Under the Veil I Rule -
Chapter 215
Amara opened her eyes and smiled, replying, "My eyes have been feeling a bit dry lately, always wanting a little rest."
"Oh, dry eyes? You definitely need to shut them for a bit. My wife has the same issue; she's always using eye drops. By the way, Amara, I heard you got divorced?" Louis casually mentioned.
A few ears perked up around them, discreetly listening in. Amara's smile remained unchanged. "Yeah, we got divorced. Just finalized the paperwork."
Amara was calm and collected, and the two colleagues in front turned around, asking a couple of questions about the divorce. Amara answered each one.
Soon, the news of her and Finnian's amicable split spread throughout the crew.
The chatter continued as they journeyed to the edge of Wye. They got off the bus and boarded a boat, which rocked gently for about half an hour before they reached the island Cedric had mentioned.
The island was beautiful, transformed into a tourist spot by developers with a sprawling garden. Cedric had rented the southwestern part of the garden for filming the royal hunt scene in Whispers of Winter. Once they disembarked, they drove to the location.
Cedric was a man who didn't waste a second. Renting the place was costly, so he immediately directed the crew to start setting up the scenes.
As a screenwriter, Amara didn't have much to do at the moment. She wandered through the garden with her camera, pausing to snap pictures of any captivating sights.
Gradually, she found herself in a secluded area. In front of her was a grove of trees, with a stone monument behind it. It was the setting for tomorrow's shoot, quite picturesque. Amara raised her camera and clicked away, engrossed in her photography.
She was so focused that she didn't notice the footsteps behind her. As she finished taking a photo, a deep voice interrupted, "Do you like taking pictures?"
Startled, Amara turned slightly to see Finnian standing beside her.
"Mr. Everly," she greeted simply. "Yeah, I guess, I enjoy capturing landscapes."
With that, she turned back to her camera, her expression neutral, but inside she was surprised. Finnian cared about Liliana so much that he'd follow her even on location shoots. How doting.
His presence on the island was surely because he had accompanied Liliana. He'd probably stay a few days, ensuring Liliana wouldn't get hurt on this remote island.
Unaware of her thoughts, Finnian offered, "Would you like some pictures of yourself? I can take a few for you."
After that, he extended his long fingers, looking at Amara.
"I... alright, thank you, Mr. Everly."
Amara had initially thought to decline Finian's offer, but with his hand already outstretched, refusing felt unnecessary. She handed him the camera and found a spot to stand.
She wasn't sure about Finnian's photography skills, but he seemed to know what he was doing, replaceing angles and positions quickly. In no time, he snapped some shots.
Once finished, Finnian stood up, and Amara walked over, thanking him again as
she took back her camera to review the photos.
"We don't need to be so formal with each other."
In just a short time, she'd thanked him twice. Finnian gazed down at her and
added, "After all, we were married once."
