Chapter 89:.

Sara found herself anxiously pacing the office back and forth as they waited for Alejandro’s response.

Nadia had never seen her boss so anxious, they had created a company from scratch, facing millions of adversities to succeed and Sara had always kept her calm, sword straight and chin high, but during the last few hours since returning from lunch she had become a hurricane of nerves and was moving from one side of the office to the other without stopping.

Nadia was sure that if she kept it up she might just open a hole.

Finally the phone rang and Nadia hurried to check it under the gaze of her boss and as she read the message she felt like disappearing. Sara couldn’t stand another second of waiting so she questioned Nadia.

“What happened, did he make it?”

“I’m sorry ma’am says Alejandro that the paper is no longer with the company.”

“Then already…”

Sara slumped limply into the seat in front of the table.

“This the end of my marriage, it all ends here.”

She covered her hands with her face and Nadia didn’t want to see her goddess crumble like that, she couldn’t bear to see her in that state, so she threw hard against the table some documents she had and raising her voice a little she assured her.

“Nothing is finished here. I assure you Ma’am.”

He turned his back on her and without further explanation left the office.

Nadia wasn’t quite sure what she could do to help her boss, the only thing that was clear to her was that she was going to fight and do everything she could to help her, after all she owed it to her.

She took out her phone and sent a message to Alejandro telling him to expect him in fifteen minutes at the registry office.

When they met Alejandro surprised her by greeting her with a kiss on the face, Nadia’s mind went blank for a few seconds and the oxygen didn’t reach her brain, it had all stayed in her lungs and she forgot even why they were there, it took her a few seconds to come out of shock and then she explained the plan to Alejandro.

“We are going in as a couple who are thinking about getting married and we want to inform ourselves about it, we will ask questions about everything and inform ourselves where the damn paper might be, when we have it located I ask permission to go to the bathroom and tried to replace the paper.All clear?”

“How will I know when you have the paper?”

“I’ll come back to your side and then we leave.”

“What if something goes wrong?”

“Nothing will go wrong.”

Nadia told him taking him by the hand and pulling him into the three story white building.

The first thing Nadia could see was that there were many people, lots and lots of people, some were sitting, some were coming and going, but room was completely crowded with couples and that was a good thing, so no one would notice them and they could proceed with their plan, which changed as soon as they arrived because there was no one who could attend them.

So Nadia paid attention to her surroundings, the whole floor was full of tables in the center of the room while there were benches against the walls where the rest sat to wait their turn, Nadia checked that this was where the couples were getting married, she could see the love filled eyes of the couples, she kept watching and saw a couple arguing, they took an exit to the right and disappeared.
