Hugo looked at the woman in front of him, she hadn’t changed much, but she had lost a little of the fat that before adorned her cheeks and made her look adorable and young, the woman now in front of him looked more mature, her attitude was still the same as years ago and Hugo felt a little nostalgic, but remembering everything, he decided not to think about the past.

Alejandro was waiting for him at the entrance with the car already on, the girl tried to open the door and get in, but it was locked, Alejandro rolled down the window and gave her a wad of bills and she nodded, she understood that she would have no chance with that man and watched the car drive away, she had witnessed the whole scene and at first sight understood that those two loved each other, but did not understand why they were so foolish, as that was not her problem and she had been paid for doing nothing she left happy.

The next morning when Hugo returned to work Alejandro approached him with a folder, it was a business plan, a partnership between the Moretti Group and the Sapphire Company.

Sara planned to approach him little by little and Alejandro was more than delighted to bring the marriage together. Hugo took the folder and without even looking it over when he saw the name of the company he threw it on the table

“Not admitted” He said simply and moved on to the next document.

“Sir, you can’t refuse such a good offer just for personal reasons.” Alejandro reproached him.

“It is not for personal reasons, Sapphire Company has no experience to work with us, they have been in the industry for a short time and are not stable in the market therefore they are not at our level”.

“Sir, the company may have been in the industry for a short time, but it is more important than many, many others we do business with, besides the offer is very good, you should review it and give it a chance, not simply reject it because it is Mrs. Sara’s company.”

“Madam” scoffed Hugo: “Now it’s your madam, since you defend her so much, she should be the one paying your salary shouldn’t she?”.

“That’s not what I meant.”

Alejandro didn’t dare mention the collaboration again, so he simply walked away. He knew his boss was very stubborn, so there was nothing he could do. He sent a fax to Sara’s company saying that they did not accept the contract, that he hoped they could partner another time.

Nadia received the refusal and immediately told Sara, but she didn’t seem surprised, on the contrary she smiled. Sara knew perfectly well that her husband would refuse to work with her and that he would consider her inferior to his status, he was very predictable, so she had already arranged a meeting.

When it was time for lunch Hugo went out to meet Matias, they had arranged to meet that day, but to his surprise when he arrived at the restaurant his friend was nowhere to be found, contrary to what he expected, there was Sara, wearing an impeccable white business suit.
