265 Hope For A Normal Life

(Jane’s PoV)

I stared at the thing buried under the bed. Since it was covered with a soft glow, I couldn’t see the shape of the thing, but one thing for sure, it wasn’t big. It was just as big as my fist but the energy it was emitted was quiet strong for its size. The question was... what should we do with this thing?

Siji said that this thing was sleeping and only awoke when it felt my energy. So, did it mean it had a fate with me?

“I think we should take it out.” Sanji peered deeper under the bed.

“Will it be okay if we take it out of this house?” I looked at Siji who had returned to his usual indifferent self.

“At most, this house will be a regular haunted house if it is left empty for too long. But, it should be alright since the guardian of the land is still here.” Siji answered calmly.

Then, it would be okay. Normal house would have one or two ghosts living with the humans, and more than two if it was empty. With that thought in mind, I felt the energy around the object carefully. There was no resistance from it and an image appeared in my mind.

It was a long silk shawl. It was in light blue color. It was so light that it looked almost transparent. The image was so vivid that it looked real in my mind. It floated lightly and when I extended my hand, it fell right on it.

My fingertips felt the softness of the fabric and my hand closed in, afraid the shawl would slip away from my hand. The smoothness against my palm made me open my eyes in surprise only to replace the shawl was indeed in my hand.

.....

“Did it just...” float into my hand?

“Yes.” Sanji and Tom nodded their heads, knowing very well what I was about to ask. They had a pretty ridiculous dumbfounded expression on their faces. But, they snapped out of it pretty quickly.

“It should not be a surprise anymore but I am still surprised.” Sanji said with sparkling eyes.

“How did you do it?” Tom asked with curiosity plastered all over his face.

“I don’t know.” I shrugged. “It just happened.”

“I am seriously questioning my intelligence now.” Siji sighed and I chuckled hearing his comment. I knew what he meant by that and realized the foolishness in our questions.

I inspected the shawl in my head, taking every texture and energy of it into consideration. The energy it emitted really blended with mine easily. How could it happen? I had no idea. Most of the sacred items had their own aura and energy. It was about acceptance, but it was never about blending. Since I didn’t have the answer yet, I chose to toss it to the back of my mind as well as the shawl towards Siji who caught it in surprise.

“Keep it for me.” I told him before turning my heel away and walking out of the room. There were many things happened at the same time that I needed to use every possible chance to process it all. Thinking about the shawl was the last thing in my check list.

Going back to the living room, I sat down and waited for the others to catch up. As soon as we all sat down together, I started questioning Tom whom, I supposed, was holding the biggest information.

It took us almost two hours to finish talking about everything. The invitation from the ten rulers, our next plan, and ... Tom’s result after his final meditation. Honestly, it wasn’t a surprise for me since I had met the devil in charge of lust before. Of course, it would affect our strength, but as a normal human, it was really normal for us to feel sexually attracted to our partner.

Would I be okay? I asked myself that question inwardly. The answer was obvious, of course. Why would I be not okay? I was sure I could hold myself. With how busy I was, I really had no time to indulge myself in any sexual desire for now.

But, it was a refreshing scene seeing both Tom and Sanji’s expression. They tried hard to control their expression, tried to accept that fact but their contorted expression betrayed their mind. They knew that they must accept it, but it was clear that they felt repulsive with that thought. No matter what they had in mind that made them have secondary thought about their own growth of strength, I had no intention to know about it.

Hh, men. I shook my head.

“Deal with it. For now, improving myself is the only thing I have in mind. I’ll deal with you two after all this craziness is over.” I smiled at the two of them before I got up and left them to deal with the mess inside their heads.

“Siji, is there anything anything bigger after this meeting? Do I have to be ready for grand meeting or a grand battle?” I asked Siji after I returned to my room.

“There shouldn’t be anything after this one. It will be peaceful in the upcoming days, unless those from the Devil realm break through the perimeter and bring harm to human, then you are very much free after this.” Siji searched through his book from who knew where, as if he had every record for every event happened before.

Considering the time he had gone through being the Supervisor of White Army, I was sure that he had his own resources and calculation about anything.

Then, if it was true as he said, I could finally continue my study? I didn’t have to go here and there again, right? I also didn’t need to cross over the other worlds in every moment, right? I could live normally!

Maybe I should really suppress my own ability to the point I couldn’t see ‘them’ during my daily life to fully enjoy my normal life.

“Then, should I start applying for the new semester? It isn’t too late for me to register now. I can take a week off during the grand meeting and return to campus after that.” I was seriously looking forward to my university life.

Siji was contemplating for a while. When he finally nodded his head, I couldn’t hold back the shout of joy escaping my mouth. Finally, I could see a hope for a normal life! I thought I was going to deal with these creatures all of my life!
