Pokemon: Master of tactics
Chapter 256 - Pokemon Master Of Tactics: 256 (Bonus )

Crobat woke up after a few minutes as the effect of [Super Potion] that Alex had given him kicked in.

Alex looked up at Crobat and said with a comforting voice, "I think you understand it very well that you were really unlucky to match up against Gardevoir in the first round, who is like your perfect counter. And Crobat... you fought very well."

Crobat, who heard Alex's words of encouragement, gave a look of disdain and said, "I don't need your worthless pity."

Alex slightly smiles as he said, "You know I am telling the truth."

Crobat said nothing but felt a bit better despite losing in the first round.

He knew that Alex was right. Against Gardevoir, his greatest strength, his speed, is almost useless.

Alex and Crobat don't say many nice words to each other. But when one is down, they always cheer each other up.

This relationship has many similarities with two very good friends who often make fun of each other. But when someone is in the need of help, they are always there, ready to help.

As if Scizor couldn't hold it any longer, he went to where Crobat & Alex were and said with a smirk, taunting Crobat, "Wow! I always knew you were weak but not so weak that you will lose in the first round. You managed to give me a good surprise, hahaha!"

Alex looked at Scizor and mumbled, "Someone can't read the mood."

Crobat immediately got angry and retaliated, "SHUT UP NUMBER 2!!! You're lucky you got a free loose, or you would lose to me in two seconds."

Alex looked at the two and wondered whether they will ever become good friends.

Fortunately, the two only do this in a safe situation (like this) and protect each other when it is dangerous.

In the mountain chain, both often fought together against strong opponents, and Alex often saw how both protected each other. Of course, they didn't forget to give stupid insults while doing so.

Alex felt that actions are really worth more than words.

...

Ditto and Blaziken were next up, and Alex felt that Ditto had a good chance.

One of Blaziken's best moves is [Attract], and Ditto can totally negate that move.

As long as Ditto transforms into a Pokémon who is super-effective against Blaziken, Alex would even say that Ditto is the slight favourite with a good tactic.

Blaziken has the strongest move in this tournament with the [Overheat] that is on the Master-rank, but that is also not without any weakness.

As long as Ditto uses [Protect] against [Overheat], he would be able to block most of the attack.

[Protect] is not strong enough to completely ward off a Master-rank [Overheat] + Expert-rank [Sunny Day], but it can at least absorb most of the damage.

"3,2,1, GO!!!"

Ditto transformed into Gardevoir in less than 1 second and immediately used [Teleport] to move to the edge of the arena.

Blaziken also started preparing a move, and after seeing who Ditto had transformed into, she dashed towards Ditto.

Ditto also started preparing a move a little later.

Alex saw how Ditto turned himself to Gardevoir and couldn't help but nod.

He felt that Ditto had made the best choice.

Apart from the obvious type advantages, all the best moves (Expert and Master-rank) from Blaziken are special moves—like [Will-O-Wisp]—which are not that effective against Gardevoir.

Gardevoir has a worse HP value in this world than in the games but has the ability to teleport in a short time which, according to Alex, is a good trade-off.

In addition, her Sp. Def. is very good, so she is not a complete glass cannon against Blaziken.

Blaziken finished first, and everyone noticed that the atmosphere had suddenly gotten hot, and the sun seemed to shine brighter.

After using [Sunny Day], she immediately started preparing a new move while rushing towards Ditto.

Ditto still needed a good bit of time before he also finished his first move.

It used [Future Sight].

Since all moves are on the Normal-rank, it was worth using a move like [Future Sight] that is stronger than [Psychic] in this situation.

Blaziken saw how suddenly a serene, gigantic eye appeared over her head, and she showed a slight confusion.

She didn't know much about the moves rarely used by others and never knew that Sister Gardevoir can use such a move, so she didn't know what that move was for.

Fortunately, she felt her legs lightened up a bit, and she started running towards Ditto a bit faster than before.

The increase in speed was small but still noticeable for all Pokémon and Alex.

She also finished her move [Flamethrower] almost immediately. But as soon as she came into attack range, Ditto teleported away.

Blaziken was slightly furious but still had a confident expression.

She knew that it wouldn't take her long to become as fast as Crobat or even faster, so this [Teleport] tactic wouldn't work for long.

Apart from the fact that her attacks are much stronger than Crobat's, she is a slightly better "matchup" against Gardevoir.

She kept a calm composure and started preparing a move again.

Blaziken started running again but a little faster this time. While running, she also began to prepare for another move.

Her move was finished first, but she was still 50 meters away from Ditto and wanted to use her move from 30 meters to hit Ditto safely & surely.

When Blaziken was only 35 meters away, Ditto finally got ready to use [Psychic].

Blaziken was hit directly by [Psychic] and her face contorted in pain as she endured the hit.

Almost after that, the eye began to light up and exploded over Blaziken.

Blaziken was surprised and even lost her balance for a moment.

She was confused by the two almost simultaneous hits.

She also noticed that these attacks were really powerful and that more than 40% of her HP was gone.

She suddenly thought that if those two moves were on the Expert-rank, she would have been lucky to have around 35% HP.

Ditto took advantage of the fact that Blaziken lost her balance and teleported away again.

Then it immediately started preparing the next move.

Blaziken immediately felt angry at herself and at everything else.

She quickly dashed towards Ditto while holding the finished move ready to use any moment.

Ditto wasn't finished quickly enough this time, and Blaziken came within range.

Although Ditto was finished by the end, it was too late, and Blaziken sent a beam of fire in its direction.

Fortunately, Ditto had prepared the move [Light Screen] and thus greatly reduced the power.

Although the [Light Screen] didn't prevent much damage on the Normal-rank, it was still a good amount.

Ditto only lost a little more than 15% HP from this hit.

Ditto didn't wait and used [Teleport] again.

Blaziken began to calm down a bit and also started to think about a tactic.

In contrast to many other Pokémon, she had the least experience of fighting on her own. Even Bastiodon has more experience.

She didn't know what to do exactly and couldn't think of anything within less than 1 second.

Alex, who saw this, suppressed his wish to scream at her, "Ditto can only prepare Normal-rank moves and therefore can't move. You don't have to run so close every time to hit it," and just silently watched everything.

It would be really unfair to Ditto if he helped Blaziken here.

Blaziken started running towards Blaziken again.

Fortunately, she was almost as quick as Crobat now, decreasing the distance quickly.

And because Ditto can only prepare Normal-rank moves, it needs more time than "Gardevoir" and can no longer kite Blaziken.

Blaziken's move was even faster this time than Ditto, and Ditto only finished its move shortly afterwards.

Ditto was hit by [Flamethrower] again. And since [Sunny Day] is on the Expert-rank, it was still active and continued to reinforce the power of Blaziken's Fire-type moves.

At the same time, a transparent eye appeared over Blaziken.

Ditto, this time did not use [Teleport] and readied his next move immediately as it looked at Blaziken.

Blaziken was surprised but immediately started to prepare a move.

While preparing, she didn't move, but Ditto didn't think about it because Blaziken is now only 5 meters away from him anyway.

She felt that Ditto had made a big mistake this time.

Surprisingly, Blaziken and Ditto both finished and at the same time

Ditto use [Psychic] and met Blaziken's attack directly. Blaziken just endured the pain and used [Shadow Claw].

Although [Shadow Claw] does lesser damage than Expert-rank [Flamethrower] under [Sunny Day], despite the opponent being Psychic-type, it was different in this case.

Gardevoir's Def. is much worse than her Sp. Def. And [Light Screen] doesn't work against physical moves.

Ditto felt a lot of pain and immediately lost more then 35% of its HP, leaving it with less than half of its HP.

But Ditto continued to show a composed demeanour and was ready to move forward without teleporting away.

Blaziken was satisfied with the damage and immediately prepared another [Shadow Claw].

Alex, who saw this, knew that the fight was over.

And after just a few seconds, Alex's thought was confirmed.

Ditto and Blaziken both meet at the same time. The eye above Blaziken's head exploded immediately afterwards, and Blaziken became unconscious without even using [Protect].

Alex just looked with a stupefied expression, "-She... really forgot..."

if the story have total of 1100 powerstones in 24 hours I will upload 1 bonus chapter tomorrow.

[AN]: Have fun with the long chapter X2. Lol.

[EN]: Damn. I was wrong. This is why I don't gamble, whether it is a game or real life, lol. I was betting on Blaziken's Master-rank Overheat. But she never used it :(. I guess she is still a child. I wonder who will win this tournament. For now, I think Scizor has the highest chances.

[AN]: that wasn't the reason why she didn't use it. Using overheat at the beginning of the fight while all your other atk moves on the expert are special moves, is stupid. Especially if you are not sure that it will hit the Pokemon or that it will defeat the Pokemon immediately, you can immediately lose the fight at the beginning. overheat is best as a finish move or at least so the ditto only has 20 or 30% Hp left after it hits.
