Luna's Deadly Deception: How She Made Her Alpha Pay -
Chapter 110
He didn't look like he was going to give up. "Yes. You will continue."
"I refuse to continue that conversation." I folded my arms as I regarded him. "I don't know anything about Ghost Pack so there's no point."
My gaze turned to one of the maids who was cleaning up the table. "You. Come see me off."
I was about to head for the door but Quentin blocked me before I could do anything. I sent him a weak glare before trying to move past him.
He held on to my wrist, stopping me from moving. "And where do you think you're going?"
I was already racking my brain for a way out of this when someone's head popped out. Hart. He made a face as he looked at Quentin.
"Look at this guy."
My gaze turned to Hart who had an unamused look on his face. There was a bit of wariness in me as I watched him.
Quentin let go of my wrist immediately and turned to regard Hart. "I thought I told you to wait."
"I got bored." Hart shrugged.
It was Quentin's turn to glare. "Are you a child? Is it so hard for you to listen to simple instructions?"
"Oh it really isn't. I just don't listen to you." Hart had a cocky grin on his face as he regarded Quentin.
"That can be changed." Quentin's voice had gotten lower, more menacing and certainly colder than it had been when we were talking.
They continued to banter with each other for some seconds more before Quentin turned to look at me.
"I was with your brothers until Hart came by." He said, sending a quick glare at Hart who didn't seem the slightest bit bothered.
I looked at both of them for a while, wondering what I'd possibly even do with them. A small sigh left my lips and I allowed them into the villa.
Hart who was ever so energetic, couldn't keep his hands away from everything. He admired and examined the whole place with the enthusiasm of a child.
"Your place is amazing. The aesthetics... astounding." He said, unable to hide the excitement in his eyes.
"Could you stop embarrassing me?" Quentin glared at him once again.
Hart's head whipped to him, the teenager sending him a glare of his own. "Well excuse me if all I'm used to is that boring box you call an office."
Quentin's eye twitched. "I swear on the Moon God-"
"Alright, alright." I put my hands between both of them. "That's enough. You will not be fighting in my house."
"Well he started it." Hart huffed, puffing out his cheeks in anger.
Quentin put his hands in his pocket, a disinterested look in his eyes. "Whatever. The reason I brought him here is because he wouldn't stop bugging me. Said he wanted to know more about you and all that."
It was subtle but I could spot the small hints of coercion in that statement. He was on to something. I wouldn't give him that answer he was hoping to get.
"Oh that's lovely." I smiled innocently.
"Really?" Hart smiled. "I thought you'd be annoyed that we came unannounced."
"That's fine honestly. At least someone has manners." I sent Quentin a withering look before turning back to Quentin.
"Says the one who didn't even bring refreshments. Some host you are." Quentin scoffed.
If that was his attempt at being funny, it sure as hell wasn't working. I rolled my eyes before turning back to Hart who was staring at me with a smile.
"Seriously, why do you even listen to this guy?" I pointed at Quentin. "Believe me, it's not consensual." Hart winced.
My eyes flicked to Quentin before turning back to Hart. "The pay must be really good then."
"Well," Hart paused. "He promised to help me block out pressure from the pack elders. They'll let me go and I'll be free to replace a mate of my choosing when I become an adult."
I hummed, taking in his explanation. "What pack are you from?"
There was a small pause before he finally answered. "Blood Moon."
My eyes widened. Blood Moon Pack was one of the highest of ancient nobility. They embodied the very word 'aristocracy'. Their pack housed some of the highest families.
"Interesting. And what are you looking for in a mate?" I asked.
He thought on it for a while. "I definitely don't want some traditional werewolf."
I tried not to wince. "So someone tech-savvy like you?"
"Bingo." He grinned.
The first person that popped in my head was Jane. She had the same principles as Hart does and would probably salivate more at the thought of binary than a hot male model.
"Good luck replaceing someone to put up with your bullshit." Quentin scoffed.
"You're the one who needs the prayers, old man." Hart retorted.
Quentin's eyes snapped to him. "What did you say?"
"Boys." I yelled, glaring at both of them.
They both turned away from each other, Hart wearing a sheepish look on his face.
I shook my head before slowly leaning towards Hart.
"I have the perfect candidate." I whispered.
