Speed Is King -
Chapter 252 AIYIEEEEEEE!!!
As one, the Demon Bunnies did a 180-degree turn and began running away in the opposite direction as fast as they could!
In the ENTIRE history of the Games, it was the first time that an entire wave of Beast Tide actually ran away in fear before even seeing the player!
“Huh?? They’re running away?” Elliot said incredulously.
“Of course they are.” Khellendra said in a shaky voice. “That roar you just released…”
“What’s with it?” Elliot asked while frowning deeply. He was wondering what’s the best way to get the fourth wave back. In his eyes, those Demon Bunnies were sacks of XP which were rapidly disappearing from sight!
“HEY! What’s happening here! Turn them back and send them this way!” Elliot yelled loudly to the Game Masters that must be listening. “What’s with the bunch of cowardly Demon Bunnies anyway? Might as well just remove the “Demon” word altogether if they are so cowardly.”
He was feeling rather indignant and quite pissed too, at the thought of losing so much free XP!
Khellendra and Khalendros looked at each other and then laughed nervously.
“Look at Frosty.” Khellendra said gently to Elliot.
“Hmmmm?” Elliot turned around to look at Frosty.
His eyes widened at the sight of Frosty who was being gently cradled by Khellendra. She was trembling violently while looking at Elliot with a look of utter fear and… worship?
“Frosty?! What happened to you?” Elliot cried out in surprise.
“It’s your dragon roar earlier. And basically, the whole aura that you’re giving out right now. It’s like… you’re our ancestor.” Khalendros tried to explain. But because he too was massively impacted by Elliot, his words were woefully lacking!
It truly was a difficult task to think while your entire soul was quivering with deep fear, worship and joy!
The only reason why he and Khellendra weren’t openly trembling and worship Elliot with his entire being like Frosty was doing at that moment was only because of their much higher Beast Grade and bloodline purity compared to Frosty.
But even then, the impact was extremely strong and at such a basic level of his being that it was completely unblockable.
“Ancestor huh.” Elliot nodded in understanding. His Cosmic Dragon Energy was the combination of seven dragon bloodlines and the mysterious Life/Death energy.
For such a potent combination to unlock and revert to the dragons’ ancient bloodline was to be expected.
As of that moment, if Khalendros and Khellendra were to call him “Grandpa!”, in principle, they wouldn’t be wrong!
Of course, it was something that the cheeky Red immediately realized as well.
“Ancestor? Khalendros! That means you have to call the little pipsqueak grandpa from now on! Or great-grandpa! Hahahaha!” He said with uproarious laughter. “Such a beautiful story! Great grandson finally reunited with long lost great grandpa… who is a few hundred years younger than him! Hahahaha! Epic! Epic!!”
Elliot sighed and ignored the chatterbox of his little army. He had long realized that in every group, there would be a cool and quiet one (Frosty), a smart and courageous one (Winter), a tank (Brock), a sledgehammer (Wu Kong) and a talkative joker who can’t stop talking. Which was… Drumroll… Red.
“Will she be alright?” Elliot asked Khellendra.
“Of course. She just needs to get used to your new aura. We’ll be fine.” Khellendra gave a strained smile.
She was truly giving all she had to keep the worship and adoration out of her eyes and voice!
“Please take good care of her until then.” Elliot said before turning back to glare at the receding wave of “Demon” Rabbits AKA XP Bags.
[Fourth wave error.]
[Fifth wave initiated.]
[One extra wave added to the Beast Tide.]
“Hmmmmm? That’s how the system works? I scare away one wave, and they add in an extra wave? And if the later waves are stronger and give more XP, wouldn’t that mean I would be making a net profit by scaring the earlier waves and getting the system to send in more difficult waves?” Elliot’s highly cunning mind immediately found a way to exploit the loophole!
In the entire universe, it was a loophole that only Elliot with his insanely powerful dragon bloodline could exploit!
“I am going to release a more powerful roar. Frosty, come back. You two dragons, feel free to hide in the beast dimension for a while.” Elliot warned them.
The two dragons and the white-dragon descendant didn’t move an inch.
And as much as they dreaded hearing another roar, their souls were also jubilant at the same time!
[Fifth wave – Devil Salamanders]
Elliot’s lips curled into a smile. Salamanders? They are giving him dragon descendants as the fifth wave?
The system was making it too easy for him to exploit the loophole. It was as though the system WANTED him to exploit it!
As soon as the huge mass of salamanders appeared on the horizon and began their wild charge towards Elliot who was standing atop the lone tower in the middle of the vast grassland, Elliot let out another dragon roar of epic proportions.
GRAAAAAOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKHHHHHHH-KHOOOOOOOORRRRRR!!!
To make sure the salamanders did exactly what he wanted them to do, Elliot injected a little bit of intent into his roar. Intent which meant – Get the hell out of here!
As before, the salamanders froze for a quick second, cursed all the Beast Tide organizers for being utter fools and idiots, and then turned around to escape from certain death as fast as possible!
“Hahahaha! It worked perfectly!” Elliot hooted in satisfaction. His smile only grew wider when the notifications came.
[Fifth wave error.]
[Sixth wave initiated.]
[One extra wave added to Beast Tide.]
“At this rate, I will probably hit maximum King level by the end of the Beast Tide!” Elliot thought with satisfaction.
[Sixth wave – Giant Spider Bees]
At that notification, a deathly wail of fear sounded from Brock.
“AIIYEEEEEEEE!!!” Brock let out a very strange, high pitched scream!
For someone with a deep fear of spiders, the thought of giant flying spiders in a Beast Tide that usually meant THOUSANDS of them, was like a death sentence!
