Chapter 184: A Trip Together

In Feng Yiping's memory, back then, the two of them, Feng Yiping and Xiao Zhijie, did a lot to get the attention of Huang Jingping in the back row and to make her smile. Now, the person they had a secret crush on was next to them, and it felt a bit like she was chasing after him. It would be a lie to say that he wasn't shaken.

Men value the first time, and they remember their first times very well, such as the first time they had a secret crush, the first time they fell in love, the first time they held hands, the first time they kissed, and the first time they did that.

Among these, the first time they had a secret crush is the most special, because no action was taken, so when they recall it, that relationship is actually the most beautiful and pure. And because no action was taken at the time, when they recall it, they feel that it actually contains infinite possibilities and leaves a lot of room for reverie.

Therefore, when faced with Huang Jingping, Feng Yiping admitted that he could not remain calm.

It had nothing to do with how old he felt inside, because men are often children who never grow up. I believe that when those old men in their twilight years meet the person they had a crush on when they were young, they will somehow glow with the radiance of youth!

On such a moonlit night, the person he had a crush on was living just a few metres away. Lying there, he could almost smell her scent. It was only normal that the young and passionate Feng Yiping couldn't sleep.

Everyone has desires, the key is to control them.

Most people know how to control themselves, but some occasionally lose their heads and don't bother to control themselves, which may make them criminals. Still others completely let their desires rule them, and they are animals.

Therefore, sometimes, the distance between a normal person and an animal is not actually that far. Feng Yiping is a normal person, and although his emotions were running high, in the end, he fell into a deep sleep in his own bed.

He still woke up at six o'clock in the morning as usual. As he brushed his teeth, he looked at his face. Youth is good; there are no dark circles under his eyes, and there are no bags under his eyes. Oh, of course, this may also have something to do with the fact that his eyes are not very big.

'Good morning!' Huang Jingping was also up, smiling and greeting him.

'Did I wake you? Why didn't you sleep longer? It's rare to have a holiday.'

'No, I'm used to it. How about some noodles for breakfast?'

'Let's go out and eat. It's so convenient.'

'No, it'll be quick. Just wait a minute.'

Soon after Feng Yiping got dressed and packed his bag, the piping hot egg noodles were on the table. It felt pretty good, actually.

'What are you planning to do this morning? Why don't we go out for a walk?'

'No, I'm just practising Wubi typing at home. I didn't have the chance to practise at school.'

'Haha, you're still so hardworking.'

'No, my teacher said that this is a basic skill for the future, and I don't want to lag behind in this area.'

'That's good. When I get back from school at noon, we can go for a stroll in the city in the afternoon.'

'By the way, where is the farmers' market? I want to buy some vegetables.'

Forget it, Feng Yiping didn't say anything about going out to eat, so he drew her a rough sketch. When he was leaving the house, he remembered and shook the biscuit box on the sideboard. 'Use the change here for groceries.'

At noon, Feng Yiping pushed the cart out of the school gate. Not seeing his father's car, he let out a sigh of relief. He had been worried that his father would come to pick him up in the province today.

When he returned home, he smelled the delicious aroma of stewed duck. However, Huang Jingping was not in the living room. He went into the kitchen and saw that the fire had already gone out. There were four dishes with the plates turned upside down on the stove, but there was no one there. The door to the guest room was also open, but there was no one there either. Where had they gone?

He went to the study to put down his school bag and found that the computer was on and the chair was turned towards the window, facing the Yangtze River. Huang Jingping was lying on the chair with her long hair hanging down the back of the chair. He could hear a slight snoring sound. He quietly walked over to take a look. It was possible that she had tired of typing and wanted to take a look at the scenery to refresh her eyes, but she just fell asleep like that.

He looked at her for a few moments, then decided to carry her to bed. He carefully lifted her head with one hand and her legs with the other. Just as he was about to pick her up, Huang Jingping opened her eyes and gave a sweet smile, 'You're back!' Then she closed her eyes again, and naturally put her arms around his neck. She rubbed her head on his chest, as if trying to replace a more comfortable position.

It was only when Feng Yiping was carrying her into the living room that she realised something was wrong and whispered, 'Put me down.'

'Don't you want to go back to sleep?'

She flushed and went to the bathroom to wash her face. 'What time is it? The food will have cooled down, I'll heat it up.'

'No, I just tried it, it's still warm.'

'Sorry, I cooked, typed for a while, looked at the scenery for a while, and I don't know when I fell asleep.'

'It's fine, you can sleep after eating. If you're really sleepy, you can eat when you wake up.'

'No, let's eat early. Didn't you say you'd take me out to play in the afternoon?'

After eating, Feng Yiping took Huang Jingping to Jiangxinzhou Park first, where he showed her the Yangtze River up close. To be honest, some scenery is better viewed from afar. The Yangtze River around the city is very murky, and has a strong fishy smell.

Huang Jingping was a little unwell, especially when she was on the ferry, and felt a little dizzy. Fortunately, the distance was short and she was young. After she set foot on dry land, rested for a while, she immediately felt better. In the bonsai garden, in front of the temple with hundreds of years of history, and in front of the sculptures on the riverside, she posed for Feng Yiping to take pictures.

When they were returning by boat, Feng Yiping pointed to the big mountain next to them and said to her, 'Tomorrow, I'll take you hiking there, okay?'

'Yes, yes!'

After returning from the park, they went straight to the city centre. Girls like to go shopping, but to be honest, the styles of clothing these days are not bad for men, but for women, there is not much that Feng Yiping likes. He thinks back to the idea that had sprouted in junior high school: should he start a clothing factory?

He helped Huang Jingping choose two outfits, a pair of high heels and a pair of casual shoes. Huang Jingping also helped him choose a set of a fine-checkered Ivy-style college casual suit in evergreen colour, a white shirt and beige casual pants, which matched the lilac-coloured skirt Feng Yiping had chosen for her.

Feng Yiping carried the bag and walked behind her. Huang Jingping tied the silk scarf she had just bought around her neck, ran to the front of the cinema to look at the poster, and then came running back. 'Let's watch the movie. Everyone says it's good.'

Feng Yiping walked up and took a look at the poster: A Chinese Odyssey: Cinderella. It was considered a classic, although there were many nonsensical parts. However, after watching it, many people, especially the girls, cried more than they laughed.

In a city like theirs, cinemas don't sell popcorn, a classic. Feng Yiping bought a small bag of melon seeds, two bottles of cola and, after thinking about it, a pack of tissues.

On the weekend, there were quite a few young couples like them in the cinema, presumably attracted by the classic scenes inside.

Sure enough, soon after the start, Huang Jingping couldn't care less about eating melon seeds, and was so amused by the nonsensical humour that when Zhu Yin put a sword to Stephen Chow's neck, he uttered the classic line, 'There was once a sincere love in front of me, but I didn't cherish it, and I only regretted it when I lost it. There is nothing more painful in the world. If the heavens could give me a chance to do it all over again, I would tell that girl three words: I love you. If I had to put a time limit on this love, I hope it would be...ten thousand years!'

Many of the young girls around were immediately moved to tears, and Huang Jingping also grabbed his arm, her eyes red. Feng Yiping immediately handed her a tissue.

When the Monkey King had to let go of the Purple Fairy, who had taken the spear for him, he looked at her as she floated slowly towards the sun in pain, and there was a chorus of sobs all around.

Feng Yiping has watched almost all of Stephen Chow's films, and this is probably the only one that makes the audience cry like this.

When she got home, Huang Jingping still had red circles under her eyes, and she was very depressed. She washed up and went to bed early.

The next day, she was full of energy again and accompanied Feng Yiping on a hike. From the top, the Yangtze looked even more spectacular and beautiful. On the flat stone at the top of the mountain, she took off her little suit jacket and wore a white dress. With her back to the Yangtze, she smiled, closed her eyes, tilted her head towards the sun, and opened her arms towards Feng Yiping. Feng Yiping pressed the shutter and captured this classic moment.

On Monday evening, the two of them were sitting on the sofa watching TV. Huang Jingping said, 'Xiao Zhijie has already gone to the university to look for Zhang Qiuling twice this semester.'

'This guy, I haven't even been here once,' Feng Yiping tried to change the subject.

'Why didn't you write back to me?' Huang Jingping asked, looking at the TV.

Feng Yiping didn't say anything. For a moment, he really couldn't replace an excuse. He couldn't say that he didn't want to write back because he was busy. That wasn't a reason either.

'Sometimes I feel very close to you, and sometimes, like now, you're clearly right next to me, but I feel like you're very far away.' Huang Jingping turned her head and looked straight at him, "Is there someone else in your heart?'

So, women really are sensitive. However, Feng Yiping had no way to explain, "Really not! Jingping, we just feel that we're both still young, that our lives have only just begun, that there are infinite possibilities in the future, and that there's really no need to rush things right now.'

'Hmph, so old-fashioned. Just like the teacher said, I'm going to bed.'

On Tuesday at noon, Feng Yiping saw Huang Jingping off to the bus stop. She walked in, came back, gave Feng Yiping a hug, and whispered in his ear, 'I don't want to go.'

Feng Yiping hadn't even said anything yet when she let go, 'Leave my toothbrush and towel. I'll dry the quilt I slept on and put it away so that no one else can use it. I'll be back!'
