My Villainous Destiny: Doomsday Descends
Chapter 45 - Envy, Jealousy, and Hatred

Chapter 45: Envy, Jealousy, and Hatred

Xu Chao’s shadow quickly moved towards the Qin family’s convoy. The Qin family’s troops, trained and elite, immediately raised the alarm.

“Enemy attack!!!”

The soldiers on the forward-guard tanks opened fire instantly, countless machine guns weaving a net of bullets in response, showcasing their rapid reaction time.

However, Xu Chao’s shadow was even more elusive. Regular bullets, even if they passed through his shadow, caused no damage at all.

In fact, firearms can pose a threat to some evolved individuals, especially those with strength-enhancement abilities. But Xu Chao’s shadow, existing somewhere between tangible and intangible, was a spiritual talent.

Hence, these bullets couldn’t harm him.

Xu Chao’s shadow charged directly towards the extended limousine carrying Qin Jun, menacingly spreading out like a shadow over a building’s height, creating an intimidating scene.

Finally, the Qin family’s evolved members took action. With a flash, a middle-aged man in a black uniform snorted coldly, blue flames flickering in his eyes.

A dazzling blue flame beam burst from his body, soaring into the sky and colliding with Xu Chao’s shadow.

The intensity of the blue flame beam was terrifying, distorting the surrounding air. Xu Chao didn’t dare to take it head-on and had to shift his position to avoid the frightening blue flames.

Xu Chao felt a bit grim. He knew the Qin family of Dongdu was powerful, but he hadn’t expected to be unable to get past the first hurdle.

More evolved individuals appeared, all clad in black uniforms, staring coldly at Xu Chao.

Xu Chao had observed large refuges through his shadow ghost in the past few days and noted the varied personalities of their evolved individuals—some arrogant, some flamboyant, some composed—with all sorts of attire.

Although attire doesn’t directly impact combat effectiveness, seeing so many evolved individuals uniformly dressed in black military uniforms like an organized army was incredibly oppressive.

The Qin family of Dongdu even had structured units of evolved individuals…

Xu Chao hadn’t forgotten his goal. He deliberately altered his voice, saying, “This is Blood Bear’s territory. Outsiders are not welcome! This is just a warning!”

The limousine’s window slowly rolled down, revealing an incredibly handsome face. Qin Jun looked at Xu Chao’s shadow with a calm expression, and beside him,

Xie Han stared coldly at the shadow, eyes filled with murderous intent.

Xu Chao and Qin Jun locked gazes from afar, and Xu Chao realized this young man must be the heir of the Qin family of Dongdu, the SSS-level talent holder, Qin Jun.

Envy surged within Xu Chao. Qin Jun, son of the Premier of the old era, was already an aristocrat. When the apocalypse came, he remained a ruler of the new world. In fact, the apocalypse had elevated the Qin family’s status even higher!

Why? Why should Qin Jun enjoy privileges in the old era and remain above everyone in the new era? How could he be so lucky to have everything?

Xu Chao’s gaze shifted to Xie Han beside Qin Jun. Zhou Lan was already a beautiful goddess, but Xie Han, this female bodyguard of Qin Jun, made Zhou Lan pale in comparison with her beauty and aura.

Jealousy gnawed at Xu Chao. He had initially planned to sow discord between Blood Bear and Qin Jun and then flee, but now he changed his mind.

Xu Chao’s shadow laughed hoarsely. “Qin, don’t think you’re something special just because you have an SSS-level talent. In a year, I’ll rule the southeast!”

“So what if you were born into privilege? Just because you were lucky to be born into a good family? Even if I was born lowly, you and your kind will be defeated by me, trampled underfoot!”

Xu Chao deliberately distorted his voice, venting his envy and jealousy, growing more passionate as he spoke.

“Looking for death!”

The Qin family’s evolved individuals were enraged. They could see that this shadow, despite being a troublesome spiritual entity, had weak combat power—a worthless being.

How dare a nobody spew such nonsense?

They had pledged loyalty to the Qin family, tying their interests to the Qin family’s fortunes. Glory and defeat were shared. Seeing an insignificant shadow disrespecting Qin Jun, their young master, filled them with fury.

“You’re dead!” Xie Han’s eyes burned with murderous intent.

Suddenly, the void behind Xu Chao rippled, and a graceful figure appeared, thrusting a dagger towards Xu Chao’s chest!

It was Wang Zhi, who had recently joined the Qin family. However, Wang Zhi’s dagger seemed to pierce through thin air; Xu Chao’s shadow was a spiritual entity, impervious to physical attacks.

Xu Chao’s eyes widened when he saw Wang Zhi. The black uniform perfectly highlighted her graceful figure, but it also scared Xu Chao. He hadn’t sensed Wang Zhi’s presence at all. Her shadow camouflage talent made her a born assassin!

Failing her first strike, Wang Zhi retreated, glaring coldly at Xu Chao’s shadow with frustration. She had hoped to kill him and impress Qin Jun, but the shadow’s spiritual nature foiled her.

Qin Jun narrowed his eyes, observing Xu Chao’s shadow. Xu Chao was about to speak again when he felt the surrounding void collapse, crushing towards the center. The next moment, his shadow was destroyed by an unseen force!

Witnessing this, the Qin family’s evolved individuals looked at Qin Jun with reverence—not just for his status but for his strength.

A hint of a smile appeared on Qin Jun’s face as he heard the system prompt.

“Ding—Detected a Child of Destiny, Xu Chao.”

“Mission: Eliminate the threat of Xu Chao. Reward: 35 Villain Points.”

“Ding, evaluating the potential value of Child of Fortune Xu Chao… Evaluation complete. Potential Harvest Value: S-level!”
