Chapter 448: Pet Delivery

It was a quiet early morning. The sound of breathing echoed from the bedroom of the pet store on the second floor. Some were slow and long, some were deep and soft, and some were funny.

Zhang Zian woke up according his biological clock. He stretched his body and didn’t get up, but changed positions and laid on his side. But he couldn’t go back to sleep.

He didn’t have to get up early to prepare stewed beef for the police dogs that day, so he could stay in bed for a while, but he still had to get up not too late considering it was a weekend. There would be more customers, including those who traveled from far away. The filming process was not over, and he did not have a day off, the reason why he was in the store today was because the crew needed to be reorganized after what had happened the day before. The people in charge, including the director Feng Xuan, had been asked by the police to temporarily suspend shooting.

Zhang Zian took his phone out from under his pillow and took a look at the crew’s WeChat group. The rumors were everywhere since last night, and someone even said that Guan Biao was sent to the National Security Agency for being involved in terrorist affairs. Seeing these ridiculous guesses and rumors, all Zhang Zian could do was laugh

Yesterday, after Sheng Ke came with his men, they arrested Guan Biao for “deliberately damaging public property” while “endangering public safety” as he had tried to release sulfur dioxide to damage public property, which was considered poisonous. It was a really big deal. The crew wouldn’t have days off if not for this.

Guan Biao was taken away soundlessly, his face as white as ash. He didn’t rebel as he probably realized that they already knew his plan. He was a smart guy after all. In reduce his sentence, he confessed everything, and even told on Yuan Fei, saying he had been threatened and instigated by Yuan Fei. Yuan Fei had been caught later…

The leaders of the crew, including the director Feng Xuan and the producer Nie Yuan who helped the police fill out the police report. Another reason why the crew had some times off was because the pyrotechnician had been arrested, and a new one was needed to continue shooting. When shooting resumed in two days, the work would be that much more in order to make up for the time they had lost.

Although Nie Yuan tried his best to work on dispelling the rumor, the media sensed something was up. The paparazzi was at door of the Studio. Once the crew members appeared, they would offer a great amount of money for current gossip, and that was why there had been some biased pieces of news on Weibo and Wechat Official Accounts Feed recently. However, Zhang Zian, the man who was really involved, had not interviewed, and it was a shame.

To be fair, Guan Biao shouldn’t have failed. His plan was almost perfect. Zhang Zian revealed Guan Biao’s plot because of the weird dream Famous had had. Later, Zhang Zian and Famous realized that the reason why Famous knew what would happen was not because it had the ability to predict danger, but because it had suspected Guan Biao from the very first beginning. Plus, it smelled sulfur in its dream. Famous therefore had some unconscious feeling that something was wrong.

The reason he came to this conclusion was because Famous’s dream didn’t reflect reality. That is to say, for example, even though Guan Biao had put extra sulfur in the smoke cake, it couldn’t make Famous and the other two police dogs died, and this was also not what Guan Biao wanted.

But anyway, the crew would become more stable now, and could continue working on the film. Red Dragon and Prince were sent to their owners for several days’ reunion, and would be sent back when the shooting started up again.

As he couldn’t sleep anyway, Zhang Zian got up. Richard was under a small blanket, snoring with its mouth open. It sometimes kicked its legs, and sometimes made noises. Since Zhang Zian had found it a blanket, it seldom grabbed the quilt anymore. This guy knew nothing about etiquette, and did all the “don’t”s. If it had teeth, it would definitely grind them while it sleep. Every time it happened, Zhang Zian slapped it without a second thought.

Galaxy shook its ears. After it heard the sound of Zhang Zian getting dressed, it got up from its cot, blinking its eyes curiously at him.

Zhang Zian waved to Galaxy, smiling, and then blindfolded his eyes. These days, he went to work so early that he didn’t have time to play hide and seek with it, but today they could have fun.

Galaxy shook its tail happily, jumped off of the cot, ran to the bedroom door, used its front paws to open the door, and went downstairs to warm up with the American Shorthair cat and Wendy.

Zhang Zian didn’t have the energy to complain about it. Galaxy was a master of hide-and-seek. It could win easily, even without warming up. But as a shameless grown-up, he had some tricks up his sleeve—peaking during the countdown.

Behind the sheer curtain, Fina opened one of its glittering green eyes. It looked at him with interest, and soon closed its eyes. After a while, it opened its eyes again, this time it was two eyes, looking at him confused. It seemed like it was asking, why are you still here?

Zhang Zian sat next to the bed, raised his shoulders and hands, stuck his tongue out, and widened his eyes, meaning that he wouldn’t have to work that day, and could stay in the store. He wasn’t sure if Fina could understand his facial expression or not.

Fina stared at him for a long time, finally seeming to understand his expression. It turned around and turned its back to him.

Old Time tea was still asleep, with a little smile on its face.

Zhang Zian wore his slippers and went to bathroom. Snowy Lionet heard the sound, and suddenly got up from the blanket. Once he came out from the bathroom, it followed him and crept to the kitchen.

He was about to drink a glass of water when Snowy Lionet grabbed his pajama pants. “Meow! Mama want the raw beef sirloin!”

Zhang Zian had to free one of his hands to hold up his pants and get rid of Snowy Lionet, otherwise his pants would be pulled down.

“I had so much stuff to do yesterday, and forgot to buy you beef sirloin. But it won’t hurt you to not eat it for just one day, right?”

“I don’t care! Mama wants it every single day! Otherwise I will take off your pants and castrate you!” Snowy Lionet pulled on his pajamas with more strength, and showed her paws with a threatening look.

“Come on! If you castrate me, who will buy you sirloin?” Zhang Zian sincerely thought he had bad luck meeting this hooligan cat! Why was there never a female human hooligan who wanted to take his pants off?

Snowy Lionet thought about it and found it reasonable. It loosened its paws. “Anyways, you have to buy me raw beef sirloin by noon. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being rude to you!”

“How dare you threaten me?” Zhang Zian finally made his pants safe, and said resignedly, “Do you know what ‘neet’ is?”

“Neet?” Snowy Lionet blinked repeatedly, confused.

“‘Neet’ refers to those who stay at home and do nothing, neither studying nor working. In other words, it means a loser, understand? I will call you neet cat from now on.” Zhang Zian gave it a new nickname without its permission.

“Pfffft!” Snowy Lionet squinted, and its mouth twitched. “I am not jobless! My job is to serve Her Majesty! Besides, neet cat doesn’t sound good. Call me neet meow!”

Damn it! It was not a compliment! This lazy cat has been given a nickname, and she doesn’t think it’s a shame, but feels honored? Doesn’t she know anything about the Eight Honors and Eight Shames? Zhang Zian said to himself silently, and went downstairs. He was cleaning the store while watching Gina and Snowy Lionet go downstairs one by one, and jump on their own cat trees.

“Eh? Why did you come down so early today? Usually you come here only when you smell roast meat, don’t you?” he asked as he swept.

Fina glared him with an annoying look. “I go downstairs whenever I want, and it’s none of your business!”

“Alright, you are the boss.” Zhang Zian kept sweeping the floor and left the topic there. After he done the sweeping, he practiced boxing with Old Time Tea to warm up. He went upstairs and downstairs, played hide and seek with Galaxy for a while, then opened the automatic rolling door of the shop, and poured himself a cup of hot tea. When he was just about to lie down in the lounge, his phone suddenly rang.

It was still early, before 8 o’clock. He hadn’t expected anyone to call. An unknown number showed on the phone screen. Zhang Zian picked it up and said, “Hello?”

“Hi, is this Zhang Zian from Amazing Fate Pet Shop?” A women asked in a polite manner. She sounded professional.

“Yeah, that’s right. Who is this?” Zhang Zian asked back.

The woman replied, “This is Feichong Delivery Company’s VIP service line. Feichong Delivery Company is a globalized pet delivery company. One of your pets will be with you today in Binhai City. Please have someone stay at home and wait for the package. I’ll have to confirm your home address with you, are you available at the moment?”

“One of my pets?” Zhang Zian was confused at first, then he remembered. “Is it an Ashera cat?” A few days ago, Tim called him and told him that he had reserved an Anshera cat, and that it would arrive shortly in China. Zhang Zian was worried at the time as he had never seen this kind of cat before, and knew nothing about them. He should’ve gotten it by himself, but he was busy with work and couldn’t get a day off, so he had planned to ask Lu Yiyun to get it for him. To his surprise, he had been dismissed from the crew for one day, and now the cat was on its way to him and would arrive today. Now everything was settled.

It seemed that the person checked the details. Her voice broke, then she said, “Hmm…yeah, it’s an Ashera cat. The sender bought expensive delivery insurance, so our VIP line will be with you and provide you with the tracking number. I’ll have to check your address, please.”

“Alright,” Zhang Zian told her the address of the pet store.

After checking, the person said, “Okay, the address you provided is the same as what’s written on the delivery sheet. Your cats will be delivered to you as soon as they get to Binhai. Please feel free to call us if you have any questions. There will be VIP customer service for you.”

As Ashera cat are very expensive, the top brand pet delivery firm was hired to prevent any trouble during the overseas delivery as the seller was worried. Of course, the delivery fee was covered with the price, and was charged to the buyer. Tim told Zhang Zian before, and Zhang Zian asked Lin Qi for his opionion. Li Qi’s answer was simply to transfer money to Zhang Zian. Tuhao could be headstrong and do whatever they wanted.
