Rise of the Crusader -
Chapter 159
159 Final Tournament IV
The power to manipulate gravity.
It was no secret that the academy was capable of so many feats, one of which made the impossible somewhat possible.
However, the tech division only revealed a tip of what they were truly capable of. It was said that only the dean knew how capable the tech division was.
Azarov was still in midair, trying as much as to get away from this predicament, he was in. But, regardless of his effort, or how he moved, he was unable to regain his stance.
As he raised his head, staring at Aurora, his mouth couldn’t help but open slightly.
“Oh, oh!”
Those words escaped Azarov’s mouth, and a second after he spoke, he was bombarded with ice spikes.
The spikes penetrated deep into his body, and as if that weren’t already enough, he was enveloped by flames soon after.
“Arghhhh~!”
.....
Azarov had sworn not to be terrified of death, as death was nothing but an ally to him. He had gone through hell and concluded that only the weak felt pain.
However, as the ice spikes rooted deep into his body, and flames covered him from head to toe, he realized that there was a more horrifying place than hell itself.
The flames were a degree fiercer than anything he had experienced. They didn’t only on affect the exterior part of his body, but they also dealt with the inside of his body.
His core region.
“A-”
Azarov was about to scream, but the vocal cord to do so was soon destroyed. He had become completely bald, and his body skin was peeled off.
Despite, being in this severe state already, Aurora didn’t stop sending the flames and ice spikes at him.
The goal was to leave only his ashes behind, as that was what could satisfy her hunger after all the bandit division had done to students of her division.
As Azarov was unable to utter those words out, the battle went on. And it was only after, what was remaining of him was his ashes, that Aurora withdrew both the gravity manipulation and the ice spikes.
She kept the flames going, and it was only after a few seconds that, she pulled her hand back.
There was complete silence in the surrounding, as everyone had watched how a human was burnt until only his ashes were gone.
“The winner is Aurora.” The referee announced.
The truth was, what sort of death had this person not seen? Some had witnessed a human being crushed and eaten alive by beasts.
As Aurora walked out off the stage, she received a round of applause from the students in the tech division.
Aurora had acted that way to prove a point. A point that was now understood by the students from the bandit division and the other divisions as well.
The referee wasted no time and once Azarov’s ashes were cleared, he called on the next competitors.
“Raphael from the elite division Vs Camille from the elite division.”
“The both of you should kindly step forward.”
When Raphael heard his name, he stood from his seat with a neutral girl expression, while Camille had a stern look on her face.
She tightened her grip on the staff in her hand and walked to the stage.
The both of them peered into one another’s eyes deeply, with their thoughts unknown. However, just as the referee’s voice rang out, Camille attacked.
Camille along with five undead slashed their weapons at Raphael.
The strike came at full force as Camille knew that if she wanted to win this fight, she had to give it everything she had.
Ting!
A sound rang out, as the five of the staff were obstructed by the force. The force didn’t only prevent their attack from touching Raphael, it also made them move a few steps backward.
Camille knitted her brows, and knowing full well what she had just come across, she gathered more undead beside her.
Meanwhile, Camille didn’t realize it, but when her staff came in contact with the force field, the expression on Raphael’s face changed slightly.
The look only lasted for a brief moment, before it returned to his usual expression.
“Let’s go!”
Camille said.
She and the thirty undead moved towards Raphael, wanting to hit their staffs against the force field when he suddenly moved.
Camille was quick to read the situation, she sent the undead forward while she remained still. Preparing and waiting for the right moment, in which she was going to attack.
Bang!
The power Raphael drove with was simply insane to the extent that merely standing in close distance with the undead, he had them collapsing on the ground.
“Shit!!!!”
“Can he use his power without touching them?”
“I think so.”
Several theories were brought up by the people in the surroundings as they watched the undead collapse one after the other.
But, the one which seemed to be the most likely was that Raphael was capable of using his powers without laying hands on his target.
Even though Camille was extremely terrified of how the situation transpired, she took a deep breath.
“Darlok!” Camille muttered.
And a second after she spoke, an undead appeared behind her.
A muscular man with arctic skin and a face that was full of scars.
His status as an undead was too all ready to be terrified of, then the killing intent of which his body was excluded out of his body was intense.
Raphael raised an eyebrow when the man appeared beside Camille. He, however, kept moving forward, leaving bodies on the ground as he advanced toward Camille.
A few meters away from Raphael to come in contact with Camille, Darlok who was behind her suddenly moved.
Raphael’s hand was already balled into a fist, and as he appeared in front of Darlok, he struck out a full-force punch.
Bang!
Raphael and Darlok staggered a few steps backward.
It wasn’t even up to a second after they were pushed back by the collision and Raphael launched at Darlok.
Raphael went in for a kick as soon as he got to Darlok.
The force and pace of the kick were something that Darlok didn’t see coming. He was, however, quick to raise both of his hands in an attempt to avert the kick.
But, his effort wasn’t able to block the kick. And as the kick came in contact with his hand which was crossed together, Darlok was sent flying away.
“Ahhhh!!!” A loud and powerful roar came from Camille as she rushed towards Raphael.
She raised the staff and was about to attack Raphael when he suddenly appeared in front of her.
With a sadistic smile on his face, Raphael grabbed Camille by the face and slammed her onto the ground.
Bang!
The impact of the slam had blood spilling out of Camille’s mouth.
She had yet to recover from the hit when Raphael tightened his grip on her face. He dragged her body to the floor by the face and after a few seconds, he pulled her up.
Everyone in the domain had their eyes fixed on Camille as her body was raised.
“What is he doing?” Aiden muttered as he stared at the duo a few meters always from him.
Even Bane was just as startled as Aiden.
There had expected the battle between Camille to be intense, but they didn’t expect it to be brutal.
From their view, Raphael could have easily end the battle, but instead, he didn’t. He seemed to want to show Camille that she was not a match for him.
Not even in the slightest.
Meanwhile, as Camille was in midair, Raphael balled his hand into a tight fist and struck out a full-force punch at her abdomen.
“Pffffttttt!!!!”
This time around, it wasn’t just blood that left Camille’s mouth, but the first row of her teeth.
The punch had Camille’s body bent in an arc form and a second after teeth touched the ground, Raphael gently bent, placing his hand on the ground, and he kicked her jaw.
Every blow he struck at Camille was at full force. Raphael didn’t hold anything back, and as blood came out of her mouth, from the jaw strike, the teeth remaining were also out.
Thud!
Camille’s body hit the ground.
.....
A snort soon left Gus’s mouth a second after. Its eyes were on Camille who lay still on the ground, it was only after a brief moment that it turned towards Raphael.
“Only this way would they know how much the disparity in strength truly is,” Raphael mumbled.
While the people in the surrounding didn’t hear Raphael’s response to Gus, Camille who was in front of him heard him clearly.
She raised an eye, and even though she desperately wanted to speak, she simply didn’t have the strength to do so.
The referee waited for a few seconds and as they were no movement from Camille, his voice rang out.
“The winner is Raphael Queen.”
Bane heaved a deep breath, “At least he didn’t kill her.”
