The Beginning of The End -
Chapter 15
I had so many questions, so many fears, I didn't know what was going to happen, I still had the clothes on that I had passed out in, but my shoes and coat had been taken. I crawled into the corner behind the door and pulled my knees up towards my chest, angrily wiping the tears from my cheeks. I had never been one for crying, I tended to keep my emotions locked away where no one could see my pain. But not knowing what had happened to the people I had come to care for broke me in a way I didn't realise possible. I haven't been this broken since my father died.
I heard footsteps approaching, filling the room with the sharp thud of boots as I pushed myself further into the corner, my entire body trembling in fearful apprehension. My stomach churned and breath came in raspy gasps, I didn't know who would walk through that door, but I know that whoever it is wouldn't exactly be an ally. I tensed my hands and prepared myself, no matter how scared I was I needed to fight. If whoever it was had come to kill me, I had to defend myself.
I heard the lock click and jumped to my feet, clumsily climbing onto the bed and dropping into a crouch, I didn't know what to do, I had used my powers so much when they attacked. Would they even work? Would I pass out again if I used them? The questions that spun through my mind were horrible and distracting, I was so afraid that I wasn't thinking straight it was like everything was happening at a lightning fast pace, one that I couldn't stop or control. I had never been captured by these creatures before, to be honest I had never seen a dragon before either! What did they do to prisoners, did they burn them alive?
When the door opened I didn't wait to see who it was, I forced my power forward and threw whoever it was back out the door before rushing towards it. The being who had tried to enter was a man with dark brown wavy hair that covered his ears and bright orange/red eyes, I could tell he was tall even from where he was crumpled on the floor rubbing the back of his head.
I decided not to waste any time and moved to run past him, only to bump straight into something widely resembling a brick wall and I was knocked back onto my butt as I cried out in shock. My heart thumped against my rib cage as I looked up into the eyes of the dragon I remembered, the one who tried to burn me alive and who had more than likely brought me here, his wild auburn hair just as uneven and frizzy.
The dragon shifter smiled down at me, though it was anything but inviting; his voice deep and cruel. "Leaving so soon?"
I stood up and squared my shoulders, prepared for an argument, only I had forgotten the one behind me as he moved quicker than I could follow and slammed me into the wall; growling in my face.
"Maddox, careful now wouldn't want to hurt the little fae." Said the dragon-thing-man, his eyes gleaming with humour.
The creature I now knew to be Maddox, growled in my face one more time before releasing his deadly grip on me, my eyes burning with fresh tears. "You sure I can't rough her up a bit Ryker? I would really love to hear the way she screams." He chuckled, my breath hitching in fear.
"Careful, I might mistake that for a threat and throw you like a doll again." I joked, though my voice was angrier than I expected, and much more confident than I felt.
Maddox growled again, his own anger increasing and his tone harsh; vicious. "Do not threaten me girl, you won't like the outcome."
"You're right." I laughed, insane bitterness in my voice. "I would definitely dislike the people I care about being butchered and being taken against my will and locked in a stupid room with no windows! That would just be swell." I growled at hun.

Ryker laughed and Maddox smirked for a few seconds before his face became a mask of anger again, he slammed me back against the wall, holding me there by my shoulders. I wanted to punch his stupid face until it was no longer recognisable, and do the exactly same thing to the dragon shifter. I hated them. Despised them more than anyone else I had ever met.
"Our little fae certainly has a temper." Ryker commented, once again laughing.
"What do you want?" I asked, my temper cooling down and leaving me with only fear, terror of what my life might become.
"I can think of a great many things that I want." Maddox whispered in my ear, his grip on my shoulder never once loosening.
"What am I doing here, why aren't I dead?" I whispered, looking between the two of them slowly.
I was surprised I hadn't realised at first, but these two being were insanely beautiful, more so than should be allowed for any creature; if this were another time and another situation. I might believe I could have dated one of them. But the sad reality is that I am their prisoner and they could kill me at any moment.

"You are a guest here." Ryker frowned, seemingly not able to believe his own words. "If you follow our rules you'll be fine."
"I didn't know you took fae prisoner, I heard that you kill every single one you meet." I murmured, confused and terrified at the same time.
What makes me so different?
Why have they chosen to keep me alive?
"We do normally, but for you we made an exception." Maddox chuckled, playing with
the sharp tip of my ears.
