Rise Of The Hoarder
Chapter 273 Pointless Struggle

“Guarghhh!!!” I spat out blood as the armor and all the gear I had on were completely pulverized.

They shattered apart, turning into dust.

It was at this point that I realized how hopeless the situation truly was. Now stuck in a pile of rubble, and coughing violently, I watched as the woman hovered above me.

Her blade was stretched at me, and her cold eyes told me my end was truly at hand.

‘Shit! Shit! Shit!’

What exactly was going on? Why did this woman come? Why now?

Millions of questions rushed into my head, but my Title suppressed the overwhelming emotion that would have consumed me. At the moment, there was no use in crying about the unfairness of the situation.

I had to survive, no matter what!

There was no way I had any intention to die here! No matter the opponent, they had a weakness! Besides, thanks to my panic and attempts to flee, there were so many things I forgot to try.

“Fine. You want to kill me, eh? Well… I won’t go down without a fight!”

I rose to my feet and began my healing process thanks to the Skill in my possession..

With a wide grin plastered on my scathed face, I eyed the exquisite armor that the Angel had on, and the extremely destructive sword she brandished.

Those were most likely Special Grade weapons!

‘You destroyed my Treasures… it’s only fair I take yours as payment!’

My eyes focused on the special items and I decided to make them mine by absorbing them into [Subspace]—just as I did for the Hobgoblin King and Chiefs.

‘Let’s do thissss!!!’

My earlier confidence vanished and, if it wasn’t previously established before, the truth remained even more vivid to me now.

‘I… I’m screwed!’

>BOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!<

>WHOOOOOOOOOOSHHHH<

>KABOOOOMMMMMMMM<

It didn’t matter what I did, the results remained the same!

I fired tons of Demon Cores at the enemy, detonated nearly all the Fireballs I had in stock, and used other weapons and items in my arsenal—they were all useless against the fierce opponent.

The winged woman didn’t even seem to be trying. Her graceful demeanor as she glided through the air made me utterly dazed, and at the same time, scared.

With each swing she took, the landscape was altered and countless blasts devastated the area.

I could barely keep up, even with my full speed, and eventually found myself panting for air.

“Shit! Is there nothing I can do!” I growled in frustration, as my growing anxiety made every tensed muscle in my body ache.

My throat was dry and sweat covered my whole body.

Death was right in front of me and I couldn’t do anything to stop it.

The angel, whoever she was, merely hovered above me and stretched her blade at me once more. Her unmoved expression made it seem like I was nothing but a speck of dust to her.

She didn’t seem to be struggling or even having fun at my expense. She was just completely neutral.

It scared me to imagine what would happen if my opponent actually took this exchange a bit more seriously.

‘I’ll be obliterated for sure!’

Still, I wondered why she hadn’t already. Was there a reason for her indifference in dealing a decisive hit? Was it that she couldn’t… or she wouldn’t?

“You struggle in futility.” Her voice shook me from my thoughts as her next attack completely threw me off guard.

The feathers that floated around her as she levitated instantly moved and directed themselves in my location.

The way they glistened made me completely certain they weren’t mere feathers. From their lustrous appearance and the danger signs that were ringing in my head, the multiple projectiles that were now aimed at me resembled…

‘M-metal?!’

>WHOOOOSHH<

The uncountable feathers charged at me with full speed, deeming to surround me at every front.

“Shit!”

My <Automatic Summon> took control and several buildings which I had been gathering using [Subspace] gathered instantly.

They lined up to form canopies, shielding me from the feather barrage as I took to my heels to flee. In my mind, I heaved a sigh of relief, hoping the multiple walls of concrete would slow down the attacks, if not completely halt them.

How laughable that idea was.

>BOOOOOOMMMMM!!!<

In an instant, the sturdy buildings shattered apart. These concrete structures that had survived the dangerous apocalyptic atmosphere, were now rendered into mere blocks—as though they were chunks of meat.

The feathers charged at me, their speed now seeming to dwindle one bit.

More structures appeared thanks to <Automatic Summon>—houses, trees, furniture—they were all broken to pieces.

>BOOOOOMMMMM<

Fortunately, I was able to steer from the trajectory of the feathers, but the impact still sent me flying away.

“Gargh!!!” I coughed out blood, feeling a churning pain in my chest as my body violently throbbed.

The shock caused by the feathers’ impact caused my body to helplessly swirl in the air before smashing directly into a pile of rubble.

“Guh!” I threw up blood, as well as what I could only assume to be breakfast.

It was a struggle to even maintain consciousness ad my line of vision slowly turned blurry.

I watched as the angelic figure approach me from her height. My eyes couldn’t exactly place what kind of expression she made, but I could only guess it to be the same one she had been having all this time.

What was her deal with me? Who sent her? Why me? Why was I being targeted?!

Thoughts like these rang in my head as I questioned in futility. However, the greatest inquisition I gave myself, of which I was frightened of the obvious answer, crept once again within my heart.

I was in pain, close to breaking down, when I asked myself the question.

‘Is this… really the end?!’
