.

Bawang's eyes lit up.

"Delicious!" he exclaimed.

Last time, the giant squid was delicious, and Bawang remembered it fresh. He wanted to eat it again, but meeting a sizeable giant squid had been difficult. He was lucky and met one a few days ago, but unfortunately, it was not big enough. He only ate one and a half.

"The big king squid regards me as food, and I regard it as a delicacy. If the other party comes to my door, I must accept it. Let it know how powerful I am," Bawang said, holding the giant spear and sprinting over.

The unlucky king squid was stabbed in half before he could react.

"Puff!" Bawang exclaimed.

"One shot kill!" he said, satisfied with himself.

Bawang pulled out his giant spear and immediately devoured the king squid with big mouthfuls. Twenty minutes later, the whole giant squid went into his stomach.

"That was delicious," he said.

After consuming his meal, the Overlord continued his exploration of the ocean floor, armed with a massive spear.

As he traversed the area, he couldn't help but remark on the depth of the water, exclaiming, "Hey, it's so deep over there!"

However, his attention was soon drawn to the landscape beneath him.

Bawang noticed that the previously flat seabed began to slope gradually in the first few miles. The incline became steeper and steeper as it advanced further.

After pressing forward for several hundred meters, the slope became almost entirely vertical, revealing a massive trench before him.

Despite Bawang's extraordinary 500-meter sensing ability, he could not determine the trench's width and depth.

"It's bottomless," he said with a hint of awe. "And the width is definitely more than 500 meters."

At this point, the Overlord was faced with a difficult decision.

Should he proceed and investigate the trench's depths, or should he retreat and avoid the danger altogether? His intuition warned him that the channel was incredibly hazardous, and he couldn't afford to take any unnecessary risks.

A massive creature emerged from the trench depths, several times larger than the Overlord himself.

"My God, such a big thing," Bawang gasped in disbelief.

In the face of such an enormous foe, the Overlord realised he was outmatched and decided to employ his wit instead of his might. He knew he had to escape before the creature could attack, so he quickly decided to flee undetected.
