With a casual wave of his hand, five figures appeared in front of the death merchants.
And as the five of them saw the figures that just appeared, their eyes twitched, and instantly fear appeared within their eyes.
The reason for the fright was because the five who had just emerged in this nightmare were them.
.....
Karmau, Nikita, Akuma, Mystique, and Nyssa stared at their lookalikes, and they went through all sorts of emotions. However, as they moved their gazes to Vernon, they felt death flash through their eyes.
“H-How… How can this be possible.” Karmau exclaimed.
He shook his body, trying to break free from the chair he was in, however regardless of the effort he put in, he was bound by the chair.
The five lookalikes were wearing the assassin division robe, but without the face mask, making their faces in the reveal.
And staring at the five of them hands, they were also holding onto the weapons used by the death merchants.
“Hehehe”
Upon the disbelief expression and the horrified look which was on the death merchants faces, Vernon chuckled.
He then licked his lips: “What are you still waiting for, didn’t you hear me say, let’s begin.” Vernon spoke in a cold voice.
Immediately after he spoke, the five beside him moved on to their target.
Karmau’s lookalike held onto two war hammers, Nyssa’s lookalike had a bow and a steel arrow in her own hand, and the remaining three were holding onto the weapon of the person in front of them.
Staring at the five in front of them, there was still an expression of disbelief on their faces, but as soon as they felt the first wave of attack from the lookalikes, the looks on their faces changed.
Nyssa gritted her teeth, as the steel arrow penetrated through her thigh.
She managed to keep a straight face afterward, but once the arrow was being twisted around, the expression on her face changed quickly.
The same went for the others, as students from the assassin division, they were trained in various ways, one of which included, pain resistance.
Seeing, how they had reached to the first attack, a slight frown appeared on Vernon’s face. He waved his hand and less than a second after a black whip appeared on his hand, he struck it at the five on the chair.
Pa!
Vernon didn’t stop at one strike on the five of them, and after the first, he went for the second, the third, and within a few minutes, he had struck the five of them over twenty times.
“Now, go at it again!” Vernon tightened his grip on the whip as he spoke.
The strikes from the whip had left the five death merchants brutally battered, their robes were torn and blood could be seen oozing out of their mouths and body profusely.
As the lookalike heard Vernon, they wasted no time and launched at Karmau and the others.
“Mhm” The muffled sound escaped the mouth of the five death merchants and rang out a second after they were hit by the lookalike.
Karmau’s eyes rolled back and forth, as he heard and felt the sounds of bones crushing around his body.
One of the war hammers heavily in his chest, causing him to spurt out a mouthful amount of blood, while the other went after his right hand.
Then, he had only had just his right hand go numb with sounds of bone cracking, followed after when he was suddenly struck in the left hand as well.
“Mhmm”
Assuming, the tapes weren’t present in any of these death merchants, they would have let out a powerful scream, one filled with agony.
As Karmau was pounded by the war hammer like the meat used to make steaks, his colleagues were also having to face anguish at the hands of the person in front of them.
Nyssa’s body was covered with arrow, after being used as a target for archery by the person in front of her.
Every arrow that was fired, penetrated deeply into her body, there was blood all over her body, and as the lookalike fired another arrow at her, Nyssa lost an eye.
“Hehe” Upon Nyssa’s loss, Vernon let out a chuckle.
There was a grin on his face and as Nyssa’s other eye, Vernon nodded his head repeatedly at her lookalike.
For some reason, after Vernon’s response, the lookalike seemed to engage in a competition with one another on who could deliver the most pain to their victim.
It took only after a few minutes and Karmau’s both hands were slammed off his body. The same went for Mystique, whose body was marked with shurikens.
There was a nod of approval as well as acknowledgment coming from Vernon, as he watched body parts being separated.
Even though the five death merchants had experienced some of the worst pain of all, this was a bit much.
As the torture went on, bringing forth more blood and muffled sounds from the five on the seat, Vernon couldn’t help but speak.
“Why don’t you remove that tape from their mouth, so there would be able to express themselves a little more.”
There was a certain innocence that was contained in Vernon’s voice that would cause anyone who heard him to raise an eyebrow.
In front of him were five people who were covered in blood, with several parts of their bodies laying on the floor, yet he spoke in a virtuous manner.
“Ahh~!”
It was barely up to a second after the tape was ripped out, and the scream of the death merchants rang out.
Vernon continued to nod his head as they screamed, and once their voice softened a little, he ordered the lookalike to continue with the work they were putting in.
Meanwhile, a few meters from the mountain at which the battle was held, Orpheus stood with his folded across his chest.
There was a puzzled look on his face, but after a few seconds, his eyes twitched, and he said: “They wouldn’t do that right?”
As if replying to his question, Orpheus knitted his brows. “Oh damn!” He blurted with his hand then balled into a fist.
Orpheus raised his hand gently, and after tapping the screen of his wristwatch a few meters, a furious expression emerged on his face.
“Those bastard!”
Immediately, as those words were uttered, Orpheus vanished from the surrounding. He raced towards the location of his colleagues, and within thirty minutes, he arrived at the mountain.
Once Orpheus came onto the mountain, the atmosphere in the nightmare realm changed, and Vernon said.
“I will be back.”
The death merchants were in a disastrous state, and even though those words meant they would be going on a break, it didn’t make them relief… Instead, it caused them to be more terrified of what will happen once Vernon was back.
As Vernon regained complete control of his real body, he stared at Orpheus with a light smile on his face.
Orpheus, however, had a frown on his face. He stared at his colleagues who were on the ground, and he mumbled: “Illusion of his own design… Tsukuyomi.”
