The Beginning of The End
Chapter 26

Ryker shot into the room, the door barely holding on with its hinges as he slammed it shut with his foot, his eyes like fire when he saw me collapsed on the floor, withering in pain.

He approaches me slowly as though I may run at any second, but I could hardly hold up my own head, I had never been very good at handling large amounts of pain, my body wasn't made to fight, yet that is all I have done since the end began.

"Make it stop." I beg him, clawing at my stomach as another wave washes through me, the agony searing and unrelenting.

"Get her onto the bed Maddox, and pin her arms, she is going to seriously hurt herself." Even now as he watches me cry his voice holds no emotion, giving me not even a single drop of empathy.

Maddox lifts me from the floor, my screams filling the bedroom as I beg him to put me down, to not touch me. But neither of them listen to my pleas, the hellhound holding my arms above my head as I struggle and whimper. I wanted to die, I couldn't handle the pain, I couldn't cope with the burning feeling that was spreading throughout my entire body.

"Elora, I need you to listen to me, can you do that?" Ryker asks, leaning over the side of the bed to look at my face.

I scream out when the burning intensifies, the dragon king being close to me makes it 10x worse.

Maybe this was my punishment for accepting them, even if it was by force. Was this my body rejecting them?

I prayed to my ancestors for peace, for relief from the agony, but it was like they had all forsaken me. I had accepted the bond of an enemy, now I must pay the price.

"Elora!" He shouts, making me jump. "I need you to pay attention, we don't have long."

He was sat between my legs now, his hands on my thighs, but when did he move? I'm sure he was by my side...

I nod, but I don't speak, I don't have the energy to form words.

"Good girl." He coos, his voice softer now. "We have one chance to save you, but we must consumate the bond, the pain will only get worse if we don't, do you understand? You don't have long to decide."

I stare at him, confused and afraid, when did he become so gentle?

He was large and muscular, his abs poking through his buttoned shirt, his hair wavy and knotted, his eyes holding a pain I didn't understand. Had he always looked like this? He was breathtakingly handsome, but his eyes were haunted, they held secrets and sorrow.

"Elora, if we don't have sex, you WILL die."

I stare into his eyes, knowing that he was telling the truth, though I supposed it helped that I felt like I was dying, my body was slowly shutting down. I felt tired. So tired.

But I didn't want to die, not when I had fought so hard to survive.

"Will it hurt?" I whisper, glancing at Maddox who sat on my left side, still pinning my arms in place.

Maddox looked different too, his eyes held stories that could span a thousand years, each of them hidden behind his inner beast.

And yet, for someone so fierce and strong, he looked so vulnerable, he looked afraid. But was he afraid for himself? No, I didn't think so.

Ryker stokes a gentle hand down my cheek, "We will do our best to make it painless." He promises.

I had no reason to trust either of them, but I did, deep down I knew they would protect

me.

"Okay." I whisper, trembling as I tightly close my eyes.

I didn't want to see what he was about to do. I didn't need to.

"Little Fae, open your eyes." Maddox orders, but his voice was soothing, it made me obey.

I looked between them, my eyes locked onto eyes inch of skin as they peeled away their clothes, the burning pain long forgotten, a distant memory.

They were beautiful, both of them equally attractive, both of them scarred. They had been through so much, and they still had a long way to go, we all did.

Scars were proof of life.

I gently pull my hands away from Maddox and reach for Ryker, his body may look sharp and toned, but his skin was soft and almost tender.

Maybe he wasn't the monster I believed him to be after all.

They removed my clothes slowly, watching me for any sign of disgust or hesitance, but

I gave them none. I had told myself years ago that I would save myself for the right person, that I would hold on for someone who made me feel what no one else could, and I guess I have done that. I had two mates now, and having sex with them would save my life.

It was a small sacrifice; one I was more than willing to make. He promised me he would not hurt me, and I believed it, maybe I shouldn't. But I do. They had no reason to hurt me, not anymore.

Maddox shifted so that he was laid beside me, his hands exploring my skin with such a gentle touch that if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I would not have believed it possible. Ryker was between my legs, his breath so close to my core that I couldn't help but tense in anticipation.

What does sex even feel like?

I guess I was going to replace out.

I threw my head back, drowning in the essence of pleasure, Ryker knew what he was doing, his tongue lapping around my sensitive nub, he was adding just enough pressure to build something within me, and I was certain I was about to explode.

Maddox was beside me, his breath tickling my skin as he laced me with kisses, my neck, my shoulders, my arms; his lips were everywhere all at once.

I cry out, searching for something to grab on to as I climb higher and higher, my body trembling in awe of what they are doing.

"Come for me, little Fae." Ryker purrs against my core, my body instantly obeying as I scream out in pleasure.

I didn't know how long he had been between my legs, time seemed to have disappeared, all that was left was myself and my mates.

My insides shudder as I release the built-up pressure, my body liquid against the

mattress, but it was far from over.

The pleasure had only just begun.
