Chapter 92
Chapter 92:.
Dan stopped a cab and handed some bills to the driver, “Sir, thank you!”
The driver looked at the thousand yuan bills in his hand and also took a look at this little guy.
This was a residential area where rich people resided, so cars rarely passed by here. He couldn’t help but feel a little worried, “Little guy, are you sure you’re in the right place to look for someone?”.
Dan glanced at the huge insignia on the wall next to the front door: the Rowland Residence.
He turned around and gave the driver a smile, “That’s right, I’m in the right place. You can go now, there will be someone to pick me up from here after this! You have nothing to worry about.”
“Hmm! Okay then, I’ll go now!” The driver drove off.
Dan stood in front of the villa and stared at the main entrance with a defiant look on his face.
At that moment, the guard at the gate saw him, who was the same size as the young master.
Then he asked him, “Boy, what are you doing here?”.
“I’m looking for John Rowland!”
He kindly replied, “Sir, please open the door for me!”
Oh, my goodness!
It was the first time anyone had ever called the teacher by his full name. This boy was really outrageous to come looking for the old master. What business did he have with the master?
“Kid, you should go now. Lately, our old master gets angry easily. He has a very bad temper, AND he’s not someone you can easily meet!” The guard tried to persuade Dan patiently.
“I need to see him now, you have to open the door. Or else, you can ask him to meet me here too! I’m here to negotiate.” Dan replied earnestly, and his expression also darkened. Although he was of advanced age, he had a mature face and an innate aura.

The guard was momentarily stunned. “The master won’t see you!”
The guard came to his senses after a while and continued to persuade Dan. “What family are you from? How are you able to replace this place? Go back now.”
“Go and tell him now, I need to see him, don’t you dare to see me?” Dan was pinned to the spot in front of the door. “Tell him I don’t like his personality at all. He’s too arrogant.”
“Boy, I’ve told you time and time again, the master won’t see a kid like you. There are tigers all around this hill, So you’d better go home now!”
“Uncle, you’re just showing off. It would be nice if there really were tigers around. They could build a zoo here. and there’d be no way you’d still be living here!” Dan snorted, “Go pass on my words to Mr. Rowland! What I hate most is arrogant people.” –
The guard was actually petrified. It was the first time he had ever seen a child criticize the Master like this.
However, how could the Master go out to negotiate with a child?
“Child, you’d better go. Your mother is going to be worried about you at dinner time.”
“Uncle, you really have no manners. You haven’t even asked yet, And how do you know she won’t want to see me? Tell her to give Sammy back to my mother, Or else she’ll be embarrassed!” Dan’s tone was so serious it sounded like he was threatening the guard even though he was a child.
“I dare not pass your words!” The guard was being sincere this time.
Master was really in a bad mood lately since he even imprisoned the young master in his house. How could he go and provoke the tiger in the house?
As they continued to tangle, suddenly a sinister voice was heard from afar, “Lyford, what’s wrong, why are you being so loud so early in the morning, this is too inappropriate!”
“Ah! Master!” the guard whose name was Lyford saw John standing in the courtyard with a grave expression and this made him a little nervous, “A boy is here and he says he’s looking for you!”
John froze for a moment as his gaze shifted to the outside.
The guard was right, there was a little finger standing there.
“Good morning, Mr. Rowland. My name is Daniel and I’ve come to see you.” Dan introduced himself in a loud voice and clear intonation.
His impressive aura successfully drew John’s attention to him. John took a good look at the small figure outside the door and thought he must be Sammy’s age.
This boy also had an impressive aura, unlike his own grandson. An interesting smile tugged at John’s lips, “Open the door and let him in!”.
It was an amusing sight to see such a young boy looking for himself so early in the morning.
Dan was finally allowed to enter and he immediately walked over to John and stood in front of him. With barely a few steps apart, he looked at John earnestly as he repeated his introduction with a smile, “I told you my name a moment ago, and now I want to expand on it. My name is Daniel, and my mom is Sherry. In other words, she’s your grandson’s birth mother!”. John focused his gaze on Dan’s face upon hearing that.
Suddenly, something sparkled in the back of his eyes as he looked into Dan’s round eyes.
This pair of eyes… they were so familiar to him…..
“Who’s your father?” John made some deductions in his mind with Dan’s age as a reference.
There was a possibility – could Sherry give birth to a second child? She was almost at Sammy’s age.
Dan just looked at her without saying anything. After remaining silent for a few seconds, he replied, “You plan to have such a private conversation with me in this yard? You don’t seem to know how to treat your guest well.” Juan was stunned at her words.
This boy was really imposing! For some reason, he didn’t get the least bit angry. He simply turned around and invited, “Come with me!”.
Dan followed behind him with heavy steps.
When they reached the parlor, John waved his hand to signal his servants to take their leave. They all glanced at this unknown boy with confusion, though they could see a family resemblance in his face.
Mrs. Howe especially felt something stir in her heart at the sight of Dan. Her vision blurred for a moment as she concluded that Dan really did resemble the young lady and the young master….
However, he simply left without a word as that was John’s order.
Only John and Dan were left in the living room. He sat down on the couch and studied the little boy, “You’re Sherry’s son too?”.
“I’m not her real son!” Dan didn’t continue after saying that.
After all, he was still a child, and bringing that subject up would still cause him sadness and loneliness.
John froze for a second, “You’re not his real son?”
“Yes!” Dan nodded, “Mr. Rowland, I’m here to talk about Sammy, not me, can you give Sammy back to Mom, she’s really worried right now!”
“Sammy is my grandson! He just needs a grandpa in me! He doesn’t need a mommy!” John replied with conviction.
Give Sammy back to Sherry? Someone like her who could sell her body to give birth to someone else’s child, did she have the qualifications to be Sammy’s mother?
“I know Sammy is your grandson!” Dan raised his eyebrows.
This kid really looked adorable with his crooked eyebrows! For some strange reason, John had a familiar feeling that plagued him, “So?”
“Sammy is your grandson, but he’s also my mom’s son!” Dan couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that John was declaring that Sammy was his grandson and that he could no longer call Sherry his mother.
“Your mother sent you here?” John curved the corner of his lips without realizing it.
“I come here on my own!” Dan replied as he lowered his head.
He didn’t know if Mom would be mad if she found out he had come here. However, he was very worried about his mother and wanted her to be happy.
He didn’t want Mom to hate him, so he vowed to take Sammy back to Mom’s side. John was very surprised by Dan’s response. He was curious as to Dan’s motivation for coming here alone at such a young age.
By car, it would take fifteen minutes to get to this place.
He asked, “How did you get here?”
“Taxi!” Dan looked up, “It’s so easy! I just told the driver the address of this place and he was able to bring me here!”
“Taxi?”
“That’s right!”
“So how do you plan to get down the hill next?” John didn’t know why he was asking this, since they were just talking nonsense at this point.
He hated joking with people without any meaningful content, especially when the other party was a child.
“You will send me there! I’ve asked the chauffeur to go, since it’s not easy for him to earn money. I can’t waste his time.” Dan replied with nonchalance.
“How are you so sure I’m going to send you later?”. John’s interest in this boy was piqued.
“That’s because Sammy’s coming back with me to see Mom! Don’t you worry about two little boys alone in a car? You don’t worry about me disappearing, but you do worry about your grandson disappearing, don’t you?” That’s why Dan was so sure that Mr. Rowland would send him there personally.
Dan was so sure he would be able to convince him.
Uh! Dan was so reasonable! How could he be so smart? Why wasn’t his own grandson as smart as he was?
Dan could hold his own even with an adult, and his reasoning was impeccable: “Sammy won’t come back to you because he’s already overseas. I can send my driver to take you home, but you have to tell your mother that Sammy is okay. It is no longer necessary for her to come and pick him up. Sammy will still be happy without his mother, AND it’s a lifelong shame for him to have a mother like Sherry!”
“Why?” Dan frowned, “Why are you so critical of my mother?”
“You’re really unreasonable and arrogant. Isn’t it good for Sammy to have a father? Do you know how bad it feels to be abandoned by your own parents? My mom is really kind. She’s given me love and raised me, but she couldn’t have her own son by her side. Don’t you think that’s really sad? My mom cries, and she always cries alone. Don’t you know, Mr. Rowland? Sammy is very happy with mom by his side? How could you hide it? I hate you! I hate irrational people like you.” Dan glared at him as he gritted his teeth.
There was a defiant look in his hateful eyes. John felt his body tremble slightly and his expression quickly darkened.
As he looked at Dan’s defiant eyes, which were directed at him so stubbornly, the floodgates of his memories burst open as he remembered two other people: twenty-five years ago, in this same place and with the same scene, William, who was only five years old, was looking at him with such defiance as well after being yelled at.
William was gritting his teeth, “You hate me!”
“I really hate you!” He remembered replying that way to his son.
“Why do you criticize me so much?” five-year-old William asked her vehemently, his eyes full of apprehension.
“Because you brought about your mother’s death. If it wasn’t for you, your mother wouldn’t have died. You always have to remember that your mother is dead because she gave birth to you…” As his memories wandered, William must have also been this boy’s age.
He remembered that he immediately regretted saying such words. He looked up at the blue sky and sadness came over his face. His beloved wife had died from complications in childbirth, causing William to grow up without a mother.
This made him think: What if his grandson grew up without a mother? It wasn’t that the Rowland Family couldn’t raise him well. However, it was precisely that phrase that caused William to lose his happily ever after since he was five years old. He was never happy after that.
He remembered Mrs. Howe pleading with him as he sobbed, “Master, the young master is not wrong. He is still a child, and if he wants to blame anything, he should blame the young lady’s bad luck. She has not been able to enjoy her happiness. I know you hate the young master for leading to Miss’s death, but in the end he is still your son. This is his fate!”
“If he didn’t exist, Vivien would never have left me.” John’s eyes hid a terrible pain.
Within that sense of pain was an infinite longing. The woman he loved most was no more. She would never come back. He had gone through such a lonely life for five years, and those years felt so long and endless. He was engulfed in complete loneliness and sadness. William just stared at him and remained silent at that moment.
