The Divine Wolf... or?
Chapter 167: A Godly Ability...

A badly mangled arm was sent flying high into the air, before it abruptly vanished into nothingness. Though it must've surely been painful to cut off his own arm, the angel was unperturbed, and he didn't even bat an eyelash, this was simply something he needed to do. To the others, his action seemed rather weird, and it left them all slightly astonished.

Who in their right mind would cut off their own arm? In the middle of a fight too?

Before anyone could really think about it too much, the angel smiled to no one in particular. Even though he had just cut off one of his arms, no blood seemed to be flowing out of his wound at all, the scene was actually quite bizarre. Instead of blood flowing out of the wound, dark mana was constantly pouring out rapidly, until it formed into the shape of an arm.

This darkness mana somehow formed into the shape of an arm, and quickly materialised into a real one, perfectly identical to the one before.

The angel who had seemed like it was in dire straits was all of a sudden back in normal condition, like nothing had happened at all. Everyone was naturally dumbfounded, as they had never seen anything like this before, but the angel wasn't just going to let them off like this, not after what had just happened.

The form he was currently in enhanced his darkness abilities, but it didn't completely take away all his light abilities.

Since that was the case, he released a burst of blinding light for just a second or two, blinding almost everyone in his close vicinity, naturally Thufrat, Atar and Ephine were close enough to get blinded, but both Thufrat and Ephine reacted fast enough to look away for a split second. The only problem was, when they looked back, the angel was completely gone from his previous position.

The light had created plenty of new shadows in the already dark cave, giving the angel plenty of room to move around unnoticed in the darkness.

Though they had no idea where he was currently, no one dared to let their guard down. If they relaxed for even a second, then their heads would probably be rolling the next second. As they were all standing on guard, something suddenly materialised behind Atar. A dark sword slashed horizontally at his back, faster than almost anyone's eyes could perceive.

There was no way Atar would be able to see an attack that fast that was coming at him from behind, but thankfully for him, he could easily rely on his instincts.

When it came to instincts, Atar was second to none, and even Ark wouldn't be able to say comfortably that he had sharper instincts than Atar. When the sword was just inches away from his back, Atar forcefully twisted his body to avoid it. It still managed to scratch his back a little, but he managed to escape any major harm fairly easily.

After he had twisted his body, he quickly bent his knees and jumped as fast as he could to get away from the angel. The angel wouldn't just let Atar jump away without doing anything, and it quickly slashed out once more.

Atar could feel the hairs on his back rise as the looming feeling of death seemed to take control of his small body. The sword that seemed to be made out of complete darkness quickly approached the back of his head. Even though he was just a child, it seemed like his life was already about to come to an end.

When the darkness was about to engulf the little child, a rather bright light quickly scattered it all away.

An arrow made completely out of condensed fire mana and propelled by wind magic fiercely collided with the sword made out of darkness. The fierce collision instantly created a large explosion, but naturally, Ephine wasn't thoughtless enough to send such a destructive attack right next to her own child's head without any precautions.

Thufrat had already taken hold of him, and hoisted him up on his shoulder. With earth all around him, there was no way for the explosion to do either of them any sort of harm. The angel didn't have any earth magic to defend itself with, and once again, it had to take the brunt of the explosion.

It wasn't as brutal as losing an arm, but the angel had instinctively guarded itself with its right hand, blowing half of it straight to pieces.

The angel still seemed to be devoid of any emotion as it just stared blankly at its bloody hand. All that was left was some of the bones, which only had some flesh and blood on them. Any other sane person would've probably just screamed uncontrollably in pain, yet the angel was as disinterested as ever, as if pain was just something foreign.

Just like before, black mana started to envelop his destroyed hand, and before long, it had already turned back to normal.

Even though most of the adventurers had already expected this to happen, they were still almost all swept away in despair as they saw this almost godly power repeat itself right in front of their eyes. How were they supposed to beat something that could heal back to normal in the span of a second?

This angel had already taken damage to the point where most adventurers would be on the ground crying in pain, twice!

Anyone who didn't see the entire thing would have no way of knowing that this angel had just had one of its limbs severed. At this point, Thufrat had already retreated a bit with Atar, and he was also secretly beginning to feel the pressure of the situation.

This wasn't some ordinary fight, if they didn't replace a way to overcome this angel's strange ability, then they would have to forfeit their lives here today. But in Thufrat's mind, there was just no way he was going to let that happen!

His life had finally started looking better, and there was no way he was just going to fall over and die now that he had gotten a taste of what life was truly about. Besides, there was no way this angel was truly invincible, he just didn't believe it, but how do you beat something that can regenerate in a matter of seconds? Unless… ?,

He finally felt like he had figured something out after all this time of just thinking desperately. Realistically, there was no way for the angel to regenerate if he didn't exist right? If his heart was just crushed all of a sudden, would he really be able to just heal it back? Such an ability was basically immortality, and Thufrat knew that this angel wasn't some immortal.

This meant that the only way to take this angel out was kill him in a single attack, but as this realisation dawned on him, Thufrat began to doubt himself a little. Even if that was the case, how was he supposed to do something like that? It was so hard to just get rid of one of his arms, but to actually kill him? That would be quite hard.

In reality, there was actually one more way to defeat this angel, but there was just no way they could ever replace out…
