Chapter 8: The Imperial Princess Made Tea for Solon
The Imperial Princess Philia moved her hands towards her maid’s clothes.
"I have to change clothes."
"By the way, isn't there supposed to be a maid?"
Usually, there should be a maid to serve the princess.
"There is only one person."
"It’s too few."
I spontaneously said and immediately regretted it. Wasn't that rude?
The presence of very few servants was evidence that Her Highness has been mistreated. It was not unreasonable to point that out, but I would surely ruin Her Highness’s mood. Yet she smiled delightedly.
"Yes. There are only a few people here. Ah, can I brew you some tea? Especially while I'm wearing my maid’s clothes."
"A-Are you going to do that…?"
Those were things a servant should do. I thought that a princess would never lift something heavier than a pen and had no life skills at all. In fact, in the mansion where my dad worked as a servant, the duke's daughter really couldn’t do anything like that.
Her Highness Philia puffed her cheeks. "Don't treat me like a child. Even I can do that kind of thing easily.”
"No, I’ll do it."
"See, you think I can't do it."
Princess Philia put water in a pot, then snapped her finger. Immediately, the water turned hot and boiled. It was a pretty amazing thing to do. The princess seemed to master the fire magic and used it often in everyday life. Who was the one who had taught her?
The princess said with a singsong voice, "If you want to brew delicious black tea, boil the water well!"
After the Imperial Princess heated the pot, she began adding tea leaves and started steaming them. You couldn’t make delicious tea unless you let it sit for three minutes, using hourglass to count the time. Philia and I sat down waiting.
I made the Imperial Princess brew the tea, was it fine? No, it couldn’t be good.
I thought if you had a servant who told you to prepare the tea, the servant would be fired.
"You don't have to worry about it."
Her Highness said to me. It seemed that she saw through my thoughts.
"It's something I love to do."
"But…"
"You know, even if it's something small, I'm happy if I can be of help to someone."
“Yes, I thought like that too when I was an adventurer,” I said with a small voice and the princess smiled happily.
"Solon has a power, unlike me. As a magic swordsman, you have the power to open your own way, the power to save people.”
Was that so? But I've always been weak and I regretted that. I was expelled from The Knights Order, I let my girl comrade die, and I also had countless other failures. Everything happened because I couldn’t do anything. But, regardless of my thoughts, Philia asked with a cheerful voice.
"Do you want some tea?”
The tea brewed by the Imperial Princess Philia was certainly delicious.
