The Supreme Level Up System -
Chapter 174 Cold Anger
Eventually, they found a small building on the border of the high-class district. It seemed out of place, and it was hard to replace because of that… it was small compared to the other buildings. It wasn't particularly that well-guarded… the people of that country weren't expecting a rescue mission, it seems.
"What is the plan?" Aion asked. "Your buddies are on the line here, so you should decide the plan of action."
"My power doesn't work well on the ground. I might end up burying them alive if they are there." Sauros replied, "We need to use the regular entrance."
"All right, to make sure that no one will think that I am here, I will use a bow," Aion said. "That might make the enemies confused once they see the bodies."
Until now, they ignored the fact that Aion transformed his weapon now and then, but the curiosity was starting to get better of them. In any case, Aion could see four guards around that building, so he had to be fast. Fortunately, they were only eighty meters away.
After aiming first and then taking a deep breath, Aion fired his first arrow, and then the second was already ready to be fired even before the first landed. The projectiles easily pierced the enemies' helmets, and they died without even knowing what had happened to them.
"Requiescat In Pace," Aion said.

All the running on the top of the buildings made Aion recall a game that he played in his previous life. It wasn't time to act like that, but in the end, he didn't feel much when he killed the enemies when they had such a history.
"I will recover some of my mana here while I keep a watch on the surroundings. You should head to the prison," Aion said. "I don't think that you will replace any traps there, but you should be careful anyway."
Those two silently nodded and then jumped from the top of that building. While the door of the prison was locked, Sauros easily unlocked it by making the entire door become dust… he should be less obvious when leaving traces of his power, but maybe he never showed it to anyone before, at least those who knew his face and were enemies.
While those two were away, Aion approached the bodies of the guards and then made their gear be absorbed. They didn't have many guards, but they were cautious enough to keep their armor and weapons with them all the time. Their style of gear made Aion recall the Romans a bit. The helmets easily protected the back of their heads and neck since their back was longer, and the front gave them a clear view of the surroundings. It worked well against ordinary attacks.
After not so long, Aion noticed the approach of another group of guards… it was exactly four, so he wondered if they would take the turns of the fallen guards. While Aion hides the bodies on the top of the prison, they will notice that something is off once they notice that their allies aren't there…
"They will stop before they turn, and they will be in the middle of a crossroad," Aion thought while looking around for possible witnesses. "I want to make the Sniper class level up, but I can't risk it."
Aion changed his class to necromancer and then summoned Lerg, his death knight that was the annoying archer… calling him death archer sounded weird, though. In any case, as expected of someone who lived through countless battlefields using only a bow, he fired arrows that didn't make any noise and then killed them.
Aion quickly moved to hide the bodies on the top of the prison as well. Still, the lingering scent of blood was troubling him… it was only a matter of time before it became clear what they had come to do. Things might escalate pretty fast if he doesn't do anything, but he couldn't leave any traces that could lead to him as well... a real troublesome situation.
After waiting for ten minutes, Aion found those two leaving the prison alone… the prison was empty. That was really the worst-case scenario. They weren't in the prison, so they could only guess that they were being interrogated before the execution in a place that would be even harder to invade under normal conditions. They had no idea where that could be…
"What now?" Aion asked.
"I don't know… I honestly don't know what we can do," Sauros replied with his head down.
"Get a grip, dude," Aion said. "Aren't you the leader of a ghost group of people that have been working to protect something for three thousand years?"
"While that is true, we never had to deal with something like this… maybe our ancestors did, but…" Seris said.
"If you guys really want to save them, then we need to take some drastic measures," Aion said. "Let's invade one of those flashy houses and demand that the merchants that rule this country tell us where they are."
Being stealthy was no longer an option. They would end up revealing that they were allies of the prisoners and thus members of the Herandins family, but it couldn't be helped… their numbers were small, and they couldn't afford to lose more of them.
"Let's do this…" Sauros declared. "The largest building is where the most powerful merchant of this country lives."
They passed nearby that earlier, and Aion saw at least twenty guards there. Once those guys fall, the battle will start, and it will be only a matter of time before the whole city wakes up and turn against them.
"This will be a race against time, but while they interrogate the man, I will have the chance to use them," Aion thought. "The dark armored group will end up being famous here unless…"
