The Divine Wolf... or?
Chapter 134: You get what you ask for!

The carnage behind Ark was a scene that he would rather miss than actually watch, and for good reason. Not even the numerous magical beasts surrounding the plains wanted to watch this show, as the sight of the mother bear ripping apart the soldiers was not really pleasant. That didn't stop her at all though.

The tragic screams of the soldiers echoed throughout the forest as their limbs were torn apart, and their heads were smashed to bits.

The attacks from their swords were akin to mosquito bites, and since they were the mosquitos, the mother bear simply swatted them away. Ark himself was busily pouring his light mana into the small bear, quietly and thoroughly mending its visible wounds, as well as any hidden injuries. The worst part was that the bear had lost a lot of blood, and Ark had no means to simply replace it.

Therefore, even if he was able to heal all of the bear's wounds, it was still not going to feel particularly good.

Ark simply did what he could do, and he did it to the best of his abilities. There were still some nobles left alive that he didn't touch, but he didn't really care about them. They would get what they deserved, it was more important to take care of the small bear than killing them. The mother bear would surely do that anyway.

The screams of the soldiers went on for a while, before they slowly started to fade into nothingness. There were only a few of them left now, but they had all resigned to their fates by now. There was nowhere for them to run, and screaming wasn't going to help, it was their own fault anyways. They could only blame themselves as a result.

After the sound of a few bodies being ripped apart faded, the entire plain was suddenly engulfed in complete silence. Even though Ark was facing the opposite direction, the thick smell of blood that permeated throughout the plain was enough for his eyes to redden a little bit. He managed to regain control fairly quickly though as he once again focused on healing the small bear.

If his bloodlust got the better of him now, then he didn't know what would happen to this small bear. Not only that, but he didn't know what would happen to himself, or he actually had a pretty fair guess, he would probably die.

With the life of the small bear resting in his hands, Ark would surely die by the wrath of the bear's mother if he let his bloodlust take over. Fortunately, he was able to restrain himself completely.

The sound of the mother bear's footsteps approached from behind, and Ark took a couple of steps away from the small bear after making sure that he had healed it back to normal, at least if you didn't account for the blood loss.

After moving away, the small bear was carefully inspected by the mother bear, who was surprised at how fast Ark was able to heal the little fellow, no matter how hard she looked, she wasn't able to replace any injuries in her child, and that put her at ease.

Of course, she wasn't going to let any of the humans off because of that, the moment they decided to harm her only child, they had already received the death sentence.

The last few nobles screamed for their lives, trying desperately to come up with different excuses and reasons as to why the bear should let them go.

"Please spare me!"

"I was forced to do this, I didn't want to do it!"

"I can make it up to you! I promise! Just spare me!"

"I have a family at home to take care of! Please don't leave them without a father!"

It wasn't like the mother bear didn't hear any of their pleas for help, but it was already too late to repent. No matter if they had a family or not, they would still have to die for their sins. Didn't the small bear also have a family? How come these humans didn't think of that beforehand? Oh, that's right, they did, and they just didn't care!

There was no way any of them would be able to make it up to the mother bear, as her wrath was far too much for any of them to handle.

With no hesitation, the lives of the nobles were gone in a heartbeat, the only thing left to remind people of their existence was the blood that was left behind on the ground. After the mother bear had taken the lives of the nobles, she walked up to her child once again, and with loving care, put it on her back.

After making sure that the child wouldn't fall off, the mother bear refocused on the present, and she looked at Ark.

What she saw was a fairly small wolf. Judging by the strength she had seen earlier, this wolf couldn't be simple, yet it was this small, which only alarmed her even more. The wolf had a majestic aura around it, it was nothing like any other animal or magical beast she had seen in this forest before.

Even if she was alarmed by the existence of the wolf, it had still saved the life of her only child, and she was very grateful for that. If the wolf didn't want any trouble, then she wouldn't go looking for it by herself.

Not only that, but realistically, a majestic aura such as the one this wolf was projecting was only something you would get from a bloodline, which meant that this wolf's parents were probably not anybody she wanted to mess with.

"Thank you for your help in saving my child, it is much appreciated!"

Hearing the booming voice inside of his head all of a sudden, Ark was a little startled. He quickly regained his wits, and noted that this bear's manner of speech was a little funny, probably just because it never spoke or something along those lines. Before he was able to reply, he could hear another voice inside of his head, but this one was much more monotone.

"Due to the hosts attempt at communication using his mind, the host has obtained the skill Telepathy Lv.1."

This voice was like music to Ark's ears, and he was instantly excited at the prospect of gaining this new skill. He didn't know to which extent he was able to use it right now, but that wasn't really important, since he could always just train it in the future. This Growth skill of his that he had was actually a lot better than it seemed.

Even though it seemed useless, it was actually Ark's best skill, since it allowed him to pick up new skills faster, as well as learn a lot of skills that he normally wouldn't be able to.

The mother bear just looked at Ark with curiosity, she had no idea what he was doing. After hearing her speak to him in his mind, the wolf had just suddenly gone completely quiet, and she didn't know if the wolf actually understood what she meant at all.
