Manaless Mage -
Chapter 100 [Bonus ] First Beast Kill
He brought out the pair of silver daggers from his storage device and then sighed as he took his first step into the forest.
Immediately, tall, thick trees with thick barks came into his view.
The forest and the 'hub' were like two different worlds.
However, Harry had to admit that the forest was quite beautiful. The environment was serene with an odd silence hanging around the place; one that he quite enjoyed.
The bright rays of light pierced through the small gaps between the trees, creating a beautiful scene that was also quite comical.
Though the environment was darker due to the obstruction from the trees, it wasn't too dark that one couldn't see.
It looked like it was the evening. Besides, the beautiful sunshine rays served to brighten the place a little.
Harry shook his head slightly, brining his focus back to the surroundings.
The scene might be beautiful but it didn't lessen the danger of the forest—it didn't change the fact that mana beasts more than capable of ending his life roamed around.
Harry's eyes sharpened as he focus his perception to the max.
He had already placed the daggers back in the pouch that hung on his waist.
However, even after walking for sometime, he still wasn't able to replace a mana beast.
Suddenly, his steps paused.
His eyes squinted slightly as he felt an ominous feeling wash over him.
He didn't know why but his senses tingled slightly, making him feel like someone… or something was stalking him.
Just then, a low snap sound rang out from behind him.
Harry's instinctively turned to the direction of the sound.
A short rabbit-like creature of about three feet came into his sight, it stood a few meters away from him with its eyes burning with bloodlust.
Its eyes were small and round with a pitch black colour. Each fur on its body stood tall like a needle and one didn't need to be a genius to realise that they were sharp.
A short blue horn stood firmly on the top of its small head, it was spiral and its edge was very thin.
The beast opened its small mouth, revealing a set of razor sharp teeth and let out a low growl.
For a moment, Harry steps froze as he stared at the rabbit-like beast.
The mana beast didn't wait for him as it suddenly jumped forward with an astonishing speed, its small mouth open and its sharp teeth ready to dig into fresh meat.
Fortunately, it didn't take long before he regained his composure.
'Accelerate!' The moment Harry saw the speed of the beast, he immediately activated one of his most reliable speed-boost skills.
[+40 Stat points temporarily allocated to Agility]
With this, his agility underwent a massive boost.
The speed at which the 'rabbit' closed in on him became a lot slower.
Using his boosted agility and strength, Harry leapt backwards by a few meters, before landing on his feet.
Due to his action, more distance was created between them.
[-10 Energy points]
A familiar notification flashed across his eyes, but he ignored it as it was nothing more than a distraction at this moment.
Thinking about what happened earlier, Harry couldn't help but hiss lowly in disappointment. The disappointment he felt wasn't towards the mana beast though, but himself.
Back then, when his eyes met with that of the mana beast, an unpleasant memory popped up in his mind. His first encounter with a mana beast replayed in his mind, making him freeze.
Screech!!
The 'rabbit' opened its mouth and let out a loud and annoying sound, annoyed that its prey managed to escape his attack.
Now that Harry got a clear image of the mana beast, he finally recognised it.
He had learned about this creature in the academy; it was called a "Horned Rabbit", from its appearance, it was easy to guess what brought about that name—the small horn on its head.
It was one of the rather common types of mana beasts.
The horned rabbit immediately rushed forward at a surprising speed that one would never expect from such small legs.
Even Harry was slightly taken aback by its speed which was a lot faster than before.
However, with [Accelerate] still active, the speed of the 'rabbit' seemed rather slow.
He would love to scan the mana beast using [Probe], unfortunately, with how the creature wasn't giving him any breaks, he couldn't replace anytime to activate the skill.
He didn't plan on waiting for the mana beast to close in on him though, stretching his hand, Harry launched his first attack.
"Lightning Ball!" He shouted as the Lightning ball above his palm flew towards the mana beast.
The medium sized ball made purely of bright blue lightning rushed towards his enemy with great speed, leaving a trail of lightning.
The mana beast paused its steps immediately when he saw the rapidly increasing and fast moving lightning ball, its instincts tingled with fear and it knew it had to escape that attack.
Unfortunately for it, escaping the incoming attack was easier said, than done.
The Lightning ball closed in on it with great speed, it hit the 'rabbit' right in the middle of its face, sending it flying backwards by a few metres.
Just then, the shocking effect of the element ran through its body, making it spasm violently on the ground.
A slight smile appeared on Harry's face as he watched the creature's futile struggle. He felt a weird sense of accomplishment when that attack connected.
Even then, he didn't let his guard down.
Using these few seconds that the beast was handicapped, he quickly scanned it with [Probe].

Harry couldn't help but suck in a cold breath when he saw the mana beast's high agility stat.
There was neither [intelligence] nor [Mental] stat among the stats which surprised him a little, he could only guess that it was due to the fact that the beast hadn't unlocked it and only relied on instincts.
From its stats, it was obvious that it was one that excelled in speed and agility.
Its endurance and stamina were very low and just that one attack had already drained it of almost all its H/P.
Its low endurance was also why the beast was unable to resist the shocking effect of the Lightning element, usually, it only lasted for a few seconds but even till now, the beast showed no sign of recovering.
A smug smile appeared on Harry's face as he pulled his hand backwards.
Huge amounts of wind rushed down from his elbow down to his hand, rapidly converging and merging into a long blade that floated just above his palm.
He didn't plan on toying with the beast and wanted to simply end it quickly.
"Wind Blade." He muttered as he swung his right hand downwards with force.
The blade made purely of wind immediately flew towards the weak mana beast with great speed, its size rapidly increasing.
It passed through the 'rabbit's neck, completely cutting it into two and ending the beast's life.
