Chapter 459
Chapter 459
I was taken aback when I saw my new weapon. "It's a bit underwhelming, don't you think? I gave you a whole sword, and I get a dagger in return… Did that blacksmith scam you or something?". She replied, "You think I would be scammed? Moreover, you think this is just any normal weapon?". The design of that dagger was really intricate, with a long slender but rugged main blade, which slightly curving like a letter "S". The top of the handle had three smaller protruding blades, those three claw like blade would point towards my hand. I wasn't sure whether that was an aesthetic or a feature.
The bottom of the main blade, had a small rugged hole. Or rather, the hole looked like someone bit off a chunk of the main blade. The handle was fully metallic, with similar claw like protrusions at the bottom of it. The whole dagger was silver with a pale blue hints here and there. It looked stunning to be sure, even I could see that the dagger was made by master blacksmith. Yet, it was a dagger. 'I gave her a sword, I didn't expect a dagger in return. Where is all the leftover material?, I asked myself.
She hinted that the weapon was not normal, but any Formation wouldn't explain the missing materials. She saw my expression of doubt, and handed me the dagger. "You think I would let him steal the materials? Don't be a fool! Take it and have a look yourself". I grabbed the dagger, and immediately noticed its weight. 'That's weird. Why does it weigh that much? If I remember correctly, this weight is similar to the Moon Blade. Did he compress the sword into a dagger or something?', I asked myself again.
Besides the weight, I also noticed the balance. It was perfect, at least that was good. I took a more detailed look, and noticed something else. The area where the handle and the main blade met, it looked like a creature opening its mouth, spewing out the blade. What's more, there was a small hole inside the handle. It was near the area where the main blade and handle met. I had no idea what that hole was supposed to be used for, but I knew it wasn't for strings. The handle itself had lines carved into it. Some of them resembled scales. Looking at the whole dagger, it really looked like some sort of creature spewing out a blade.
It wasn't even that sharp, when I tested it. I turned towards Alicia and asked, "Are you sure this is my weapon? I mean, it looks good and all, but surely this is not the best weapon a master blacksmith can create. From Lunite nevertheless". She replied, "You never saw a good weapon, did you. If you knew what this weapon is capable of, you would never say anything close to that". I was getting annoyed, "Look, this weapon is not even that sharp. It's one dagger, from a whole sword I gave to you. Perhaps it has good Formations, but what about the pure quality of this dagger?".
She was still smiling like an idiot. "You have no idea how stupid you sound right now. After you activate this weapon, you will beg for forgiveness". She then pointed at a small hole on the handle. "See this? Pour your blood into it". I was even more confused, but then I recalled that Moon Blade required my blood in order to reveal its true potential.
I cut my finger, and poured a drop of blood. Alicia looked at me, "A drop? Put your heart into it". I squeezed out a few more drops, but nothing happened anyway. She grabbed my hand while saying, "Give me your dagger… Not this one, the other one". I gave her one of my Flash Blurite daggers. She grabbed it, and slashed my hand open. "What are you doing?", I asked even more annoyed. "Shut up will you, just watch", she replied seemingly annoyed.
The blood gushed onto my new dagger, but not a drop fell down from it. The dagger absorbed all the blood at an alarming rate. "What the…?", I asked out loud while the dagger absorbed more and more. I felt as if the dagger was sucking away my blood, even though I wasn't holding it with my cut hand. That changed, when Alicia placed my bleeding hand onto the dagger. The suction was really beyond anything I expected. "Oi! I don't want to bleed to death!", I said while trying to remove my hand. I couldn't though. No matter how much strength I used, my hand wouldn't move away.
"Just a bit more! This should be nothing for you!", she exclaimed. A short while later, the suction finally ceased. I quickly removed my hand from the dagger, and looked at Alicia. I was pissed to be sure. "Stop moaning, and have a look at your weapon again", she said. I looked down to see nothing has changed. "Are you trying to piss me off? Because you are doing well in that department".
She pointed at the area where the hole should be. "Look, I thought your sight was really good", she said. I looked again, and noticed a small scarlet bead. The hole was no longer a hole, there was a bead inside. I was still clueless, and my patience was running dry. "You asked for a weapon that can be used by your bloodline only. That's what this weapon is. It's not a normal weapon by any means. This is a masterpiece when it comes to smithing and Formations. This dagger you see, this is its basic form. Try it out".
I wasn't sure what she meant by basic form, but I decided to try it out. I swung the dagger a few time, before Alicia shouted "STOP!". I quickly realised why she asked me to stop. The dagger released silver air blades, that looked like a crescent moon. Fortunately, no one stood in the trajectory of those blades, otherwise they would be slashed in half or worse. The silver blades slammed into a wall, leaving deep scars on it. 'This dagger is that powerful?', I asked myself.
I didn't use my full strength to swing the dagger, but the display alone left me shocked. The new Moon Blade was something else entirely. "Watch out where you swing that thing, this is not a toy!", Alicia exclaimed. I looked at the dagger in my hand, "This wasn't a Formation. It wasn't even any skill. It was pure sharpness of that thing". She nodded, "Of course, it was made from Lunite after all. Moreover, its real abilities are available to you only. If you have kids, they can use this weapon too. After all, they would have your blood coursing through their veins".
"That is not all, right? You mentioned basic form. In that case, what is not a basic form of this dagger". She smiled, "This dagger is not just one dagger, but ten packed as one. Although, this might be a bit misleading. The other nine daggers are not separate weapons. The dagger you hold in your hand is the main dagger, while the other nine are supportive to this main one. In other words, you can release them, to attack multiple opponents. Try separating this dagger, you should be able to achieve this".
I nodded, and willed for the dagger to separate. A quiet "hum" escape the dagger, then more noises followed. "Click", "Voom", "Swoosh!". The other nine daggers appeared around the main dagger, but they looked differently. Those daggers were blades without handles, and they were a bit smaller compared to the main blade of the dagger. 'Where the hell did those daggers, or blades come from?', I thought. I even checked the thickness of the main dagger, but it looked the same to me.
"What, you wonder how that's possible? Well, it's because of Formations. This dagger acts similarly to a storage item. There is no weight reduction or anything, it only holds those nine other blades and allows for specific connection between them. That connection is thanks to Elements. At first we wanted to make you have nine additional daggers, and control them together with this one. Since I arrived here, I delved into Elements, and I was able to figure this out. You know the best part? This weapon can be controlled by your Auras. I told you this is a masterpiece".
I threw the daggers upwards, and used my Domineering Aura to control them. "This is not bad at all. The daggers are certainly useful this way", I said after trying out a few moves. This time though, I minded the strength and the speed of each swing. A small demonstration later, I retrieved the daggers and asked, "Do I simply will them to return to the basic form?". Alicia nodded, and that was what I did. The smaller daggers raised up from my hand, and rejoined the main dagger.
"It's a good weapon, sorry I doubted you. The sharpness of this new Moon Blade is really great, I will surely have a use for this", I said. Alicia smiled, "That is why I said, you'd be sorry for spout such words. Yet, you are still wrong. That alone wouldn't be so special, nor deserve to be called a masterpiece. There is more, but I will let you try and figure it out". 'There is more? In that case, what else can this dagger do? Kill my opponents by itself or something?' I asked myself, and tried a few things out.
