Pokemon: Master of tactics -
Chapter 270 - Pokemon Master Of Tactics: 270
Alex and Erika had a very friendly small talk for a few minutes.
Erika's friendliness was very uncomfortable for Alex even if he is not sure why that was the case.
Alex says with a fake smile "Erika, have you already thought about the format in which you want to fight?"
"Ohh yes but ... I'm sorry. I don't have a lot of pokemon so I can only give you a 1 vs 1."
Alex smiled when he said, "You don't have to apologize, it's your right to choose a format."
Erika gave a thankful look and said "I also wanted to ask if it is ok if we can broadcast our fight. I am sure many young trainers can learn something from our fight."
"No problem."
Erika thanks Alex and ask him for the average level of his Pokemon which is the same as the level of the Pokemon with only one Pokemon.
Alex thought for a moment and chose 45.
He has a lot of Pokemon that should be good against Erika, but he chose a particular Pokemon that is very strong for his level.
...
After 30 minutes Erika and Alex stood across from the arena.
One of Erika's trainees was the referee. She gave the signal to both Alex and Erika to call out their first Pokémon at the same time.
A Blaziken and a Venusaur appeared at the same time in the arena.
-------------------------
Pokémon: Venusaur
LV: 45
Type: Grass / Poison
Abilities: Chlorophyll (hidden ability)
Gender: Male
Potential: Deep Silver
Moves:
- Growl, Tackle, Vine Whip, Leech Seed, Poison Powder [E], Sleep Powder [E], Take Down, Razor Leaf, Growth [E]
-(innate talent) Petal Dance [E]
- (TM) Protect, (TM) Sunny day [E]
---------------------------
Venusaur is a Royal Pokemon and therefore has a very good average potential so it was not surprising for Alex that this Venusaur had a Deep Silver potential.
In addition, Alex could see that this Pokemon is a Pokemon where Erika had no high hopes to train it to her main team.
The number of Tms shows that Erika probably didn't invest much in this Pokemon.
But Alex didn't think it was necessarily wrong. Even gym leaders aren't rich enough to spend tons of money on each of their Pokémon.
Also, just because a Pokemon isn't ridiculously strong doesn't mean that Pokemon is necessarily unhappy.
Training is strenuous and many Pokémon are satisfied with a relaxed life.
...
The referee looked at both participants and slowly began to count down from three.
"3,2,1, Go"
"Plan 1"
"Venusaur use poison powder"
Alex who had an incredible advantage in this fight felt that this fight had already been won as long as he didn't make a mistake, but that didn't change his approach to this fight.
He will always give 100% in every fight unless there is a tactical reason not to.
Blaziken, who had understood the command from her trainer a little faster, began to prepare her move first.
The difference is very small, but for Alex, it is very important for the success of his plan.
Erika had a bad feeling but didn't know how to react to it. Without knowing what Alex's plan is, it is impossible for her to answer.
Blaziken finished and immediately started using Attract. She showed a seductive pose as she looked at Venusaur.
Venusaur watching Blaziken suddenly felt that he couldn't bear to hurt such a beautiful Pokemon and began to cancel his move that was about to finish.
Erika saw this and started to say out loud "Venusaur wake up. This is just a trick. You ..."
When Erika tried to bring Venusaur back to her senses, Blaziken started preparing her next move.
Attract on the Expert rank is not so easy to shake off, so Venusaur only "woke up" when Blaziken had almost finished preparing her next move.
Alex thought with a slightly disappointed expression "It's a shame that the Attract chance of success is greatly reduced if it is used against a Pokemon that was recently hit by this move or I wouldn't let this Venusaur wake up again."
Blaziken finished and used Flamethrower which Venusaur could not avoid from his distance.
He showed a painful look and after that one hit, he already lost 30% of his Hp.
Erika noticed that the situation was really bad, but unfortunately, the options weren't really great to turn this fight around.
"Venusaur use Sleep Powder"
Alex saw Erika get the perfect answer in less than a second and he couldn't say that he was disappointed with Erika.
Although this fight seemed very clear, it was not a "fair" fight from the start because Alex Pokemon had a huge advantage.
Be it Tms, Move Mastery, Type Advantage or even physical fitness, Blaziken has an advantage.
Even Alex felt that if he is the trainer of Venusaur he probably can't win against Blaziken if Erika doesn't make a big mistake.
Plan 1 was almost over and Blaziken, who was preparing the last move of the plan, looked excited.
Erika also noticed Blaziken's expression but didn't change the command for her Pokemon.
Venusaur and Blaziken have prepared their move at the same time, so Erika thinks that Venusaur had enough time to use protect in an emergency after his move.
There are moves that hit a Pokemon almost immediately after preparation and give their opponent almost no time for a reaction to use protect like the move Psychic but Erika had to take this risk.
She also knows all the moves a Blaziken learns and doesn't remember any move where Venusaur can't use Protect in time.
Alex who knew which move Blaziken was preparing knew that this fight was over.
Blaziken finished first and immediately used overheat with a smile.
Erika, who saw how quickly Blaziken was finished, immediately understood the reason
She showed a slightly surprised expression when she quietly said, "Master rank Overheat... I can't say that I lost wrongly."
Venusaur tried to dodge but couldn't dodge the strongest attack from Blaziken.
He showed an expression of pain as he fell unconscious to the ground after less than 1 second.
Blaziken who didn't have a scratch showed a happy expression when she shouted "I'm the strongest"
