The Invincible Full-Moon System -
Chapter 1136: Gathering Information (1)
Another day passed, and Rex was not oblivious enough to not notice the change.
Over the last couple of days, he wanted to say something to Adhara, Evelyn, or Gistella—but he was too afraid to even look at their eyes. Making right of the situation is top priority, but it was hard for him to do as none of them even wanted to be in his presence.
He doesn't have the bravery to do that now, and he reckoned that they needed time.
"Bringing them to the Fated Mountain is an option, but it's no use if they don't want to come,"
Rex rubbed his forehead, he had absolutely no clue on how to settle this matter.
However, today is not the time for him to make a move.
Since the cat was already out of the bag, Calidora became bolder and asked to move in.
A formal request came by the other day with the stamp of Elder Nolacula himself stating her desires. Rex found it impossible to refuse—especially considering the reasoning behind this, was the fact that the unborn child longed to be near its father.
If it was put like that, he couldn't even consider saying no.
Even then, he did notify the others about this so that they wouldn't be surprised.
"She should arrived before night," Rex mused and stood up from the throne with a sigh.
Despite the situation taking a lot of his attention, he still needs to plan ahead.
Making his way through the empty corridors—he stepped out onto the balcony, and lifted his gaze skywards to see the white sphere. Unlike before, the white sphere was now blinding—it also rippled the sky with its power.
Rex didn't need to ask anyone to know that the Second Breath was coming.
He also doesn't know what would happen in the Second Breath.
As the System was still offline and unresponsive, he couldn't ask about it either.
However, he refused to rely solely on the System's timing, recognizing that the emergence of the Second Breath could either present a threat or an opportunity. Contemplating the realms, he was aware there were two higher realms above him, the tenth and the eleventh ranks.
Rumors said that there was the twelfth-rank realm, but it was still too far for the current Rex.
He needs to take it a step at a time as he did before all of this.
Knowing his position, he couldn't ask about this to anyone and needed to be careful.
It would be bad if any hostile parties knew that he was not aware of the realms above.
Because of that, he decided that he would sneak out and go to the Elven territory.
Queen Shanaela is his choice to trust, she has done enough to earn his trust for this matter.
But before that, there's also another thing for him to deal with.
"Flunra..."
Almost instantly, Flunra appeared behind him, kneeling on one knee.
"You call for me, Your Majesty?"
"Yes. I anticipated arrival of the next full moon is overdue,"
"Ah... the world awakening likely influences this delay. I assume you seek insight into the forthcoming properties of the next full moon?"
Upon hearing this, Rex nodded.
Deprived of access to his stats tab—Rex didn't know when the full moon was going to come out, but he was pretty sure that it should be coming near. But even then, he didn't feel some indication that it was coming.
Even the moonlight energy level was not rising.
Not to mention, he didn't even know what the next full moon would be.
However, he has Flunra to help him with this, "The Honey Full Moon is the next one to grace us, Werewolves with its presence. As for its effects on us—Your Majesty doesn't need to be worried, it's rather docile, it is one of the few full moons that would not increase our berserk tendency."
"I do need to tell you about the Lunar Bees that we need to deal with," He added.
Rex raised an eyebrow when he heard this, "Lunar Bees?"
"No, it's not quite as you imagine," Flunra shook his head—noting Rex's tone, which seemed to anticipate the Lunar Bees as troublesome creatures needing to be managed. "Lunar Bees are a boon for us. We should aim to gather as many of them as possible prior to the night of the full moon,"
Following that, Flunra began to explain the conditions of these Lunar Bees.
Basically, the Lunar Bees would begin to appear as the time for the Honey Full Moon closes.
Since there are none right now, the Honey Full Moon is definitely delayed.
Gathering these Lunar Bees is crucial as they are attracted to high concentrations of Honey Full Moon energy—and the Werewolves use them to spot blessings or items that were filled with its energy which would be extremely useful for them.
Lunar Bees are akin to a radar for great treasures or artifacts.
Naturally, Rex was puzzled as powerful treasures or artifacts should be easily detected.
If they emit powerful rays of energy, then someone like Kyran would be useful.
However—surprisingly for him—Flunra said that the energy of the Honey Full Moon could not be sensed by anything. Werewolves, regardless of how strong their senses are, cannot sense its energy.
Not even the use of other external methods or treasures would help.
Its energy was simply untraceable until it made contact with other living beings that is.
Flunra said that the only way to replace them is through Lunar Bees.
Additionally, the strong and powerful treasures or artifacts could only be found by something called a super Lunar Bee. It was a different version of the Lunar Bee, with an increased—area of sense and also the ability to spot stronger treasures.
It is made by merging many Lunar Bees together.
In the past, Werewolf packs would dedicate all of their efforts to gathering Lunar Bees.
During times of crisis, the entire Werewolf race would combine their effort for the sake of the Lunar Bees. Just from that alone, Rex knew that this was a big deal—and the Lunar Bees and the Honey Full Moon were not something that he could miss.
"How can we replace these Lunar Bees?" Rex eventually asked.
Upon hearing this, Flunra paused for a second before he replied, "In places of madness,"
A moment later, Rex was now alone on the balcony again.
"Lunar Bees also have survival instincts, thus, as a defensive mechanism, they searched for a host which was usually a mutated animal, huh..." Rex uttered to himself, recounting the words that came out of Flunra's mouth earlier.
Mutated animals that the Lunar Bees influenced are marked with a golden mark.
And the host would become feral as if it was a rabid dog.
It was not hard to replace them, but the only solution was to expand the search area.
But even though it seemed easy, it was actually not.
Before departing, Flunra had cautioned Rex that the treasures unearthed by the Lunar Bees were mostly menial items with a high concentration of Honey Full Moon energy, and weirdly—this energy is highly adaptable, able to be converted into other forms of energy.
Naturally, this made gathering Lunar Bees attractive to other parties too.
A phenomenon that was not exclusive to Werewolves.
Surely, the other high-rank Supernaturals and Humans would also be interested in this.
Currently, the state between them was not peace, but rather, a cold war.
Now that the Fifthborn was dead—if an opportunity presented itself, the other races would definitely take it at the expense of others. Even if the Lunar Bees led them to treasures that were exclusive to Werewolves, they could use them to bargain with the Werewolves.
Or in this case, Rex, who was a very attractive side to be bargained with.
Small-scale battles would not be out of the ordinary during this accumulation phase.
Additionally, he asked Flunra about the tenth realm, and he surprisingly didn't know about it.
He said that he had never gotten near there, and the method to reach there was a secret.
Leaving a clone behind, Rex sneaked out and made his way to the Elven Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Elven Kingdom territory.
In the serene sanctum of a bed chamber—an ethereal elven woman, delicately unclasped her shimmering earrings, their luster rivaling that of the stars. Seated before the mirror—she was adorned in a resplendent gown of royal green, emanating the grace and majesty befitting her royal lineage.
She gazed at her reflection before stretching her body.
One could tell that she was tired, but the curl on her lips indicated her good mood.
Her room which was dominated by the hues of pristine white, verdant green, and burnished gold, alongside the verdant oasis of lush foliage, and vibrant blooms—mirrored her buoyant mood.
Closely assessing her appearance, she ran her slender hand through her golden silken hair.
All the while humming a joyful tune.
Naturally, she was Queen Shanaela, and she seemed to have finished another party.
Celebrating the success of the alliance treaty, which now led them free from the shackles of the high-rank Supernaturals, Queen Shanaela was definitely, in a good mood. After all of the suffering her people endured, it was time for flourishing.
Swoosh...
Queen Shanaela turned to the side, seeing the curtains of her windows fluttering.
Heading to close the windows, she was met with the orange-golden light from the sun.
It seemed the sun was about to set and gave their turn to the night.
But as she was about to close the windows, the hairs on her nape prickled from a presence.
"I'm pleased to see the Elven people in a good condition,"
Upon hearing the voice, Queen Shanaela instantly pivoted around, her eyes widening at the sight of Rex—standing several steps behind her. Realizing that it was him—Queen Shanaela froze momentarily before gracefully deciding to kneel out of respect.
Rex, however, stopped her from doing that, "No need for that if there's no one around,"
"I knew that you have a son, so I expected your husband to be here," He added.
Queen Shanaela tidied her dress and shook her head, "My husband passed years ago,"
Not wanting to idle in the conversation about her husband—she quickly added, "I believe it's not appropriate to be conversing here. Should I prepare a room for us? I can attest that not a single Elf would disturb us,"
Since they were inside her bed chamber, it was definitely not appropriate.
Especially with the rumors of Calidora's pregnancy.
Among all concerns, Queen Shanaela dreaded the prospect of Evelyn, Adhara, or Gistella perceiving her as a threat for being inside a room with Rex alone. Such misinterpretations could lead to misunderstandings that are hard to deal with.
"No, it's better to not have anyone know that I came here," Rex denied the offer.
He wouldn't want anyone to know that he came here to visit.
Understanding that the matters were serious, Queen Shanaela gestured to small chairs and a table to the side, "Forgive me, Emperor Rex, but I only have my regular tea here," She said, as she and Rex sat down face-to-face.
Rex didn't mind and let Queen Shanaela pour him a cup of warm tea.
Taking a sip of the tea, Rex nodded and decided to be direct, "I came here for one reason,"
"I heard that the Elves have an archive of information from the past, and I want to access it for matters regarding the upper realms for Werewolves. Maybe the information wouldn't be exact, but anything will do for now," He explained his visit.
Queen Shanaela didn't seem to be surprised, she knew that this day would come.
Elves has the oldest recordings of the past, and it's still accessible to now.
It was not hard to know as the Elven nobles boasted to Rex about it during the banquet.
Despite his scarce knowledge of the above realms, Rex knew that reaching the tenth or any realm above the ninth was different. Asking the Werewolves about the realms above—is the right way to get a direct answer, but that's impossible with the Storm Prince around.
So, he decided to get any new information from the Elves first.
At least, he needs to do this because he didn't know when the System would come back.
It could be tomorrow or even years from now, and he didn't want to rely on that chance.
Nodding her head, Queen Shanaela then said, "Please follow me, I'll show you the records"
