Supreme Dragon Seal
Chapter 90: Cold Sentimental

Murong Xingchen’s clinic was still open, but there were fewer patients than before. With the stormy weather, there weren’t many people around.

This was because the construction of houses had already provided a significant degree of protection for the poor, and most of the people used to come for treatment because they were freezing. Now, they have a warm shelter, so naturally, there are fewer people around.

Qi Bei braved the snow and arrived outside the clinic. As he looked up, he saw Murong Xingchen standing at the window on the second floor, looking at him.

Qi Bei smiled at her, and in a flash, he appeared at the second floor window and knocked on the windowpane.

Murong Xingchen approached and opened the window as Qi Bei jumped in, carrying a cold breeze with him.

“Xingchen, haven’t seen you in two days, I’ve missed you,” Qi Bei said, grabbing her silky hand wearing black gloves.

Mourong Xingchen pulled back her hand and said lightly, “If you’re not going to talk seriously, please leave… Jump out from here.”

Jump out?

Qi Bei laughed happily, as if he had heard something very funny.

“What are you laughing at?” Murong Xingchen’s eyes showed a hint of annoyance.

Qi Bei stopped laughing, bent down and looked deeply into her beautiful eyes.

As Qi Bei’s intense gaze locked onto her, Murong Xingchen’s eyes contracted in response, as though they had been seared by a scorching heat. Her wheelchair moved back slightly, her eyes glistening, as if she wanted to avoid Qi Bei’s gaze, but she seemed to be stuck in it.

“Hehe, Xingchen, you’re shy, really shy…” Qi Bei laughed again, as if he had discovered something incredible.

Murong Xingchen became angry with embarrassment and used a small spatial distortion spell to play a trick on Qi Bei. The sound of his laughter was distorted, as if a magnetic tape recorder suddenly broke.

Qi Bei held his face with both hands and rubbed it vigorously. This girl is a genius. She can use space magic to mess with people like this.

“Murong Xingchen, you’ve angered me,” Qi Bei said, approaching her with a grin. She flashed out of the way and teleported away.

“Can you escape from the palm of Buddha’s hand?” Qi Bei moved to the side and picked up Murong Xingchen, who had just appeared beside him, from her wheelchair.

She screamed and said in anger, “Let me go!”

“Nope.” Qi Bei was shameless and carried Murong Xingchen back to the wheelchair.

However, as soon as Qi Bei’s butt touched the wheelchair, it immediately rolled back, and he fell to the ground.

The sound of silver bell-like laughter echoed, and Murong Xingchen couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Her beautiful eyes curved like a silver moon.

“You’re laughing…” Qi Bei held onto the wall as he stood up from the ground, staring at her in a daze.

Murong Xingchen’s laughter abruptly stopped, as if she was a bit surprised that she had actually laughed out loud just now.

“I wasn’t talking about you, you can keep laughing,” Qi Bei hurriedly said. He felt that making this detached woman laugh was already a great achievement for him.

Murong Xingchen stared at Qi Bei, no longer laughing, but tears welled up in her beautiful eyes.

What’s going on? Why is she crying again when she was just so happy?

Even though Qi Bei had a lot of experience and didn’t consider himself a beginner anymore, women’s thoughts were sometimes really hard to understand.

“Don’t cry, it’s my fault…” Qi Bei was a bit flustered. He had made her cry on their first meeting, and this time he was trying to make her laugh, and while she did laugh, she still ended up crying?

Murong Xingchen didn’t let the tears fall, but held them back. She asked, “What did you do wrong?”

“I… I shouldn’t have made you laugh,” Qi Bei replied innocently.

With a gentle tap of her small hand, Murong Xingchen playfully punched Qi Bei’s chest before resting her face, still veiled, against his torso in a cat-like manner.

Qi Bei’s broad chest rose and fell with each steady heartbeat, bringing her a sense of serenity and security that she had never known was possible.

Someone who could make her cry, make her laugh, and a steady embrace for her to lean in, this seemed to be a scene that had appeared in her dreams before.

“Tell me, what do you want from me?” After a long while, Murong Xingchen opened her eyes, as if she had just woken up from a beautiful dream.

“Can’t I come to see you if there’s nothing I want?” Qi Bei said a bit guiltily.

Murong Xingchen got up from Qi Bei’s arms and sat back in her wheelchair. She didn’t speak, just looked at him.

Qi Bei shrugged and said, “Okay, although I do have something I want to ask for your help with, I also really just wanted to see you.”

“Speak,” Murong Xingchen said calmly.

Seeing that she had once again protected herself with thick disguises, Qi Bei felt a bit helpless.

“I want to borrow a few strands of your hair,” Qi Bei said.

Murong Xingchen appeared slightly surprised, then reached up and took off her headscarf, revealing a cascade of silver hair.

A spatial blade flashed, and a small clump of silver hair fell from her head. She caught it with her hand, put it in a bottle, and threw it to Qi Bei.

“If you have nothing else to do, you can leave. I want to rest for a bit,” Murong Xingchen said calmly with her back to Qi Bei.

Qi Bei opened his mouth to say something, but then closed it again. He vanished from the window with a flash and the window slammed shut with a bang. The curtains were then drawn up.

Qi Bei stood outside the small building, staring at the window for a while before turning and disappearing into the wind and snow.

Just after he turned around, a corner of the curtain was lifted, and a pair of star-like eyes watched his back for a long, long time…

When Qi Bei returned to the City Lord’s mansion, he found that the three elf girls, Yan Ling, Ru Feng, and Piao Xue, had also arrived.

“I heard that you’re planning a surprise attack on the city of Dragon-men Tribe. Take us with you,” Yan Ling said.

“You should stay here and take care of your Star Master. She can’t do without you,” Qi Bei replied.

“Okay, how about Ru Feng and Piao Xue stay here, and I’ll go with you,” Yan Ling insisted.

After thinking about it for a moment, Qi Bei nodded in agreement.

“Lei Ming said you just went to ask the Star Master for help. What did you need?” Ru Feng asked.

Qi Bei took out a bottle given to him by Murong Xingchen. The bottle was transparent, and inside was a lock of silver hair.

Is this… the Star Master’s hair?

The faces of the three elf girls became somewhat strange.

“Your Star Master’s hair is also extremely poisonous. I’ll mix it with water to make poison, and then pour it on the supply of food and forage for the Orc army,” Qi Bei smiled wickedly. Not only would it destroy their supplies, but if they ingested it, he could easily wipe out the entire army without exerting any effort.

“Good idea… but do you know what it means for an elf girl to cut her hair and give it to a man?” Yan Ling asked.

“Huh? Does it have a special meaning?” Qi Bei asked.

“It means she is entrusting her soul to this man. Even in the elf tribe, when two people fall in love, it is rare for an elf girl to cut her hair for her lover,” Yan Ling said, one word at a time.

Qi Bei was dumbfounded. When he came back to his senses, he quickly put the bottle containing Murong Xingchen’s hair into his spatial ring.

Well, when it comes to poisoning, what poison is hard to replace? Why bother with overkill? He made up his mind that he would keep these strands of hair safe all his life.
