Chapter 22: Hello, Love (3)

I turned to see him. “Are you fine? Let’s go to the infirmary.” I really wanted to ask about what Senior Dino meant, but I thought it was not wise to ask about it now. Moreover, Senior Rizal’s face really looked pale.

“Hahaha. I’m okay, don’t worry.” He laughed softly and asked me to go inside.

“What time is your class?” I asked, still insisting that he needed to take a rest.

“Hm, at ten. Why?” He stared at me confusedly.

“And, what time did you go to sleep last night?”

“At three, if I’m not mistaken.”

“You still have time. Come on.” I dragged him into the infirmary. “Take a rest. I have class in 30 minutes. But, I’ll wake you up before 10.” I pulled the blanket on the bed in front of me.

.....

Senior Rizal laughed loudly. “You are really interesting. I’ve told you that I’m fine, haven’t I? But, you’re still insisted.”

“Just shut up, don’t laugh, and get some sleep.” I said hastily as I moved out a bit and glared at him.

He sighed loudly and took out his shoes. “Okay, I get it. But, as an exchange...” He lied down and looked at me. “Don’t go. Stay with me for a while.”

I smiled and sat on the chair next to the bed. “Okay...”

...

To say that I was happy now was an underestimation. I was now beyond happy. It seemed like my relationship with Senior Rizal would grow rapidly. I had a feeling that we would move fast. How fast it would be, I didn’t know. It was our second day of dating. Anything could happen, right?

Now, I was sitting next to Senior Rizal on grass in the left park of my campus. People usually didn’t come here because it was near the abandoned-tombs and they got scared because of it. To say the truth, I liked this place. This place was beautiful and so green and fresh. I felt like I could sleep here every day, camped here, and enjoyed my time here. It was so quiet, but comfortably quiet, not terrifying quiet like what people said.

“Ah, this is the first time I can feel as fresh as now. My presentation was great! Thanks to you.” Senior Rizal smiled happily. It was the first time I saw him this happy.

“Why me?” I asked while smiling.

“You suggested me to sleep, that’s why.” He said.

“Aah, is that so? Well, that’s good, then. Now, it’s time to have lunch.” I took out the lunch box Mrs. Rosa gave me and opened it up.

“Woah, it looks delicious.” Senior Rizal stared at the lunch box with sparkles in his eyes.

I took a piece of it and fed it to Senior Rizal. He didn’t seem to mind the way I treated him like a kid. He ate the cake, and then he frowned.

“Is it good?” I asked out of curiosity.

“Mmm, yes, it’s really good. But, I think I know this cake. The name is banana cream. It’s Senior Tom’s favorite cake. He used to bring this cake at campus.” Senior Rizal answered with a sad face.

I kept silent. Was that so? I fed myself with a piece of the cake. Sweet. It tasted like a weird feeling slipped in my heart. What was this?

“May he found peace there.” Senior Rizal looked at the sky, staring at it, but his eyes were empty.

I held myself not to chuckle. How come he could replace his peace if he was still in my room? If Senior Rizal found out about it, what would he say? Ugh, just thinking about it made me shivered. I didn’t have any guts to tell him the truth that Tom was still in my room.

“Yeah, I hope so.” I said. Senior Rizal looked at me and smiled gently. I fed him again before I melted with his smile.

“Come on, let’s finish it off.” I said after fed myself again.

Less than 15 minutes later, the lunch box became empty. I took a bottle of water out from my bag and took a sip of it. “Do you want to drink some?” I offered to him. He smiled and took the bottle from me. He, then, took a sip. At that time, I realized something.

Wa-wasn’t it an indirect kiss?! Hyaahh... To think about it again, we ate from the same spoon and drank from the same bottle. What else would it be other than an indirect kiss? I hoped I was not blushing madly now.

“Thank you for the meal.” He said while smiling.

“Don’t mention it...” I said, trying to act normal.

Senior Rizal took a glance of his watch on his wrist. “There is still time until the next class.” He said slowly, almost like a whisper.

I took a peek on my own watch. It was true. There were still 10 minutes before the next class began. So, what about it?
